Nothing much to say about the castel but the surroundings more than make up for it. I don't want to sound like it was a mistake going there - have gone there twice and will not hesitate to keep returning. The meadows, hills, water, Island, etc., Make for a great spot to picnic with the whole family. Highly recommended if you want a relaxing day out with loved ones.

We got there late so could only visit the gardens. The mix beautiful forest and flowers was really beautiful.

Going to this place was a sudden plan but its worth it. Beautiful place for a sunday outing. Kids will also enjoy

Very nice grounds for a summer walk! Did not walk into the castle, but the restaurant was open and seemed rather popular. At the same time you can visit a nearby church and have a nice walk by the water. I'd recommend parking on the other side than church - way less crowded.

Nice place for fika and relaxing. Palace rooms can be attended with guided tours, better book upfront.

Went here on a Saturday, it was a really nice area but expect that there will be a lot of people during summer. And it can be so warm too but there’s a nice forest close by where you can walk and get some shade from the trees.

On the day after "Midsommer night"...and it was not busy at all, for obvious reasons. Although we did not get inside de palace, the outside is quite pleasant on a day as hot as a Mediterranean summer day. The garden's resemblance to an English garden is also remarkably nice.

Beautiful furniture and interesting history. Cheap entrens and free use of device where you can listen to the history of most rooms. Nice gardens and pretty views.

It's a straight up castle from the 1630's! Built by Gabriel Oxenstierna (it means "oxen stair") for relaxing. - waterlake - apple trees - flowers - big lawns for picnic - church with funny headstones (one said "apartment owner") didn't see the inside but it looked good on the photos outside

Beautiful place to relax, walk and enjoy the nature. There is also was wedding, bride and groom were taking photos during our visit. Not so far you can find a lake- you can swim there, also a cafe. Atmosphere there is so calm. I recommend to visit this place. We were with strollers and it was easy to walk around. There is parking which is really close to castle (prices on attached photo). You can find one more parking 7-10 minutes walk. Near church is 3 hours of free parking for church visitors.

Very nice castle in the outskirts of Stockholm which definitively worths a visits. Although we were not able to go inside due to Covid-19 the building itself and it’s surroundings are worth exploring. There is a cafe and a restaurant that makes a great opportunity to enjoy some food/snacks in a nice environment. At the same time the garden and castle grounds are very nice and really inspiring for a walk!

Very beautiful place! I would recommend guided tour. Very interesting history! Also is fantastic location for hot summer days to enjoy beach.
