Clearly tried to overcharge us. Food was good though.

Great food with typical dishes and beer for fair prices. Amazing soup in bread! Very friendly staff. Besides, there's even a piano there! :)

Very good service, cosy feeling, very good food, especially Stiefel dishes, warm place managed by warm people, excellent value for the money. Lovely place to go when you're in Bonn.

I really enjoyed my dinner here. We walked in and they only had 2 seats left. We were lucky to get them! The food was amazing.

Restaurant is located just near Beethoven house. Looks from outside and inside like old German restaurant. Service is very kind, prices competitive, food tasty.

Decided to try this place after reading the mostly-positive reviews. Was a bit of a let down, in all honesty. The good: Staff was friendly if not a bit frazzled from trying to cope with the large crowds. Drinks were quite decently priced. Could be better: the food. Sausages from the ‘Beethoven’ dish was not what you would call authentic German sausages…the look, texture and taste were like some supermarket stuff from the fast food deep freezer. The haxen (pork knuckle) was not crispy and we sent it back for further roasting. The schnitzels were pretty good though. The food prices were not cheap…we ate much better quality similar dishes at lower prices just the evening before at another gasthaus in the city centre. I am very surprised at the 5-star rating given by some.

Gutbürgerlich (typical) German Gasthaus (pub). We had Sauerkraut soup with sausage for starters and it was spectacular. Next the Stiefel schnitzel which was delicious as well, not dripping with fat, and good fries to accompany. The side salad was a bit too generous with the saus, but tasty. The chocolate mousse nothing to complain about. Service was fast and friendly, but it was a pity that the pub closes early on New year's eve, which caused the waitress to rush us somewhat to finish up. Would be useful if it were possible to reserve online as this is currently not possible. Overall a pleasure to be here, recommended!

Delicious food and great beer. I’ve eaten there five nights in a row ! I’ve chosen something different for each meal. Every meal has been excellent. The staff have been very friendly and helpful.

Hearty, traditional German food in the heart of Bonn, and right next to Beethoven's house. I had the house special Schnitzel - all fried food so not for weak stomachs. Very tasty though. Great prices on beers with a decent selection on tap. The atmosphere really nails the German beer hall vibe, while still classy and had a few musical references. Highly recommended!

Got fried black pudding (I have since learned it is not actually pudding) and some beef liver sausage. It actually wasn’t that bad! Glad I tried some authentic German cuisine.

I wanted to visit this classic german restaurant for a long time but as I forget to book in advance, dont get to get in on weekend nights. When I did a couple of days ago, I was impressed by the beautiful interior. The service was great! But the food was simply bad!! No decent chef would cook this way. The cordon bleu was dry, hard, there was no cheese inside. Definitely over cooked. The Käsespätzle had hardly any cheese, just boiled and served with cooked onions over it. Such a disappointment! Maybe the real cook was absent?

We took our family here for lunch while my mother was visiting. We are a busy bunch (Grandma, dog and baby) and the staff were happy to accommodate. It was my mother's first trip to Bonn - she was delighted by the English book with images that helped her choose her meal: a wonderful intro to Bonn for her. Really friendly service with lovely food. To top it off, later in the day we realized my mother had left her glasses after we had returned home - they kindly offered to send them to us by mail. Top service and very kind people. Would highly recommend!

Good food. Dont expect fancy service but if looking for a German pub ("brauhaus") experience this will do it. Fast service.

We ate very well, typical German food was served here with excellent beers. The service was very good and fast but we found it a bit difficult to communicate in English. Our dog was accepted without any reservation. Well worth a visit, it is also relatively cheap

it's been there forever it seems and despite some changes it's still most definitely worth it

Good place to eat and have typical German food. One of their specialities is a schnitzel with mushrooms, bacon, grilled onions and eggs, as shown in the photo. A meal is around 20-25 euros per person including drinks.

The food was delicious and the portions are larger than shown in the picture book menu they have for those who don't read German. I recommend the Salad "Im Stiefel", as shown.

😐 Pizza is big and service is nice. Very full during summer days as you can sit outside with a nice view. Prices are ok for the offered food and beverage.

😠 Never ever again! 😡🤬🤯 Everything went fair till the moment of paying. The place did not accept credit / debit cards issued outside of Germany ( neither VISA / Master Card ). We tried 9 ( nine ) different cards from three countries. At the end, the manager on duty, claiming that we want to “steal”...
