😠 So, I get there with wife and two kids at 12:45pm and the train had just left. I though it left ever hour on the hour so we asked when it was leaving again and they said an hour later. So we left and came back at 1:30pm then the very unpleasant guy said they now had a private tour. I was disappoint... So, I get there with wife and two kids at 12:45pm and the train had just left. I though it left ever hour on the hour so we asked when it was leaving again and they said an hour later. So we left and came back at 1:30pm then the very unpleasant guy said they now had a private tour. I was disappointed and said why didn’t he tell me that when I went before and he just didn’t answer. I decided to give it another try and came back at 3:15pm, saw the train there half full and thee guy said it was full. I said it wasn’t and he said you don’t see it but it is...then I said why he didn’t tell me to purchase the tickets in advance and just left... One of the worst “service” experience I’ve had in my life!!! Just don’t bother...

I already saw the small train cruising through zona colonial a few times during the day and as I was taking a day off from excursions today I decided to give it a try even though I thought of it as a tourist trap since the first time. They advertise a tour of 45 minutes for RD$ 500 (RD$ 250 if you are dominican). Well, price wise it was correct - 45 minutes not really; it was more like 35 minutes and everything was played from a recorder where I assume some parts were skipped. The person on the english part of the train didn't even understand basic english - she replied the girl who asked a simple question in spanish that she doesn't understand it. Considering all facts I would rather do whatever day trip with ATA excursions than pay 25+% of it for a train cruising tour through zona colonial.

The website listed on Google isn't working. The tour is in English, last circa 40mins and is $7/person. However the directions from the train audio seem misleading. It's worth it to get your bearings if you've just come to Santo Domingo

It's an ok experience. The tour passes through the Zona Colonial. Since the area is very small, it happens that it passes through certain streets more than once, each time focusing on different information. They play a recording and a facilitator synchronizes it with the physical location and points at the various building being described. One of the workers there wasn't the nicest. Only 35-40 minutes, 500 pesos. Call to find out when it leaves, the sign might say on the hour but many times it actually leaves at half-past. (09:30, 10:30, etc)

As a professional historian, I am wary of history-transportation gimmicks like trolleys and duckboat rides, but this little "train" did not disappoint. This tour was an ideal way to see the city, especially after a long day of walking. Each train car sits eight to ten people. Unfortunately, train cars were not wheelchair accessible. A personalized audio tour played in each car and was available in seven language: Spanish, English, French, Portugues, Russian, Italian, and German. Additionally, catchy local music played between the narrative segments. A multilingual tour guide sat beside the audio tour player and answered additional questions as needed. Tickets are $12USD, with a discount for paying in RD$. The ticket office is located underneath Colegio de Abogados la República Dominicana [Dominican Republic Law School] The train runs from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with 16 tours a day. This was the most consistent, reliable excursion I experienced during my entire trip to the Dominican Republic. I would gladly ride again.

02/2023: Nice drive through the old town of Santo Domingo. The journey took 35 minutes. Due to road closures, the entire tour could not be completed. 12 US dollars per person are charged. It was fun and the explanations were in German and very easy to understand. All in all, I would do it again.

It was a good thing this was a cheap train ride! It was very short and didn't take you anywhere but around the main plaza that you will have definitely walked on you own. You could not hear the pre recorded duel recordings of the surroundings. But if you can't walk well or are extremely tired it is a good option.

Disney type of little train that takes you for a 45 minute ride through the major sites of the Zone Colonial. It cost around 7USD. You catch it in Parque Colon. I opted out as I preferred to cruise on my own.

Really nice to do to discover the colonial district and a little history quietly sitting on this train which weaves through the streets brilliantly. It’s obviously worth the 650 pesos 👍🏻

Great option to go around the historical old city of Santo Domingo. The zona colonial is the foundation of the new world where Christopher Columbus established. Then Nicolas de Ovando and Diego Colon governed the city and from here led the occupation of other lands in the Americas. Now days the area is been under reconstruction and bringing back some of the original aspect of the city as well making it more attractive for tourists.

(Translated by Google) I am giving you 1 star because you really can not give less, I had a horrible experience with this company since they offer service hours that do not comply with the established. In addition to that the employees do not have the slightest delicacy to deal with the clients, everything was in a mocking tone and they were not interested in giving an answer to the problem (Original) Le estoy dando 1 estrella porque realmente no se puede dar menos, tuve un experiencia horrible con esta empresa ya que ellos ofrecen horarios de servicios que no cumplen con lo establecido. A pleasant tour, in which you take a walk through the colonial area of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. It is enjoyable but relatively short, there is no guide, just a speaker that briefly explains the historical points of the site. The audio explanation is only in French and English, the cost was $12 dollars or $650 Dominican pesos.

Very nice and convenient way to see Zona Colonial. The price for tourist is $600. Pesos and for nationals $300.00 you must show local id to get the discounted price. The staff was very polite and knowledgeable of the area. The train has two sections, the front section is for Spanish speaking passengers and the back section is for English speaking passengers. The ride last about 45 minutes. It’s suitable for the entire family.

The tour didn't last 45 minutes, but only half an hour. The explanations in English are played on a recorder. In order to drown out the traffic, it has to be set to very loud and this means that you can hardly understand the individual words. So the tour didn't do anything for me. The ticket now costs $12 for foreign tourists. You can safely save this money.
