Our family dined regularly at Eccolas for years. I brought friends and customers to the greatest restaurant in NJ. Becoming friends with the talented waiters. Alas, I moved out of Liberal Dem, Socialist Marxist Communist, Sanctuary NJ last year. Settling into the Still Free State of Florida. Where our restaurants, many directly on the water serve fresh caught fish. However, nothing will ever compare to the high quality of Eccolas fine meals. I miss their non breaded Calamari appetizer, to die for. Along with Every Item on their menu. Thank You for years of hospitality and some of the finest meals our family ever enjoyed. Hopefully I’ll get back one day. Wayne Gibson

Large open kitchen and spacious dining area with lots of sunlights😃 The food was amazing. Photo is a shrimp risotto with asparagus and extra Parmesan cheese. Very satisfying. Their freshly baked bread is so good, too. It goes well with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

Ate lunch here twice on the recommendation of a coworker. We split a Caesar salad and I had the pappardelle. Both were excellent, the pappardelle was cooked to perfection and divine. My colleague loved her chicken dish as well. Staff is super friendly and efficient. Even during a busy lunch time, they had us in and out in 40 mins. You can’t tell how phenomenal this place is from the outside appearance, you just have to experience it. Looking forward to the next meal!

If you are looking for some great Italian then you need to visit Eccola. If you are going on the weekend, it is best to make reservations about a week in advance. The appetizers are very good and the portions are generous. For the main course, I had the pork chop. It is not always on the menu, but you can usually still get it and they will make it any style you want. My favorite is the stuffed pork chop with mozzarella and prosciutto. It also came with a side, the rigatoni with bolognese sauce was amazing!

We went here last night on a recommendation. We were not disappointed at all. From being quickly seated, to the attentiveness of the waiters, the quick delivery of our appetizers (highly recommended the zucchini flowers), and the main courses were presented beautifully and so flavorful. The desserts were delicious as well. We were checked on throughout the meal to make sure we were fine with everything and the atmosphere was so relaxing. Everything about this restaurant was point on. We will definitely be going back.

Dinner with girlfriends. Place was packed. Hard to have conversation. Servers were quirky - when asked if a dish was good, ours responded with a face that said "order something else". I had the carbonara. Loved it. Could have drank the sauce but instead licked bowl clean.

Came here yesterday with my boyfriend for the first time, we ordered the lasagna and i am still thinking about it. lasagna is my favorite food so i am a hard critic, i would rate this one an 11/10. i wouldve liked a little more sauce but either way it was perfect, although they did inform me that they only have lasagna once in a while. my boyfriend asked for a wine that paired well with the lasagna and i was given a glass of chianti that was delicious !! our server was a very sweet lady as well. We also got the calamari which was good, the kitchen even split it for us without asking! the bread and butter was also perfect. enough said, i recommend a visit :)

Beautiful gem of a place. Drinks, food, service & atmosphere were great. Nice bar or seating with a homely yet classy old world style feel. The food was very good, looking forward to trying other dishes here.

I will say this was a very unexpected gem. The service was amazing. The warm bread was perfect. The menu had some very good selections. I was absolutely amazed by the speed of the food. I'm not sure what to make of the fact that the entrees were in front of us before I was done with my first piece of bread! That said, the food was fantastic. The pasta is homemade and it tasted like it. The ravioli were amazing as was the cannoli. The only two very minor things to note... The speed of service was amazingly fast. I didn't feel inclined to relax and enjoy a leisurely meal. I think, from seating to leaving, it was maybe 40 minutes. I could very easily enjoyed the meal in twice the time. And there was not a wait for tables, so it's not like we had someone waiting on our seats. And the other quibble is the price was a tad on the high side. Not ridiculously high but probably 15-20% above where I would place it. But circling back to my earlier point...the food was so good that, if we had a more relaxed service it would have been worth the premium price.

Eccola has been our family restaurant since my teenage years. Now my kids are a part of this amazing family. Delicious food with the most amazing homemade pasta! Jeff and his staff are phenomenal!!!!

Excellent food. I ordered the big salad with chicken and a lychee martini. My friend had Bellini with the Aquila salad. Service was fast. They came with warm bread, right away. The hostess was so friendly. Excellent drinks. Definitely recommend. The exterior kind of reminds me of McDonald’s, but once you go inside your in a very elegant restaurant. My friend was wearing sweatsuit and I was more formally dressed, They gave us no issues at all. This is an every day kind of place, but also could be a very special occasion restaurant. Will be back .

Exceptionally good seafood pasta. Authentic Italian. Large serving sizes. Wish they had a lunch menu.

Little pricy for a night out but for special occasion. Photo is of grilled octopus and heart "chocolate" ravioli, kitchen automatically split and served appetizers- even though we didn't ask. I would pass on the ravioli next time and definitely would reorder the grilled Octopus, we also enjoyed the special of grilled pork chop with mixed vegetables and we switched mashed potatoes for broccoli Rabe, a bit pricy at $38 but well worth it. Had pistachio cake for desert - not very flavorful of pistachio and pricy. Our tables were elbow to elbow with neighbors and not very romantic or private at all.

I liked the ambiance, it was pretty busy. I couldn't find parking, since a lot of the spots are reserved for the store next door until a certain time I believe. I got a salmon, which was good overall, but found the portions to be small. Service was good. Overall a decent place.

This cozy hidden gem was on my TO-GO list for a long time. Finally, yesterday, we decided to pay a visit. It was 5 pm in the evening, so I thought we would get a table without a reservation, and I was right. However, I would highly recommend booking a table in advance. The place is small but perfect for a cozy dinner with your loved ones. The environment was warm and welcoming, with a bar set up in one corner and seating arrangements making perfect use of the space around it. We went through the menu and sought help from Marco in choosing the dish of our liking. We ordered Fettuccine Alfredo and Pappardelle Taormina, and it was ready within 10 minutes. My request for changes in the dish was also accepted. The pasta was delicious, and all the flavors of Pappardelle Taormina were perfectly balanced. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for authentic Italian taste and amazing service.

Service was great, very attentive. Food was just ok. The parmesan crusted porkchop was mushy and the spaghetti was overcooked. The gnocchi was also very mushy. Their Brussel sprouts appy with pea-sized Brussel sprouts. Best part was the bread they served with dinner.

I haven’t been to Eccola in about 10+ years since leaving NJ. Let me just say it did not disappoint from a food perspective. Friendly bartender that was on top of everything and made some great suggestions. Still ranks as a “highly recommend” place for some great Italian food.

We used to dine here in the 90's and recently returned. The grilled calamari appetizer is still amazing. Linguine and clam sauce is the best. Pasta fagioli, burrata , pomegranate and butternut squash special were delicious. Wait staff are friendly, atmosphere can be noisy.

Very nice dining experience, the service & food was superb. Coursing of the meals were perfect & the staff was so attentive without being over bearing. Great wine offerings + cocktails. Definitely one of the best Italian cuisines in the area, great job!

Overall a fantastic meal and restaurant. Italian fare done properly. The Veal Saltimbocca was probably the best I've had in many places. We are early as we were meeting friends, and by the time we were done the place was packed at 8:30pm. And we didn't feel rushed to wrap up the table. The specials list is varied, and the menu is what you would expect at a good Italian restaurant. One of our party must have gluten free as she has Celiacs, and she said their gluten free pasta was extremely good. Some very small negatives. Eccola is right next door to Patel Brothers grocery.....so the parking lot can be a bit challenging to maneuver and to get a spot. Also.....we were served the wrong item twice. First the wrong soup for an appetizer (immediately corrected) and then the ladies both ordered chocolate martinis for dessert but got espresso martinis instead (again immediately corrected). So not sure where the mixup was but in both cases it was corrected without question and didn't spoil the experience. Still rated a full 5 stars Would 100% recommend to anyone....and will be going back ourselves!

Good experience and the food is good. Felt a little pricey but worth it for the ambience and staff

Absolutely delicious food!!! From the fresh warm bread to start to the coffee and dessert to finish everything was out of this world. And the service was impeccable as well. It was expensive but it was fabulous. If you want outstanding Italian cuisine you must come here.
