The facilities are great and it is in a great location, but you better be prepared to pay for that! They love robbing students at every turn. You pay insanely high rent but still have to pay for internet, washing etc. You even have to pay if you get locked out and I had to leave my student card as a deposit when I wanted to borrow a measuring tape! Good facilities and location but it gets tiring being held hostage by their millions of rules and them screwing you over for money most days of the week.

Do NOT book your accommodation with this company. They are the greediest, most stingy company I've ever had to deal with, with the worst attitude possible towards their customers - because that's exactly what you are, a customer who gives them money, not a resident. They seriously don't care about their residents, all they want is your money in every possible way. Sure, the facilities are fine, but it's way too overpriced for what you get and the receptionist seems to actively try to be unhelpful and unkind! They don't take any feedback and take ages to respond to your issues so please, don't choose this accommodation, trust me, it's not worth it.

sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo stinky, wish i never signed a contract, staff are so absurd and rude and unprofessional, they tried to charge me 800 dollars on a fire bill that was meant to be 500, what's the point of a false fire alarm button if it doesn't work? This place is way to overpriced. Compared to other accommodation nearby for uni students. Do not sign a contract here, you'll get scammed.

Moved into this hole in March. It was a last-minute decision, and one I regret. Just terrible. Scamming international students with exorbitant prices, sub-par amenities, and atrocious management. I’m honestly quite disgusted by the clearly fake reviews on this page as well. Typical of this exploitative bunch of thieves. I’d like the $320 dollars I spent weekly to breathe in the putrid scent of the accumulated garbage my roommate left in the common room. I hope I can keep people out of your clutches.

Worst student accommodation in Melbourne, there is a construction site next to it that wakes you up every day. The administration doesn’t do anything about it even when every resident has complained. Also, the student vibes are really bad, almost no night life or social events. The projector to watch movies doesn’t work well, they don’t fix it and even if they did they don’t know how to turn off the lights of the room. Also the WIFI is awful and the place smells awful. In conclusion, don’t come to student village, it’s expensive and not worth it, go to an escape or a unilodge.

My friend lives there, and she has been feeling extremely disappointed with the security system in place there. It seems that they have failed to detect illegal subletting within the community, as one resident has sublet her room without going through the proper and legal channels for many times. one of the unauthorized tenant has displayed disturbing behavior, causing my friend to feel uneasy. The illegal resident has brought male guests back at night and used the shared living spaces without informing her female roommates in advance, causing inconvenience to everyone. When my friend initially applied for her living arrangement, she specifically requested to live with other girls and to avoid sharing with members of the opposite sex. Furthermore, this unwelcome tenant has used my friend's belongings without seeking permission, making her feel even more uncomfortable and unsafe. Despite committing trespass, the village has taken no action to address the situation. Overall, it has been a terrible living experience for my friend.

Do not stay at this accommodation. For the past 9 months there has been extremely loud construction work which wakes everyone up at 8am, sometimes even earlier. They also spring a room inspection on you during exam period and claim if it is not up to their arbitrary standards they will fine up to $200. They will try and get money out of you at every possible opportunity - they are one of the only student accommodations to pay a fee if your rent is late just by one day. The security are also occasionally ridiculous about over night guests. They have a rule about guests having to be signed in before staying overnight, which is understandable, however if you forget they can be so rude and unreasonable despite the fact that you pay a ridiculous amount to live there. I once forgot to sign in my 18 year old cousin, when it was her first time travelling alone and they kicked her out at 2am despite me explaining that it would mean she would have no where to stay and being able to prove she was my cousin. Overall I unfortunately have to say my experience at this accommodation was not a good one.

Unlike other accommodation like Unilodge, student village actually mandates room checkups and forces you to pay cleaning fees if your room is not clean to their standards. (Even if you pay for the end of contract cleaning, they still want to find reasons to get cleaning fees from you throughout the contract) Kinda annoying how these room checks infringe on student privacy and autonomy. Totally cool with rules that affect SVM image and brand, but these room checks are so intrusive and controlling. We had 2 men who did check ups, and it’s really uncomfortable having 2 guys inspecting a girl’s room. The cleaning standards are also very unreasonable for busy students like myself. I will clean my room so it doesn’t stink, have garbage on the floor, etc. But SVM check up guys literally pointed to two strands of hair on the ground, expected me to scrub the floor /tiles completely white or threatened me with a cleaning fee.

The noise from the construction site is irritating, MON to SAT starting from 7am, we complained to the council for million times and the resident assistant just decided to do nothing. I can’t believe the building management did absolutely nothing on residents’ complaint and still charge such a “merry” bill. Such a theft

Would never recommend living here to ANYONE. this place has the worst wifi i’ve ever encountered in my life, I’ve been here for 3 months and had to call the wifi company 4 times already to reconnect my devices. Not to mention the construction next door is literally right outside my window from 7am every weekday and 8am on Saturdays. The studio is fine and the view is great but way too expensive, nothing here is worth paying $500 AUD a WEEK?? The kitchen ventilation and appliances are kinda janky and dirty and I had to clean everything myself when I moved in because it was gross. The staff is nice and helpful but that’s really the only good thing I have to say, do not rent here.

I've booked a room from January 1st 2024, Large studio apartment for dual occupancy. Also Paid the bond amount and Apart from the agreement, there's no mention of the second renter. All ID proofs and documents are required for only one tenant. Yet I paid for dual occupancy. The bond payment receipt also mentions only one tenant's name. Will I face any problem while checking in?

I would not have signed a lease if I had known that there'd be a construction site right next door during the entirety of my stay. It is absurd that you are expected to pay 300-400+pw just to be woken up everyday at 7 am, without fail. The disturbance from the construction site renders the room practically unusable for studying (or simply just living in) - except for a short period of time after 6 pm. Dont waste your money here and look for other options, I guarantee there are significantly better student accomodations that aren't terrible, like this one.

Update: The management offered me a new room without the noises. That's very good. LOVE it! Construction noise beside the building is unbearable. I wouldn't pick this if I had known there would be construction site just next to my room.

Amazing location for a student - 2 minute walk to campus. The facilities meet everything you would need for a student moving out of home, including a pool table and pool! The resident assistants were lovely and always ready to help you out. You also get to have preferences if you’d prefer to live with some first years/want an all boys/girls apartment :)

The event was an after recovery brekkie. It was really nice; there were pancakes, fruits, bacon and everyone was super sweet and welcoming.

The location is great for Melbourne University. A 10 - 15 minute walk takes you to generally any of my classes on campus. I can practically see the campus from the apartment window. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The price is decent for the quality of the rooms and location, my preference is definitely the apartment ensuite room type. Its great having your own bathroom so close, and especially if you prefer high upkeep of cleanliness. The student village organises many activities every week, almost everyday. Its great to keep you entertained and gives variety to your week, the prices for any activities that require it are usually pretty cheap. The examples from personal experience I can give are laser tag and going to a cat cafe both of which were only $5 each. Pretty good deal if I do say so. It is also great to have a gym right in the building you're staying in. I've had many experiences of going to the gym at 1am being the night owl I am. My only complaints are minor, such as the bin room being a bit smelly, but that's generally unavoidable. Overall, my experience was very positive and would love to stay at the student village again. Would definitely recommend, especially for anyone who may have just moved out or started university.

Great place to use as a base while studying in Melbourne. Made my transition into studies and learning more about the new city I was living in very easy. A lot of other residents are often also in the same boat so new friendships are struck very naturally, especially if you are living in one of the shared apartments. The accomodation offers a varied residential life program which focuses on delivering both academic and leisure events 5 times per week to its residents.
