Best place in Mumbai for a one day outing. Major attractions are the mini train, Gandhi Tekdi, Kanheri Caves and Boating amongst others. You may hire cycles on rent if you love cycling or use your own. There is also shuttle bus service which plies between National Park Main gate and Kanheri caves. You can also use two wheeler or four wheeler inside to commute from one point to other. There are entry charges per person and additional charges for vehicles including cycles. Best time to visitv is rainy season.

It is also known as Sanjay Gandhi National Park. It’s a very crowded place during holidays though. Nice place but do not expect much as a national park. You won’t get a national park wala feel as you will find a load of people there. Kandivali caves is one of the good attraction there. It is a Buddhist caves in a surroundings of hills. There are trekking trails as well. And roadways too. Safari is not worth it.

The park opens at 5 AM for yearly and monthly pass holders and at 8 AM for the general public. Most people who go early go for walking and jogging. The entry fee for an adult is Rs.77/- as of June, 2022 and you are required to carry and ID proof with you. Vehicles are charged separately. We had cycles and each cycle was charged Rs.26/-. You can get your own cycle, rent it from a few centres outside the park or rent it inside the park itself. The rent per cycle inside the park is Rs.40/- per hour and requires some security deposit amount as well, maybe around Rs.300/- per cycle. The park closes for visitors at 6 PM. Also, a monthly pass to the park costs less than Rs.200/- while a yearly pass costs less than Rs.400/-. I'm not sure of the exact amount. Passes can be availed from Tuesday to Friday. Per person. you go in morning in national park, you can't finish in one day, it needs to take two days definitely for visit every part of this park. In middle of national park, there is water flow ( small River ) , and water is so clean. For visit inside the park, there is mini train and bus are also available. There is lots of animals, even some people says, there is lion too, but unfortunately we only seen deer, and wild cow. I loved this place so much, only once I went this place, I would like to go there again. I recommend you to go once, definitely you will like this place, but come in group, then it will be lots of fun.

The park is easily accessible by Borivali station in the east and lies on the Western Express Highway. 10 minute walking from Borivali station and 2 minutes from the nearest BEST bus stop. As of June, 2022, you can take a BEST bus 188 from Borivali station to Kanheri caves. Visiters can also share cabs like Eeco and Omni that ferry visiters from the entrance of the park to Kanheri Caves and back. There are restrooms and drinking water facilities at the entrance of the park. We planned to cycle till the entrance of Kanheri Caves which are located 6-7 kilometres within the park. The park is pretty clean and the road inside is pretty good for cycling. At some intervals, you'll find vendors selling cucumbers, star fruit, Corn, Lemonade etc. Best time to visit / cycle is during the rains on weekdays as on weekends, the path is crowded as it's not as fun. There are many other things to do in the park like Safaris, trails etc. but do check on it before visiting. The park is closed on Mondays.

A forest within City is a unique feature of this national park. Huge, fresh oxygen, & ample things to do for one day picnic. Cycling, Simple Hiking @ Kaneri Caves, Boating, Mini Train, Lion Safari, Tiger safari, Morning walk, Jogging, or just strawl....U feel fresh & recharged once you come out of it. Cycles available on rent, bus servoce every 15 min for kanheri caves (buddhist caves). Few Shanty houses are increasing locally at isolated places. It has so many ayurvedic plants & it supports biodiversity...

It's a good place to visit with your friends, it has all the basic facilities like benches, water dispenser, proper roads, dustbins and small food stalls for snax and lemon juices. You can visit points such as Gandhi tekari, small waterfalls, tiger lion safari, kaneri caves, boating, so overall it's a good place to visit
