Tucked away down a small door is a corridor. In there, is a hidden gem in The Botanist. This visit was around 18:00 in the evening. It’s a beautiful hidden location with 2 levels. From the balcony, it’s looks fabulous with a great view of the circular bar area and a tree sprouting out of the middle. The drinks are really good and taste great. If you want to have a custom drink, they can do that too. The food options are great and we had a Camembert which was oozing with evil. I felt terrible after eating because it was so good. The main issue I had was that we ordered food which I think was given to the wrong table so it took a bit longer than it should have. Frustrating but no really drama. The staff are great, knowledgeable and friendly and I would definitely recommend going.

Dined here one evening recently and had a great time. The staff are welcoming and helpful. The range of meal is good and interesting. One of us was vegetarian and spoilt for choices. Lovely atmosphere in a beautiful old banking hall. Seemed to be good for couples and groups.

The Botanist in Bath was amazing. Fabulous atmosphere, awesome cocktails and great live music, but more importantly the staff were just fab You have to try the lily pad sour!

Had been to a Botanist elsewhere which had influenced my booking choice. This one was disappointing. Bar area is very nice. It felt very cold as the door opening and closing blew a gale in, but it was freezing outside. The eating area upstairs was lovely but the service wasn't the best. Ordered the speciality of the hanging kebab, and it came out in literally 2 minutes, which made me think it had been precooked. It wasn't particularly hot either. The desert took 40 minutes and 2 reminders to get and was only ice cream! Didn't like the added service charge and was then asked if I would also like to add a tip!

Really beautiful building and atmosphere. The drinks were quite imaginative and the food taste really good. However, the service took quite long and two out of the three people that were at the dinner ended the night with indigestion, bloating, and cramping.

Amazing experience, great life music. Staff was up and above with our reservation and helping us with birthday cakes. Very friendly and welcoming team. Highly recommend. Ps and it is just so beautiful inside 😍

The atmosphere is incredible. There is a pronounced regency feel, combined with the pleasant lighting interspersed between trees and plants dotted around the octagonal eating and drinking space. The Sunday roast with the extras to share is a must order, and don’t sleep on their hanging kebabs. The only suggestion I would make is to make the potatoes more crisp. Looking forward to coming back again!

A great lunch in Bath with friends. Tucked away in the centre of many buildings and accessible by just one small door, it feels like a bit of a find. Lunch for 4 included a main meal each and a bottle of wine, a cocktail and a large beer £115. Service was helpful, friendly and professional. Our waiter Luca was super busy, but was still able to make us feel looked after. The very slim guy who bought out our food and drinks was so good too. Lovely afternoon. Loved my belly pork hanging kebab. Thank you

Booked for dinner. Food was nice. A few vegan options Atmosphere was great. Would recommend for the food and bar area. Live music. Only negative was the cookie was more cake-like, was not the biggest fan of it.

Impressed about the Interior design, the food is good and the prices are average. Staff are always welcoming and eager to help. In the evening is quite busy at the bar but if you have the patience to wait, then is fine. Worth to give it a try.

What a stunning building. We had some lovely cocktails here. The staff were helpful and friendly. It's definitely worth a visit when in Bath.

A beautiful, stunning building inside which makes it worth the visit itself. The old pillars and amazing ceiling are just beautiful. We only came here for drinks but it was a lovely calm environment to sit in and enjoy ourselves. I had a lovely glass of Viognier but I thought price was a little bit on the nose. Service /barman was great though and I will be going back. Overall a gorgeous environment and lovely time.

Terrible food and poor service... We were greeted politely at the entrance but it took the employees over 30 minutes to take our order. It was our second visit after a year and we were negatively surprised by how the place has deteriorated. It also had a very unpleasant fishy smell. After we ordered the food (brunch), it arrived quite promptly but most of it was cold (eggs), the bread was stale and the peanut "butter" made from powder, probably weeks ago. Very disappointing. Not a single time were we asked whether everything was ok, and the invoice was almost thrown to the table. Sorry, we won't be visiting again anytime soon.

Great spot for drinks (downstairs) and good food (upstairs) Me and my partner had a few drinks and food at Botanist. Stunning venue with a circular presence. The bar is downstairs and benefits from ordering via NFC or QR codes and you dine upstairs. I strongly advise booking as it gets busy! Table was ready bang on our booked time slot and the service was very fast. Food tasted great and it’s fairly price. Cannot complain and would recommend to others!

I had an impromptu booking at The Botanist in Bath for my last night, and it exceeded expectations. The lush decor and botanical ambiance, especially the fake tree in the bar, added a unique charm to the old chapel setting. The signature drinks were quirky and delightful, served in a plant pot and a scientific beaker. The world-famous kabobs were a highlight, dripping with deliciousness. Celebrating our anniversary there was made extra special by our server, Eve, who was not only friendly but went above and beyond with a chocolate-written platter. The dessert cage was a perfect ending. A 10/10 recommendation for an unforgettable experience.

I had been excited to visit this establishment for a while and was disappointed when my Mum and I were turned away at the door, even when there were bookings available online. There were two young and very rude girls at the front door (also dressed terribly unprofessionally) and we were told that there weren’t any tables for food until 9pm. We left and went outside, booked online successfully, walked back in and were shown to a table. It was an extremely upsetting first impression, we were disgusted by the girls’ attitude. The experience luckily improved as our waiter was terrific and the food/drinks were lovely. The interior is amazing and overall it was a good experience - just terribly upsetting that we were originally turned away even though there was plenty of free seats.

Food was lovely but service not so great. Was told wrong time for restaurant opening, then ignored for ages, staff unprofessional, hugging In the middle of the restaurant, pushing in front of me on the stairs and general rudeness. Food was lovely though and cocktails were beautiful.

Can't wait to go back here! Genuinely so good all round. The food was delicious, amazing alcohol free cocktails (happy pregnant lady!!) And our server was so friendly and lovely. Want to try more of what is on the menu!

Absolutely wonderful experience at the Botanist! Every cocktail our group had was amazing! The staff were clearly knowledgable and enjoyed doing what they do! The atmosphere was lovely and there was live music for part of the evening.

There are a couple of other locations throughout the UK but don’t pass it by because it’s a chain. The Bath location has an amazing venue, called the Octagon. Drinks are downstairs and food is upstairs on an octagonal-shaped platform overlooking the bar. They’re allergen friendly and have many options for vegan, gluten-free, etc. The waiter we had was the sweetest little boy. I say that because he was 19… He was so genuinely excited to be serving us and wanted to stay and chat while we ate. He made sure our meal and experience at the Botanist was one we would remember, and he did! Try the famous hanging kebabs. You won’t be sorry you did.
