👍👍 Immerse yourself in the life of the Macke family. A fantastic museum combining the family home and modern exhibition rooms in a separate annex. The exhibitions change there, so inform beforehand. You can walk through all the rooms in the house and learn a lot about the artist, but above all about... People often mention museum, Macke, exhibition, life, August, family, nice, home,

Immerse yourself in the life of the Macke family. A fantastic museum combining the family home and modern exhibition rooms in a separate annex. The exhibitions change there, so inform beforehand. You can walk through all the rooms in the house and learn a lot about the artist, but above all about the person August Macke. Be sure to take an audio guide. Only then does the house come to life.

The most beautiful museum in the world! There are not just pictures hanging on the wall, there are large, wall-sized pictures, photos, maps on the walls! Lots of interactive stations. Listening stations that aren't boring. I have never experienced such a lovingly designed museum! Everyone rolled there!!!!

A homage to August Macke! In the painter's home, his unfortunately short but intense life is presented in various thematic areas. You get very authentic insights into his personality, his family, friends, colleagues, his travels and this exciting era that strives for something new! His close relationship with his wife Elisabeth Gerhardt is very touching.

A very nice little museum. In the former home of the Macke family you can see many works by August Macke and his studio. You learn a lot about Macke and the family. The presentation - audio guide - is very good.

Atmospheric museum, it's a bit out of the center but definitely worth it. An insider tip!

Really fascinating. The historic home is, in my opinion, more interesting than the exhibition space, but that's probably a matter of personal preference. The staff were all very nice.

A nice museum! In the well-designed entrance area you are warmly welcomed by the staff, in Macke's home you get a deep insight into the life of the painter with his wife, family, friends and the temporary exhibition "Pretty Best Friends" about Hans Thuar and August Macke has brought us closer to an artist , which we didn't know yet. At the end, a wonderful conclusion with coffee and cake in the cozy museum cafe with delicious cakes! Recommended!

The former home of the painter August Macke offers a very nice insight into his living environment and his work. The entrance is in the extension building. There is also a cafe and a museum shop as well as rooms for special exhibitions. Pictures by Hans Thuar, a friend of Macke, are currently on display there (January 2024). This treat is very worth it!

Very interesting, diverse presentation in the studio house about the life of August Macke... then the special exhibition... you should bring 2 to 3 hours with you. Very friendly staff 👍

Very nice museum, didactically well prepared. The probe cell measurements are also always interesting. The small museum café on the ground floor is quite nice.

A great place. Very helpful and friendly staff and the exhibitions are well presented. The order of the exhibits, which is not immediately recognizable, is a little confusing. But that doesn't detract from the exhibition. Highly recommended!!

Impressive and easy to understand as well as informative with an audio guide. We missed the tour because there was a huge rush (Sunday) and the exhibition was supposed to run until mid-November. Has been extended until February. Very impressive painter. His social environment is also very well described and partly shown in pictures. Well worth seeing “pretty best friends”. The former residential building in which the exhibition/museum is located is also impressively described and explained. Highly recommended

Macke was essential part of my primary school education. His art is unique. The newly added building looks wonderful and probably explains an entrance fee of 9,50euros per adult. I could understand that some visitors might expect more. Short video about Macke`s life was insightful. Nice gift shop and small coffee place.

An absolutely worthwhile visit, you learn so much about the paintings of August Macke and Hans Thuar, their friendship - so many works that radiate joy of life and were painted in unique color combinations. And all of this in the house where Macke painted and lived with his family.

Very nice museum located in the old house of the painter August Macke. The museum displays a lot of his work while telling the story of his short life. Currently there is a temporary exhibition of his cousin Helmuth Macke which runs untill the 17th of June 2018. The museum has a nice cafeteria with a very pretty courtyard.

We enjoyed the visit very much. The museum was very informative not only about Macke, but also about the era and the artistic circles of Macke and his time. Friendly staff and also a good temporary contemporary exhibition in relation wit the The Blaue Reiter group. We also admired the small but well maintained colourful. Worthwhile visiting!
