Dr Clabeaux and the entire Virginia Mason Ortho team were outstanding from initial consultation to post surgery for my total hip replacement. Unfortunately I don’t recall the names, but each individual who assisted in my journey deserves a special kudos-thank you all ! In surgery prep, Dr Clabeaux clearly explained the whole process easing my anxiety levels. He understood my personal joint issues and agreed to aspirate both knees during the hip procedure. I will return to Dr Clabeaux when ready for knee replacement.

I am absolutely sold on Virginia Mason Hospital, its staff, and its physicians. I went in for hip replacement surgery on April 13, 2022, after extensive pre-op exams, consulting, tests, etc. Like I say the surgery was on 04/13/2022 - fifteen days ago. I am now up and mobile and writing this from my home office. I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. Dr. Deysine is the best! I not only feel he is a really good orthopedic surgeon but every aspect of his care was on a very high professional level. I don't want to do this again anytime soon, but if I did I would do it the same way Lauren L Ellis

I was extremely afraid of having this surgery and the doctor and team made it very easy before and manageable after the surgery. I had heard so many horror storys about knee surgery replacement. I was ready for the worst experience. I had all the appropriate meds to help with pain and a tean that checked in me every day. The doctor communicated with me every day with My Chart to make sure I eas ok. Great Doctor with great team.

Dr Nichols did my right knee three years ago and I have had more than excellent results. My left knee has been the only thing holding me back from enjoying my passion for gardening and chicken-keeping. I have just had the left knee replaced and am looking forward to the same great results with it as I have experienced with the right knee.

I had total knee replacement surgery with Dr Gaston Deysine and received the absolute best care. Dr. Deysine takes the time to explain everything to you, thoroughly, answers all your questions, and keeps in contact throughout the process. My knee was terrible before the surgery. I am only 2 weeks post-op but my knee feels better than it did, and my mobility is already improved. The entire staff here makes you feel as though you are receiving concierge medical care. If you need orthopedic care, look no further.

I had a left total hip replacement five years after the right hip two weeks ago. I chose Dr. Mat Nicholls to do both surgeries for a reason. He and his team do a fabulous job. I was in and out of the surgery center in Bellevue within six hours and walking and climbing stairs at home the same day. He will do the right knee next (sigh).

I had a total knee replacement done by Dr. Kieras and his team. From the outset, he was upfront with information about my prognosis and potential treatment options. The surgery went smoothly, and it was obvious that he and his team cared about my outcome.

Doctor Clabeaux and his team have made my experience very smooth and easy. The actual surgery was perfect, it was my first hip replacement but I had NO! Problems and I have been walking since the day after.

I had a total right knee replacement on December 13th. Dr. Nicholls and the medical team have been nothing short of outstanding. Care, compassion and follow-up on a regular basis.

Best place to have Hip Replacement. My doctor, Jonathan Clabeaux did an excellent procedure, He is a great surgeon with experience, 100 precent surgical success. Extremely accurate results and he knows his way around. My total anterior hip replacement was an hour, and I’m a bug guy. Trust him and go to him if you have any ortho problems.

In addition to the professionalism/expertise of my surgeon, the 'team work', of all the others involved, gave me confidence in this process and in my recovery. The genuine effort to keep up communications all around, helped alleviate any fears I had of hip replacement surgery. In addition, my 'team" took care of an unexpected complication, I developed while still in the hospital, in a timely way. They quickly adapted themselves to my unexpected, added, condition, and met the need. I highly recommend the abilities, caring, and organized style of the Virginia Mason Group.

Considering this is only the second surgery I've had in my 68 years, I cannot say enough about the wonderful experience I had with Dr. Nicholls as my surgeon and the entire team at Virginia Mason that provided me with excellent care for my total knee replacement, start to finish. I felt supported from my first visit with Dr. Nicholls and it continued through surgery, my in-hospital recovery period and the follow-up support I have been receiving for the past two weeks. I so pleased with the results that if I need to have a second knee done, there will be no hesitation in coordinating this with Dr. Nicholls and the staff and Virginia Mason Seattle.

My hip replacement surgery with Doctor Matthew Nicholls and his entire staff was an absolutely phenomenal experience! I am so thankful for the incredible customer service and care provided from his team from start to finish! Doctor Nicholls, the anesthesiologists, and the entire nursing staff and recovery team were outstanding and exceptional in every way!

I was disabled from hip arthritis and I put off surgery way longer than I should have. I could barely walk with a cane. 3 weeks after surgery and I can walk 5 miles without a problem. Very little pain now. I had a great experience from start to finish. I wish I had done it earlier. My other hip is going to need replacement and I'm not nervous about it at all.

I was nervous about my knee replacement surgery but Dr Kieras and staff made me feel very comfortable. They explained everything to me step by step and put me at ease. Dr Kieras prior to getting to this point wanted me to try other options before replacing the knee. It wasn’t a quick decision it took several years but I am glad Dr Kieras took it through a process which was so much better for me. The team after my recovery was great. It took me a bit longer in recovery and they were very patient with me and made sure I was comfortable. They check in frequently with me through this cool app to check in and give me reminders and Check in status updates and a place to ask questions . They are very quick to respond and will follow up with a call if needed. The care I received from Dr Kieras and his team have been very warm felt and appreciated as this is a huge step and scary. I am in the recovery stage now going to PT and I can’t express enough the importance of doing your exercises and pushing through PT it will help your recovery go a lot better and the outcome will be wonderful. I am looking forward to hikes again and walking my dog and just feeling good overall.

If you are even considering a knee replacement; make an appointment for a consultation. Dr. Jonathan Clabeaux@ Virginia Mason Orthopedics is fantastic! The entire team is beside you every step of the way; from preop to postop and physical therapy.

Another Ortho wouldn't see me because my insurance wasn't good enough fir that practice. I'm so glad that happened! The level of care I have received from everyone at Virginia Mason has been outstanding. I'm recovering nicely from a hip replacement and look forward to decades ahead of pain-free walking. HIGHLY recommend Dr. Clabeaux and Virginia Mason.

On October 5, 2022, I had complete left knee replacement surgery. The procedure was performed by Dr. Jonathan Clabeaux, Orthopedic Surgeon at Virginia Mason Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in Seattle, WA. I am happy to report that it was an excellent experience. It is now October 25, and I just returned from walking 2 blocks with no pain. Before surgery, I could barely make 1 block before having to turn back around and return home. I am currently following the recommended daily exercises, going to physical therapy 3 times per week, and have returned to working out at my local health club. Knee surgery rehab is work; however I could not be more pleased with my progress and results so far. My first procedure with Dr. Clabeaux, was my right hip replacement in 2018. Because I was so happy with those results, is why I returned to him for my knee replacement surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Jonathan Clabeaux to anyone who is considering these types of orthopedic surgeries in their near future. Dr. Clabeaux and the Virginia Mason Hospital team provide the ultimate in care, competence, and results. Thank you Dr. Clabeaux and Virginia Mason Hospital for taking such great care of me!

Dr. MacDonald is wonderful and so is his whole care team! My nurse, Annalynn, who cared for me after surgery was incredible! The Anesthesiology team was amazing! This care team was the bright, shining light in this whole experience. Surgery can be such a scary thing, but with people like this to help us through, it's all good!! Thank you so much for keeping me well informed & guiding me to full healing! I appreciate you so much!

This was my 3rd knee replacement. Left knee replaced 17 years ago. The surgeon is now retired. Right knee replaced 3 years ago by Dr. Kieras. Excellent results. Left knee reconstructed/replaced 2 weeks ago by Dr. Kieras. 4hr surgery. Lots of work for Dr.Kieras. Excellent results. Literally no pain. Walked 6 hrs after surgery. Should be released from therapy in another week.

I've had a lot of experience with medical institutions, for myself & caring for parents long-term, with many hospital stays. Dr. Clabeaux & all the Virginia Medical staff were superb, for my hip replacement. Calm, focused, respectful, caring & prompt care by all, good meals, and short stay. My healing is without incident, ongoing contact post surgery shows they put a lot of thought into supporting their patients. Anyone I talk with, I share what an excellent recovery. I searched 8 doctors in the state, very concerned about my advanced hip condition, and so glad Virginia Mason & Dr. Clabeaux took care of my need.

The care and skill level at VM Seattle is first rate. The doctor's and PAs are very good, friendly, ready to explain and answer questions. The nursing staff is very diligent, knowledgeable and friendly. A few of them are difficult to communicate with and it gets worse as you go from medical to services. However that would only take it to 4.8. And the food, at least mine, was really good.

My surgery was 2 weeks ago. Dr. MacDonald spent time with me before surgery and answered all my questions and concerns. My recovery seems to be going very well. I have low levels of pain and my mobility increases everyday. I highly recommend Dr. MacDonals

I had hip replacement surgery by Dr. Clabeaux and his team two weeks ago. The procedure and my recovery have all gone extremely well. I would definitely recommend Dr. Clabeaux for joint replacements and will use him again should my other hip fail. Getting the surgery scheduled was challenging, but once the statewide Covid-related ban on elective surgery was lifted, things moved quickly. Pre-op appointments with Virginia Mason Physical Therapy and Dr. Clabeaux's team provided detailed information on what to expect, answered all my questions. I was well-prepared for my surgery. Dr. Clabeaux used the anterior approach for my hip arthroplasty, which I preferred due to the reduced risk of post-operative dislocation. Surgery itself went well and I had great care during my overnight stay at Virginia Mason hospital. Once I returned home and began my rehab, the GetWell Loop application has been great at communicating with Dr. Clabeaux and his team - providing daily updates and advice, and quickly answering my questions. The recommended exercises are definitely showing results. I'm beginning to walk unassisted and am looking forward to returning to a more normal life over the next few months. This has definitely been a positive experience!

Very happy with Dr. Nicholls communication, skills, and care for a total hip replacement (2 weeks ago). Far easier than I had expected. I'm pretty active and was surprised my hip was so bad, but he took time to explain, answer questions in a direct & not dumbed down manner, & left me confident this was the right path. Even while still in recovery I can see that it was. The freedom from pain is a revelation. Other docs and medical workers I talked to all commented unprompted on his skills as a surgeon.

I recently had hip replacement surgery by Dr. Clabeaux, and have had wonderful care by him, his team, nurses, and everyone involved with it. Now that I know this level of personalized care is possible, I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Their warmth and caring about your comfort makes the difference.

I just had my total knee replacement through Virginia Mason’s Center for Excellence program, it was amazing! From the beginning, Beth made the paperwork easy and promptly answered all my questions. Dr. Nichols and his team were OUTSTANDING!!!! The pre-op appointments were well organized and timely. Surgery day went smoothly, along with my overnight stay in the hospital. The anesthesiologists also helped make the whole experience simply flawless with their care before and after including calls to check in, following my discharge home. The regular texts from the medical team/doctor were also helpful. I am so thankful to Dr. Nichols!!! You rock!!!!
