Some 20 min walk from the SD tourist zone of Zona Colonial will take you to this National Palace. It was built in the middle of 20 c under dictator Trujillo in a neoclassical style housing the National Parliament and President's office. However you cannot pass the gates, nor tour the building which makes it only a 5 min stop for some outside pics, so decide yourself if it's worth that walk.

An absolutely gorgeous building! You can't get too close naturally, because of the armed guards, but still very lovely. The scene in The Godfather Part II where Michael kisses Fredo, was filmed inside this building.

House of the president in chief. Just like the White house in WA, but DR version, cheaper, you know...

Great country standing proudly in the Atlantic tumultuous waves. God Bless this land with grace and prosperity. President Abinader developed the economy and with the help of the Dominicans made this country a paradise for its citizens to live safely and create opportunities for their children's in the promising future.

Someone needs to edit the navigational coordinates here because when I hit start route it takes me across the border to Haiti. That is insane!

Lovely unique historical hidden gem. Stan and Marian were outstanding. Great hosts. The breakfast was above and beyond. They were really accommodating. The highlight was how uniquely beautiful this vintage stay was. Each area was a treat with eclectic decor. This landmark boutique was located in the perfect spot for all the top Puerto Plata sights to see nd places to eat or shop at. Located a couple of blocks down, more than any place there, was a local restaurant named Skina's. Really beautiful inside, with a huge tree growing right across the middle of the restaurant, adding to the experience. Cant say enough about this cozy home
