Located in an alley between Calle Las Damas and Calle Isabel La Católica, Plaza María de Toledo honors the wife of Diego Colón [James Columbus], son of Cristóbal Colón. Signage in the plaza (available in English and Spanish) explained that María de Toledo was the highest ranking Spanish noble in the Americas at the time of her arrival, as the king, Ferdinand II, was her cousin. She introduced high fashion to the island, defended the rights of Indiginous people, and retained her titles and property after the death of her husband.

Beautiful little park to go and have a good time with the family (children, your pet, romantic walk, etc.) Near ice cream shops, Ding Tea and a shop with cotton candy and popcorn for the kids. Also a little bit of history with the Doña María de Toledo statue. If this is a must visit in the colonial zone.

The Plaza Maria de Toledo is not very large but it has that colonial emcanto, it is charming and you can talk to someone, you can meet with friends or a loved one, go with the kids and have a great family time.

There is not much to do or see there but is a good place to make a stop to sit down as it is not usually crowded so you can breath some fresh air.

I love la Zona Colonial, but this little park is so small and cute. Next to it there is an ice-cream shop.

Great place to buy antiques on Sundays, unfortunately prices are high and if you look like a tourist prices are even higher.

A great spot to a enjoy a beer or simply sit and enjoy ambient of the colonial zone. It's also centric in relation to other sweet spots like the restaurants and El Conde street.
