A great stop on Calle Padre Billini was Quinta Dominica, a small, free museum containing coats of arms and portraits of Spanish monarchs. The building was built in the early 16th century as a monastic cell. In 1538, the building became part of the campus of Colegio Santo TomĂĄs de Aquino. After a renovation in 2004, the building became the current museum.

What a beautiful place for a relaxing break while exploring Santo Domingo. A haven of peace, beautiful architecture, with pretty tables, chairs and benches set in a wooded garden, delicious and inexpensive fruit juices served with great kindness. The impeccable toilet displays some engravings, it feels like an art gallery 😉 Just watch out for the many birds who sometimes give “little gifts” if you are not protected by leaves 🙏🏻

Beautiful and tranquil garden in the middle of the Zona Colonial. Lovely place to relax and get a cold drink on a hot Caribbean day.

For me one of the best spaces within the Colonial Zone. La Quinta is a luxury in architectural beauty and the space dedicated to the gallery is great. If you ever want something different. Visit Quinta Dominica!

A simply stunning place. Quaint, quiet, reflective and timeless. It’s secret garden (and art gallery) which serves coffee at $1, and limited selection of drinks. It organizes regular literary and artistic events, and has a piano which I was allowed to practice on every day. A must visit fir reading a book, or just soaking in the 1500s atmosphere.

Beautiful event place with leafy patios/gardens, a stage for musicians and a dance floor. Inside there are paintings of Kings, Queens, Princess and princesses, Hapsburg coat of arms, and descriptions of them. For a short time the place was a prison until it was turned over to the neighbouring church for the church's use. Now it is a cultural center.

Amazing find that can't be missed. Classic colonial architecture with a modest building and luxurious garden. A pocket of tranquility in the middle of the city. The art was very progressive and a really enjoyable experience. As were the sculptures in the garden. On top of that the staff couldn't have been more helpful and I wanted to buy everything in the thoughtfully stocked little shop!

***BEWARE*** DO NOT STAY AT THIS LOCATION!!! If I could give zero stars I would!!! The owner who is a French lady is a trashy and horrible person. I had a booking here from Airbnb and the owner cancelled last minute only to say that she got someone else the booking who was paying her a higher rate. So unprofessional for this owner to do this. You've been warned, but I would not stay if I were you. She can potentially do the same thing. In addition, based on other reviews on Airbnb apparently she's done the same thing to others. So I highly encourage to BE CAREFUL!

Beautiful and fresh patio. Mojito was mid but the quiet and fresh atmosphere are worth it. Good for a quick recharging stop if walking/touring around Zona Colonial
