The place was clean, the beds were nice, but the experience was not good. We arrived earlier then the check in time (which is at 16:00), but it was closed and there was no place to wait. Actually, the only employee there was from the cleaning service and, although he was nice, he couldn’t help us. They charge for everything: bed linen, towels, breakfast (very expensive) and even internet (which we paid, but was so-o slow). To finish, you’ll find a shower that needs to be pushed everything ten seconds completing the experience.

The hostel was in a great location for our excursion destinations and there was a great playground and a football field right next to it. Minuses: 1) Aggressive permanent guest, which has also been mentioned in other reviews. Sometimes it gets physical. Absolutely disgraceful. As if he owned the hostel. Has his stuff everywhere. Use the kitchen for hours as a single person. 2) Emergency phone number doesn't work - We were assigned a parking space for a stroller. But it was locked up the next morning and no staff was present. The emergency number was also not manned. 3) Emergency exit goes through a rented room that is lockable. 4) When showering you stand deep in the water because the drains are closed. 5) Not all rooms have closets.

If someone is going to visit Bonn and has a small financial budget, it is recommended to stay at the Max hostel. It is located a few minutes walk from the Bonn Old Town and a short distance from the train station and bus stops. The hostel is very clean, there are many bathrooms with showers and a large kitchen where you can prepare your own meal or tea. During check-in, the friendly owner Michael will provide all the necessary information regarding your stay. I definitely recommend it. P.S. There is a dance school in the same building, so if anyone would like to take a few lessons, this is a great opportunity.😀😀😀😀

Location is its strongest point. The staff varies during the week, but everyone is always nice. Michael, the owner, is a great dude. Ask for Thomas if you'd like to meet an interesting guy with lots of life experiences. There's a dance room in the ground floor where people take classes at night, so keep in mind that it can get "noisy" for some (not my case tho ! i actually liked it).

Found Max Hostel by chance on the internet because we wanted to stay somewhere cheaper. I booked 6 bed rooms for women. It was the first time, I usually booked hotel rooms. I have to say...it's fine, you get to know a lot of people and it's a bit reminiscent of a youth hostel. (but not so dirty!) Price/performance ratio is great...you have what you need (bed linen and WiFi included in the price with inside) and towels you get for €1.50) and it's clean. Collective showers and toilets are really clean for the amount of people who are constantly changing. And that for just under €26 a night! Very friendly and nice staff! Conclusion: I'll book again because it's absolutely acceptable for an overnight stay! Thumbs up 👍

Rooms and sanitary facilities are simple, but neat and clean. The location is quiet and at the same time fairly central. You can't expect much service. But the check-in employee was friendly. If you are looking for simple and cheap accommodation, you can find it here, but you should be prepared to accept shared showers.

Besides the fact that you have to pay for freaking bedsheets, you also have to make the bed yourself...like put the covers. You also have to pay for towels, and INTERNET!!! Horrible place! The only nice Thing was one of the receptioninst, he was nice and helpful. Everything else was a no-no.

Budget hostel. It is located only meters from the city center and from the Bonn main station. Lovely and cool place. The facility has both shared rooms and individual rooms for less than 40 Euros.

It was very good for students on a short trip, the rooms were clean. Also positive: Lockable cupboard in the room Lots of toilets/showers so you don't have to wait forever You can let yourself in late in the evening using your key card WiFi works, but always has to be re-entered. It was exactly the right fit for our needs, thanks to the good location with lots of dining options within walking distance. We didn't use the kitchen so I can't say much about it, but it looked well equipped & there is a sofa in the lounge area.

Overall, the Max Hostel is quite OK. It is very centrally located, so you can walk into the city and the main station. The women's dormitory is satisfactory. There are lockable lockers. The bathrooms are outside the room, but there are enough sanitary facilities available. One disadvantage is that the reception is only open in the evenings. What I unfortunately found very unpleasant were some male guests in the hostel who seemed to have settled there permanently. As a woman, I didn't feel particularly comfortable there.

It was a nice hostel, especially for the price. The dorms are nice and small and the beds were comfortable although it would have been nice to have a plug next to the bed. Bathrooms were fine, but one of the showers was really dirty.

+ve's good location and clean beds and hostel. Late check nd booking was arranged smoothly - ve's lady at reception was impolite with me. Kept asking me to pay all the time and didn't have the patience to listen. eventually it was sorted but didn't like the way it was handled. Another gentleman (Hostel staff) told us in a condisenting way that we should keep the kitchen door closed. While I understand That,it wasn't us that opened and blocked the door in the first place, so I feel the atmosphere can be improved, which feels a bit hostile. However this is my experience and can differ for others.

Stayed there for 4 nights. Staff was mostly friendly. Rooms and bathrooms were clean. Breakfast is a bit expensive for that small choice (it's just breads with cold cuts and cereals - at least some eggs would have been nice). If you can, just bring your own groceries and use the kitchen in the common room. You only get 1 hour of Wi-Fi if you ordered anything in the café or had breakfast. Just don't expect much luxury and you'll be fine.

I'm not sure about the negative reviews I've read here, as my experience here has always been great, for each of the four times I've stayed here. The staff are friendly, the rooms are clean (and yes the doors do lock), and the location is convenient. It's not in the prettiest part of town by any means, but it's safe and close to basically anything you might want to visit in the city. Wifi is fast, but it costs €3 for 24 hours of access (or €1 for one hour), but other than that it's everything you would expect from a hostel. Breakfast is not included in the price, but for €3.50 you get a coffee and a bread roll, plus whatever you'd like on the roll. You can also have all you can eat for €6.50. In conclusion, if you're planning a visit to Bonn and want a cheap place to sleep, this is by far your best bet!

Centrally located in the city centre, you can also park your car for free only if there is space available. you will need to pay extra for linen, bedsheets so bring your own! The service is not bad, not extravagant, just exactly in the middle of the comfort zone. Bathrooms are great, so I give a thumbs up

There was some dance class going in at around 8pm when I checked in and it kept going till around 12am while the music was loud. I and 2 other people in the room were disturbed an asked them to turn it down but they didn’t want to listen and do anything about it. The internet is horrible...it’s as bad as not having it. I was just staying at this hostel for 1 night so it didn’t bother me much. It was fairly clean.

Decent facilities and really nice staff that are very helpful and friendly! The bathrooms are good but I did end up showering with a cricket. The rooms get very hot in the summer since there is no air conditioning but overall it's a very nice place! Also has good breakfast too.

Great hostel with some super friendly staff and guests who really made our stay here enjoyable. There is also (limited) free on-site parking if you choose to bring your own vehicle - or a rental.

The staff here are super friendly, helpful and accommodating. The location is just great. The communal kitchen provides a good meals area and place to meet people and the cafe reception is very convenient.

Bedding had to be made by yourself. Bathrooms also needed a complete renovation. Beds were very special and too narrow. I think you could get some out of it that would make you feel good.
