I stopped in here on a Saturday while visiting Portland to try out some good beer and enjoy the atmosphere. We got there at 11am and glad we did since it was filling up while we sat there. They have a large beer menu and the cool thing is they have experimental options on the menu that you can only try in that location. We both got a flight and chose mainly experimental options. The service was quick and folks were friendly. It was also really reasonable in price and I'd highly recommend a stop in.

This place has one of the best beer i ever taste. We got the sampler for $10 and you can choose 4 of their beers. They have so many flavors to choose from. My personal fav is the the melon and sunfish. Meatball Pizza adds perfectness to our experience. I recommend this place to all beer lovers out there.

Enjoyed their beer flights. A lot of beer to choose from. They also offer flatbread and pizza to enjoy with your drinks. The waiter who said he will come back to get our order never came back. Had to wait for another waiter

On our trip to Portland we stopped by Shipyard Brewing company. I was told that the tap room recently opened up and we were sure to experience it. Tables were far apart (excellent adherence to Covid-19 regulations). We ordered two flights (4 Oz pours x4 for only $10). The beer selection is excellent (20 types of beers) to choose from. The Sea Dog Blue Paw blueberry wheat ale was by far our favorite! Light and delicious with an excellent blueberry flavor that is not overpowering. I must find where to buy this ale and get some. There is a cute gift shop by the restaurant as well where we picked up cute lobster Maine shot glasses.

We wanted to visit since we love the Pumpkin beer back home. It was a good experience. Did a flight of their experimental beers, a pint of the Pumpkinhead and a flatbread snack. It was all very good. The atmosphere was fun. Service was a bit slow but not a big deal at all. We would go back!

Clean and cool atmosphere. Really good beers - they have a wide variety of several different types to try. Some are experimental and not sold elsewhere, which is fun. Friendly service. Limited food menu, but what we did order was tasty. Pumpkinhead is my favorite pumpkin beer anywhere.

Classic find. Clean and the beer is top notch. One of the best breweries in all of Maine. Staff is friendly and courteous. Will always recommend them first. Can't wait to try their pumpkin beer. Cheers to a job well done.

They have a great selection of beer so that anyone will find one they like. The smashed pumpkin and the barrel aged smashed pumpkin(only available in cans) are incredible and so unique I have never had a beer similar to it. The summer ale is super refreshing and a great one to sip on a hot day. We tried almost every beer here and our party had no complaints we really enjoyed them all. The staff was also incredible so helpful and super attentive!

This is a great brewery in Portland Maine. We stopped in for a sampling & was not disappointed at all. I had the Blood Orange Wheat Ale & it was fabulous. The bartender was kind enough to let me sample a few beers to figure which was best for a full pint. They have a nice menu for some tasteful bites while you sip on your beer. There is a very worthy swag shop & carry out beer that rivals most liquor stores. This is a must visit when in Portland Maine.

Not bad, I'd say it's worth stopping in at. Good variety of beers on tap including some one-off / experimental / seasonal stuff. I thought some were better than others but that's all personal preference - good to do a flight and find what ya like. Overall vibe - kinda depends what you're looking for. It feels less "brewery-y" than other places I've been to, but I kinda like that there's a lot of room in their tasting area, they serve hot food, etc.

I love shipyard pumpkin head, so I may be a bit biased with the review. The taproot was a really good time, though, and the shop had lots of beer and gifts to choose from. It's definitely a must stop if you're in Portland.

We went there on weekdays, last week of August, it was small crowd. Had two flights and all of them were amazing. Great food, had cheese pizza and pretzel nugget bites. Service was amazing. Their soft drinks were unique flavor and family loved them.

Nice tucked away brewery in Portland. Very spacious inside. Had the famous Pumpkin Wheat Beer and it was pretty good. Definitely liked the Interior space if this brewery.

We like Shipyard’s pumpkin beer when we had it back in California so decided to go to the brewery to have it there. We were so excited to try it out. Just note that the initial smell can be overwhelming at first but it’s just bc it’s normal brewery smell. The beers were good and we enjoyed the pumpkin beer and the blueberry beer from Sea Dog Brewing the best. But those we’ve had back at home before. None of the new ones we tried were too memorable. Nice decorations of the place though and friendly bartenders.

Had fun here. Was with a friend that enjoys their pumpkin beer so we stopped to see what else they made. Kind of nice they paired up with Sea Dog so there was multiple beers to pick from. We got a couple flights and enjoyed it. Big portion of this place is the store too but there were plenty of tables to sit and enjoy the beer.

Shipyard is a really cool brewery to check out when in downtown Portland. They are of course most famous for their pumpkin beer, which they start serving on August 1. Their selection of beer is decent and they pair up with Seadog Brewing so they had 20 beer on tap when we visited. There are tables set up and there is a good amount of space with even a few tables set up outside too. They have food available too if you need a bite to eat. My wife and I both ordered flights of beer which are 4 sample sized pours of your choice. We ordered a margarita pizza also. The pizza took less than 10 minutes to be made, but the chef put a balsamic glaze on it, which it was not supposed to come with (see the menu for the description). I unfortunately don't like balsamic so the chef was kind enough to make another one without it like the menu described. I honestly was not a fan of the pizza and wouldn't order it again. It tasted alright, but the mozzarella cheese was so thick and dense and wasn't particularly melted that it eventually made my wife and I feel a bit nauseous later. Don't get me wrong, we love cheese but we felt like we ended up eating like a 1.5 lb block of cheese. It just didn't sit the same way as other pizza does.

We were there for some food and beer. They have a good selection of beer. We had a couple different ones and both were good. They offer a couple different sizes or you can order a flight. There’s several food options also. We each had a pizza and enjoyed. The pizza is one size and a thin crust. Plenty of seating and a good place to relax and enjoy a beer. It’s easy get to by foot or there’s street parking and a garage nearby.

Great place to try Shipyard Brewing beers. You can order flights and try a bunch or glasses for what you like. My favorite was the boubon barrel aged Pumpking Ale (seasonal). Pizza and cheese bread were really good and hut the spot after beers. Their store is well stocked with merchandise and beers for sale from bulk to 1 can. It was our second time in Portland and stopped here each time and loved it.

Flight and food were really good. Try the Smashed Pumpkin Bourbon Barrel Aged. So good!! I should have bought more!

The good parts were definitely the beer was great as expected and pretzels were awesome. Got to try some new beers and finally stamp off that I visited this brewery. The waiter and one other staff member we intetacted with on this Friday at 1 pm was not so friendly though. I'm not sure if my family & I missed something, but he had a terrible attitude at the 2 of the 5 of my family that didn't want to try the beers - they never brought samples we requested over - and overall seemed like our waiter didn't want to be there. It was not busy in least when we were there and we sat where we were supposed to, we were only a party of 5 so not sure where the negative attitude came from.... the gift shop desk person had a similar attitude that soured the visit. I would hope Shipyard looks at this and tries to improve the "bed-side manor" of its employees who deal with people. I don't like writing negative reviews but after a visit to Federal Jack's last year (which was awesome) and how they raved you should visit the flagship brewery, shipyard was a bit of a let down. Hope it is better if I visit again...

Beers were cold and overall solid. With that said, the actual brewery experience was pretty average with a large industrial space and sparse decorating, etc. Grabbed a sticker on the way out and had to wait several minutes for someone to check us out at the register. Fine place to grab a beer, but an average brewery experience.

Their pumpkin seasonal beer is to die for. After visiting the tasting room and trying their other brews, I was really disappointed. Had their flagship, summer and session - nothing to die for. Pros: The staff was really nice and tentative. They gave awesome stuff to buy in the gift shop.

Beer was good, people were friendly, nice location. It was great to see that they’re still keeping social distancing a thing!
