Alter Zoll am rhein is like a high terrace overlooking the Rhine and Buel on the other side of town. on sunny days it is a magnet for passers-by, tourists but also for a beautiful panoramic photo. Alter Zoll or the Old Customs on English is in Bonn is a former bastion of the Bonn City fortification, also known as the Three Kings . It was built around 1644 and is located on the slope of the Rhine bank on the private property of the University of Bonn as the owner.

Dieser Ort ist großartig, wenn Sie den Rhein sehen und eine schöne Aussicht haben möchten, sauber, ordentlich, das einzige ist, dass er kleiner ist, es gibt keine Bank zum Sitzen und die Mauer ist zu hoch gebaut, sodass Sie nicht können seht gut aus, wenn ihr kurz seid... Aber das piggled wao ist wirklich einen Spaziergang wert und es ist nicht weit vom Zentrum entfernt, es gibt Toiletten in der Nähe, mehr Toiletten auf einem Fleck habe i noch nie gesehen nur im Bonn 😅

On top of the hill an awesome view on the Rhein river. two old canons guarding the place and reminding of the old times.built with old rocks from 1815 till 1918 and serve as the old customs place of Bonn. There's trees and a statue to a german nationalist up there also. recommended for the view and history lovers.

Eine wunderschöne Aussicht mit toller Stimmung drumherum. Neben der Stadtbefestigung wird getanzt und es gibt Möglichkeiten etwas zu trinken. Ein wunderbarer Platz, um den Sonnenuntergang über den Rhein in Bonn zu genießen!

Der "alte Zoll" gehört zum Pflichtprogramm für jeden Bonn Touri. Schöne Aussicht über den Rhein bis zum Siebengebirge. Ein paar mehr Infos wären auch nicht schlecht. Wer's findet kann sich auch via QR-Code eine Animation zur Kanone anschauen. Nach der Renovierung vor ein paar Jahren mit kleinen Bäumchen neuen bepflanzt.

Tolle Aussicht. Der Biergarten ist auch zu empfehlen. Unbedingt hin, bevor es zu einer Dönerbude umgebaut wird, da gefühlt schon fast geographisch im Orient bzw. Naher Osten.

1.sonniger März Sonntag, Aussengastro noch geschlossen ! Dreck und altes Laub, sieht echt erbärmlich aus ! Spiegelt das Bild der gesamten Stadt wieder, überall leere Flaschen und To-go Verpackungen! Einige Wege sind für Fussgänger, besonders Ältere und mit Gehilfen, sowie Kinderwagen etc. unbrauchbar!!

It's a wall. You can go up and have a view onto the river. Not bad but does it have to be rated on Google? Hmmm, we all have too much time on our hands :)

Nice place to have a drink with an awesome view, but definitely avoid eating there. Staff is friendly and we got our money back for the "food", as it tasted burned and...I don't know, just look at the picture. Toilets are the worst and dirty.

You can get a panorama view of rhein and the seven hills or Siebengebirge. There is also a mice beer parlour nearby. Place is awesome except people littering the area. Broken glass bottles and smell of urine not welcoming. But let's focus on the historic importance of this place :) Be care ful and try not to climb the walls. Let's keep bonn cleaner :)

Nice spot, but like everything nice in Germany, Covered in stickers and graffiti. Comon sticker I see in Germany is "cars ruin cities" ... no you people do. Trash and homeless everywhere. And Europeans talk bad about America 😆

At the time we were there, the service was quick. One has to go with cash though since thee card machine doesn't seem to work. But also because you order as you pay. Nevertheless nice place to meet up wiqith friends and haabve a drink or share a meal.

Great location, staff and menu options. They have their own signature coffee which is a must have and the hummus/vegan breakfast is out of this world. Also their cinnamon rolls are perfectoo with coffee. Location is also great with greenery all around. Definitely one of my favorite places here.

I love this place, nice views and really good food, plus great drinks and quite cheap. But I cannot give it more than 2 stars - they STILL don't take card payment, there's only 1 person waiting tables taking orders for over 100 customers (to me that's basically inhuman or just really bad service, and customers get quite upset). The drinks and food are served pretty quick after ordering, but I see just one waiter/waitress carrying about 16 large beer glasses in one go, and it just looks so unfair. They seem to be making a lot of money, they are packed every day, but still, they don't hire more staff for the weekends! Surprising for this place, but not unique to Bonn - many establishments that run like this, sadly.

Alter Zoll is a bastion with superb view. Name recalls the customs house that stood here since the Middle Ages. 2 cannons dating from the time of the Napoleonic Wars are a reminder of this former military use.

Good for a tourist, prices for rooms affordable and positioned almost at the centre of the city. Access to train station. Staffs polite and welcoming

The second nicest place these days near the centre of Bonn where you can have a drink (from orange juice to beer) and have a nice view of the Rhine River.

Nice place to start a small river cruise ship traveling. In summer sorrundings looks better with the full of water and superb Rhine River. Even though the heat from the sun is more, the comfortable winds mkaes it so comfortable to travel.
