👍 Often interesting and always challenging to one's preconceptions, this relatively large and appealingly arranged space is well worth the 15 minute walk from Bonn's more conventional touristic attractions. Afterwards, I can recommend the pizza place next door! People often mention museum, interesting,

Modern building with a pleasant room layout and thematically interesting exhibits (such as Kim Kluge on the female side of Beethoven). Friendly and competent staff. To date, works by 3,000 artists have been shown in 700 exhibitions, many of whom have since established themselves on the international art market. There is also a shop and a cozy café, as well as a workshop for children and young people.

Warmhearted people are working here. It is not quite big and needs money.. needs donation!! Go there because: you will get to know the history of women's participation quite clear. Also you find a lor of art, the "gertrudis kapelle", a shop and a cute cafe. They've also got bees there, you can buy their honey.♀️♀️♀️♀️♀️♀️♀️♀️♀️♀️♀️♀️♀️♀️

Really great museum, there are always exciting exhibitions here, the upper floor is huge, there was also a bar camp and a film screening here. A great cafe in the entrance!

This place is quirky and delightful, and seems to take a very relaxed attitude about what it means to be a museum. When I went there half the exhibits were on the floor waiting to be hung, but somehow it made for a wonderful viewing experience, and part of my though that they would be better left exactly where they were. The women at the front desk and cafe didn't speak English but that seemed to add to the authenticity of the place and the experience, which seemed magical and enchanted. The art was great too!

I keep it short this time … ;) Very interesting place/space. We went to see the Hildegard von Bingen and Flinta* exhibition and found a space that is very interesting. There are three floors and a rooftop terrace plus a little chapel inside the museum in which a gay sort of priest who marries queer people. He had a lot to say about his own (family) history as well as about Bonn (queer) history. The museum itself seems to be a low budget private run space. So don’t expect the wildest artworks or sculptures. But nonetheless there were impressive works by a lot of different artist. The only challenge was that not everything is translated to English like you might be used to from museums. So get a grip on your German skills if you want to understand everything.

A place which can provide scholars working in the areas of women empowerment, gender & feminism very useful insights related to the German society and it's historical evolution.

Very informative and when you're in your 70s, your own life as a woman passes you by.

Visit on Gertrude's Day, small, fine chapel with all sorts of collected works about St. Gertrude. You have to like the women's museum, changing exhibitions, small cafe

It was an interesting experience. The modern exhibition is great. However, it would have been better if archeological part was displayed properly, not like a pile of dusty rocks.

Love the museum, it’s impressive! But need the information in English:)

Friendly reception, but a poorly maintained atmosphere. The leadership (Hildegard v.B.) is technically questionable and more committed to traditional prejudices than to historiography. Some serious historical errors. There's not much that's inspiring about the artwork, but that's subjective. All in all, too much ideology and not enough reflection.

I don't speak good German so I could'nt understand what was written but I definitely felt the message that was in each and everyone of the piece of art. So viel zu sehen for sure!
