We came to The Village to watch a movie and decided to look for dinner instead of heading home and search for food. Service & Ambience [4]. We were asked if we made any reservations, and answer is no. We still got a table but need to leave within 2 hours. That is fine as we are not expected to stay up. Their service is good, friendly staff and explain their menu. The food didn't take long to arrive. Food [2]. Reading the most recent feedback, I seriously believe the management need to review the food portion and taste. We ordered two burritos and true enough, the meats isn't enough. Inside has more rice and veg. The taste, to be politely worded - not that strong. The taco 🌮 fish and prawn, weren't the best. I am not sure what's in the past, but need to be reviewed. I gave the sweet potatoes a thumbs up. Competition is tough in the food industry and at this stage where inflation is high, customers are going to be picky. Unfortunately we won't be back but hope to see more stars in the next few months.

Just updating my 5 start review from past experiences to 2 stars now. Unfortunately fonda have changed the menu and it's not so great anymore. The tacos are half the size and not worth the money . Two tacos for $15 and they are literally the size of a dumpling when folded in half. Burrito bowl had stale toppings and didn't have much taste . Same with the burritos. Rice had changed from brown to white and no more quinoa. Staff were ok but nothing special . We will now head to taco bills in Boronia for our Mexican! Very dissapointed as this was our go to restaurant twice a month for the last few years. First picture is original delicious tacos . Second photo is the new ones that are half the size and super expensive . $30 for 4 mini tacos 🌮.

Nachos were very good! Very fresh Salsa & Avocado...very generous portion also. Drinks were fresh and cold. Comfortable booth seating in abundance. I didn't enjoy the fish tacos BUT after I gently mentioned it they gave me a full refund and a free mocktail. Excellent customers service, warm and welcoming environment 👍

Good food and good portion size. Enjoy everything ordered. Only downside, service very slow as only 2 staff on the floor. Very hard to find someone to come to your table for service

Been coming here for years, food is decent but I'm pretty sure everything has shrunk whilst the prices have increased. Tacos seem smaller, and used to be charged in singles and now only in doubles, so if you want to try two different types you need to order at least 4. Service is still good. Atmosphere lacking a little because the place was empty when we were h ere on a Sunday afternoon

I was here for dinner with a friend. The the food surprisingly came out quicker than our drinks. Overall the service and food were both average. For the price point, again, it is a fairly average serving size.

Pleasently surprised by this place and had a nice dinner here. The food came really quickly and service was good. Staff were friendly and polite. Food portions were just nice. They also have gluten free options which is helpful for those with dietary requirements.

We ordered beef tacos and chicken salad and unfortunately the taste wasn’t too good. The sweet potato in the salad ruined the taste. The Taco was soft shelled but not bad. The restaurant decor and customer service is excellent though. My recommendation is to try something else other than the salad.

I came here to pick up a bunch of food around 2:15 pm on a Sunday after not visiting for at least 6 months. After reading some of the recent reviews I was concerned that the food was going to be bad but I was pleasantly surprised; it all tasted just as I expected it to taste. The chicken in the chargrilled chicken quesadillas was cooked correctly and not burnt although maybe chargrilled at some edges (not a bad thing) and the accompanying aioli tasted good, the tortilla chips with guacamole and pico de gallo tasted good, the fish tacos were good and the chargrilled corn was also good. The only very slight negative is there seemed to be slightly less filling in the quesadilla, maybe 90% filled compared to previous times. It was super quiet when I visited too, I'm not sure if that affected the quality of the food. Really happy to also see that Fonda have finally brought back the Feed Me (for 2) menu which now comes with 1 x nachos, 2 x tacos of your choice, 2 x chargrilled corn cobs and 1 x quesadilla (of your choice), all for $55 which is around the same price as it was back in 2017-2018 I think. Considering how quickly restaurant prices have increased it's actually amazing it's not $60+!!! The girl who served me on the phone was also super helpful and patient as well as I hadn't decided on my order before calling. All in all a good visit and better food compared to my last visit at Fonda Chadstone.

Worst nachos I’ve even seen in my entire life. No guac. No salsa. No sour cream.. Just luke warm corn chips. Disappointed to say the least.

Looks like a cute restaurant. We passed by and decided to pop in to hunt for some yummy food. Unfortunately, we had a bad experience. We ordered FEED ME meal. During a quiet hour. Took ages for the meal to be served and the meal served burnt. Super bitter on every bites. When we opened up the wrap and realised all chicken pieces were burnt. Awful experience. Waited for service, I’m pretty sure we had eye contact with the waitress but they just walk away. Few waitresses can’t see us keep waving at them. I had to walk up to the counter and informed them my meal wasn’t coming until now. Then only realised to make it. I meant if the restaurant was having rush hour, I could forgive all these unpleasant experiences but it’s not dinner time. Only 3 tables at the time, why do I still need to experience these terrible service. Sorry to say, not gonna visit again.

To our surprise this place was amazing! Not a crumb left over 🥲 I wish I took photos because every dish we had was delicious and full of flavour with the perfect amount of spice! Service was great too and we’ll be returning soon ✨

Tasty food with a good level of spices. Loved the sweet potato chips. A bit of a difficulty with the split payments. But the staff did their best.

Bad experience, will not go again. I ordered chicken and chips for my kid. The chicken is dark brown to black. I asked the waitress if it was overcooked. She said sometimes it was like that but they could remake it. Then we got another two pieces smaller dark brown chicken. And two Tacos was waited for more than 15 mins though there was only a few customers. And no forks or knives or tissue if you don’t ask for them.

I almost had a great time at Fonda Mexican with a friend tonight. The food was apparently delicious and fresh, and the service was friendly and attentive. Bill (using an alias for privacy reasons), the manager, wore an awesome Hawaiian shirt and made us feel welcome. He apologized for the kitchen closing at 9:30 pm. We loved the idea of food at 9:30 pm, especially after a couple of beers and were seeking the ambiance and the comfort of spicy Mexican food that Fonda could have offered. But alas we had to settle for Bill’s shirt. We rate Bill’s shirt 5 stars. 👌

I first had Fonda in Collingwood 5 years ago and it was great then but now it's even better. Unlike most fast food Mexican not every option on the menu relies on a bucket of cheese. Meats a flavoured well and vegetarian options are great. The menu has gotten healthier which is great also. House made sodas are a nice touch rather than the bottles Mexican ones. Favourite new thing on the menu would have to be the Zucchini chips! Careful though! They're steaming hot inside!

Nice, modern casual restaurant with a great environment. Ordering is done via a QR code so the venue is card only. Food was served reasonably quickly, but the portions were a little on the small side. Food was delicious though! Would come back.

Very disappointing that the online menu doesn't detail all ingredients used in the dishes. I order the pulled pork quesadilla, without pineapple salsa (No option to remove pineapple itself) as pictured I had to pick out the pineapple from my meal. Too bad if I was allergic.

Thought of a fancy restaurant so we gave it a try Poor customer service, the food does not even taste Mexican. Disappointing experience end up buying KFC for misses to keep her happy.

Nice place for Mexican food located in Knox ozone precinct. Staff are friendly and helpful, The food is very nice although the burritos are quite small compared to the generous helping in the burrito bowls even though they are the same price.

A friend and I went for dinner here. Food was a good proportion. Very tasty. They are cashless. Staff friendly and helpful. Lots of seating in and out

This place does not disappoint!! Have been a bunch of times now and food is always amazing, service is always great. They have a range of different drinks, however the coconut margarita is out of this world! Highly recommend! Kids options are great too! Love that I can take my kids for a decent meal out.

Been here a couple of times. It is slightly pricy and portion sizes are small. Was pleasantly surprised with the burrito bowl. Big portion, lots of great flavours and textures with cruncy chickpeas and nacho chips but the salmon was very salty. It tasted like bits of cooked smoked salmon which did ruin the fresh flavours of the rest of the dish. Would have rated it 4-5 stars if it was a nicely cooked piece of fresh of fish. The beef brisket burrito was average and plain. Would have been nice with a small token salad to fill the plate. Cashless payment. But no warning of card surcharges so was a bit surprised when there was a cost and no signage.
