On top of its merits as an educational hub for learners interested in coastal ecosystems and environmental conservation, the reserve boasts an absolutely gorgeous bit of land that is open to the general public and perfect for leisurely, uninhibited strolls — no pets, no bikes, no motorized vehicles, no drones whizzing by overhead — when you need to step sideways from your lot in life. There are fees involved with accessing the grounds from Memorial Day through mid-October, but the reserve is open year-round from 7am - sunset, so if you make frequent use of it, it more than evens out. When you go, be sure to trek down to Laudholm Beach and/or Barrier Beach for great vistas of the Atlantic and up-close views of the Little River estuary. And, naturally, allow your interests to be piqued by checking out all of the educational programming the reserve has to offer by browsing their website.

Parking is $6 per adult and $1 for children. Try to bring exact change as sometimes they don’t have change to give. There are a few walking trails here. Be sure to bring big spray for the really wooded area. The straight beach path is not very buggy and is just a 10 min walk to the beach!

Wonderful learning and exploring center for this who like adventuring and gunking by the sea. Take a picnic, roll a cooler, bring a frisbee or ball. This interpretive center has great programs for kids and very good informational signage for adults. It's a great way for families to get to know the estuarine habitat - don't forget your bugspray!

Great spot to check out some local history, both man made and natural. Admission by donation helps promote the facility and their mission. Nice hikes, great history and good facilities made it a memorable stop. Follow the sighs, not your GPS/map app. Easy drive, plenty of parking, cool place.

A gorgeous nature preserve with several walking paths. Highly recommended for a family day trip or an afternoon picnic. Donations accepted for parking and entry. One of Southern Maine's hidden gems.

This place was everything we were hoping it would be. Simply amazing. Entry was less than $20 for a family of four- a modest fee that keeps the crowds at bay. We were one of just a handful of couples and families that were there, and we were the only people swimming in the brisk Atlantic waters. A tip: if you wait until dusk to leave, plan for the mob of mosquitoes that accompany the 0.5 mile walk back to the parking lot.

Nice well maintained trails that can bring you to a pretty secluded part of drake's island. There's bathrooms and parking is 6 bucks per person. The walk to the beach is about a half mile.

This is a fantastic organization - a beautiful location with incredible educators. We enjoyed an excellent educational program with Caryn that incorporated a nature walk and a guided tour of the visitor center. 10/10 would recommend this place!

Make sure you have the exact change unless you are good with donating the rest. We went on a Monday and a person was not available at booth, lucky we had enough dollars and change to make the entrance fee. It was a very nice pleasant and peaceful trail.

One of my favorite places to visit when I’m in Maine! I highly recommend spending some time on their trails (bring good spray with at least 25% DEET though). It’s also a nice walk through to the oceanfront! Good in the summer and fall colors here are astounding!

Maze of charming trails with many scenic outlooks. They are not long or hard, average between 0.5 - 1 miles. Mostly mix of dirt road, boardwalks reaching to the beach and overseeing marches. Nice art piceces along. Well organised - helpful signs. Gates and Trails open 7 am to Sunset. No dogs allowed, no bicycles. Ideal for families.

$5 per person fee is not a donation. Trails are well marked and very flat. Beach viewpoint is nice but not unique. You absolutely must have bug spray. Seemed like most people here were going to the beach - not looking for nature.

Nice place and plenty of parking. Kayak rentals possibly available, but didn't see a worker. Some trails had a boardwalk.

Variety of trails with signs offering brief but sufficient information on the environment. Accessible to families.

Although National Estuary not part of the National Park system. Although part of the land is actually a National park not covered by the America the beautiful card. Had a great walk to Loudholm Beach and Drakes Island. Paid for parking to get to the beach we’ll work it.

A great place to get out and enjoy nature. With a few trails to explore, including a nice walk along Drake's Island. The nature trails that take you into the woods are well marked and easy to follow but BEWARE OF TICKS. Make sure you check yourself during and after your walk. Plenty of great opportunities for bird watching along the trail as well as an abundance of chipmunks.

Beautiful boardwalk to a hidden beach. Clean, great view, nice walk. It was good for a stroller except for the end at the beach, where we carried the stroller down and back up a small set of stairs. Just all around wonderful place! We'll be back for sure!

(Translated by Google) A very beautiful place which gives a good overview of what the coastal zone must have been like before the arrival of the Europeans. Plan the mosquito repellent on the other hand. (Original) Un très bel endroit qui donne un bon aperçu de ce que devait être la zone côtière avant l'arrivée des européens. Prévoyez le répulsif anti moustique par contre.

Simply awesome wedding venue. No place we looked at offered this combination of natural beauty, flexibility, capacity, value, and authentic character. Tracy and Mark were our primary points of contact, and they were a pleasure to work with and very welcoming. The facilities were simple and beautiful. Really good set-up for just about anything you want to do. The barn is incredible. Feels like a space that has a lot of history and still serves multiple purposes. Also great for dancing! We loved that Laudholm was not just a picture-perfect wedding venue, but is also a working, living community space and environmental research center. Glad to introduce our guests to this place and support its mission.

This is a very beautiful spot for a nature walk. It involves rocky coasts, woods, board walks and salt marshes. Lots of lovely birds to see.

Beautiful! Well maintained trails and buildings !Excellent signage. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Bathroom was in decent shape. Walking trails are not hard on the feet. One path is an elevated wood walking bridge through a forest that leads to an outlook to the ocean. Picnic tables and benches available. I would recommend bringing comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, water and a rugged stroller. Bug repellent optional. We don't encounter any mosquitoes. Admission is five for adults, one dollar for kids. Cash only. Parking is free. If like nature walks, I recommend a visit. Seven miles of trails with one leading to the beach. Signs to the Estuarine say that GPS may not lead you to the correct address. Google maps did. Update: Sunday afternoon, November 2020; Took my daughter, son and friend. We only did the Laird Norton Trail. People are still visiting. No one is collecting entrance fees but a collection box is there. I paid the fee. Bring cash. Christmas 🎄 tree has been placed. Facemasks required. Bathrooms are in the same area and only one family at a time. My friend said she liked the walk.
