Took me a long while to get myself to Heathmont to try out this lovely restaurant. It was worth the wait. Enjoyed every dish we ordered and had 2 lovely ladies watching over us through our meal. Slightly more expensive than other Indian restaurants but I think the service and attention is well worth that extra 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼 A good place to go in small or large or intimate meals. My pictures don’t do justice to this place. Will be back for more!

Delicious food. Amazing location on the way from SkyHigh Dandenong to Melbourne. Loved the food.

We ordered 4 curries and naan. Butter chicken was cleary cooked in just a can of tomato and no other flavour. All we could taste on butter chicken was canned tomato so no one could eat it. It was total waste of money. Worst Indian meal ever .The portions of food was not worth the price neither the taste. We have had Indian takeout many times before but this was the worst testing ever.

Service and food where amazing! Our friends took us to this local restaurant and it was fantastic. Can't recommend it enough!

I got a delivery from this place. Not at all happy. Food did not seem fresh. I asked for lentils with spinach but there was hardly any spinach. Paneer tikka had food color, paneer was not fresh and had no flavour whatsoever. Really disappointed. Not to mention its overpriced.

Nice place for Indian food. The lamb biryani and chicken curry were full of flavour but my favourite was the garlic naan. The naan was the fluffiest I’ve ever had! Highly recommended!

Excellent customer service. I placed on order through UberEats but realised that I had not specified no nuts for my friend. I called up to request it and although they had already prepared the food, they were willing to remake it without the pistachios at no cost or trouble at all. The food is great too!

Edited : Just wanted to make sure we reply to the below statements from the owner. Thanks for responding. Let’s go through this. It seems like we were late for our booking, no not really. We booked the table for 8 pm & the email confirmation said, if we would be late than 30 mins, let the restaurant know, we got there 8:15ish, so I don’t see an issue there. We did not mention the food problems to the staff, not true, I did express my displeasure towards the food, both while service & when I went up to pay. We too leftovers home, nonsense, the food was really not up to the mark, we left most on the table. The reason to drop a review was to make sure customers know what they might get. Also, the way the owner has bent facts & tried to push the blame on the customer, speaks volumes of the place. All the best, I’ll leave it there. Review : We had gone here with my brother and his partner last night to have some nice Indian food. We ordered the non-veg platter, which had too much colour and the chicken was dry. We went ahead with mains, got the kadhai chicken, malai kofta and daal makhni. The chicken in the kadhai had a distinct smell, suggesting it wasn’t fresh. The dal makhni had too much turmeric, to a point it was a bit bitter. The rotis we ordered were plain ones, but were served butter rotis. Overall a forgettable experience and would nit recommend this place to anyone. Also to add the staff wasn’t to great, will definitely give this a miss. For the price charged, Utsav was very disappointing.

Amazing food and Service. Have been getting food here for 5 years and never been disappointed. Service is always attentive and perfect even when super busy.

I found this restaurant very pricey considering the size of the main meals. $20.85 for 1 small bowl and a medium size bowl of plain pulao rice extremely expensive. $32.95 for prawn masala with only 5 prawns in the dish and mainly onions, is a bit overpriced. $7.95 for 2 spoons of mango ice cream. $22.95 for daal, $22.95 for eggplant curry, with very little eggplant. Overall quite disappointing. Serving sizes for mains very small, no value for money.

My visit to Utsav Indian Restaurant was a letdown, despite the glowing reviews I had heard. While the service and hostess were commendable, the culinary experience fell short of expectations. The chai was a disgrace, lacking the authentic flavor one expects from a good cup of chai. Additionally, the biryani, though decent, resembled a pulao more than a true biryani, missing the aromatic essence that makes it special. The samosas were a disappointment as well, noticeably undercooked with an off-color appearance. However, amidst the disappointments, the pista kulfi stood out as the only saving grace. It was rich, creamy, and bursting with delightful pistachio flavor. Despite its excellence, it couldn't salvage the overall experience. The raita, meant to accompany the biryani, was another disappointment. Instead of the refreshing yogurt-based condiment with cucumber, it appeared as curdled yogurt mixed with cucumber, leaving an unpleasant texture and taste. While the staff was attentive and the service satisfactory, the culinary missteps overshadowed these positives. I regretfully cannot recommend Utsav Indian Restaurant based on my underwhelming visit. The lackluster execution of basic dishes, such as the chai, biryani, and samosas, leaves much to be desired. It's advisable to explore other Indian restaurants in the area to find a more satisfying dining experience.

I wish there was a rating 0 available here to give unfortunately it's a no and so is the restaurant. Do not recommend this restaurant at any cost paid $ 24 dollars for a potential little quantity biryani with no raita and when asked Raita will be provided for biryani right ?? And y have have you charged $7 for small cup of raita ?? And answer from the manager was ... You Wish ? Wouldn't it be nice to get it for freee? Lol yes I wish this store doesn't serve people over prices cheap food with unprofessional customer service . I also wish you learn how to do customer service and when a customer who is paying $80 dollars for a biryani and chicken Tikka you have the audacity to speak to customer in a tone and laugh at person who is paying over price of there hard earned money to your bad food and customer service Worst customer service ....worst food If you are planning to have apleasant night eating Indian food do not go here to a spoil your mood.

Great quality authentic Indian food.Staff are so friendly.parking is always easy and food is really the best around.we highly recommend.

Apart from the food which is always more than satisfactory, we love the ambiance. Furthermore it is always immaculately clean and we love the white starched serviettes and table cloths - a rarity in this day and age!

Very nice restaurant!! My partner and I took my mum in law there for dinner on Saturday, loved the service and the food was very good. The kebab and chicken platters were very yummy and so were the vegetarian dishes were all very good and just the right spice. My son and daughter loved the tasteful Christmas deco and the beautiful tree they had up. The place was very nice and the owner was a very nice and friendly person. We will definitely be visiting again especially for the great food and service!!

Came here for dinner on a weekend. Staff were quick to show us our table. Orders were taken quickly when we were ready and meals were served shortly. The vindaloo was spicy enough and the madras was great. The place got busier after 7pm but noise level is minimal. Booking required? Yes we booked. I think it is recommended to book for guaranteed seating. Parking? Plenty of parking space outside. Easy to find? Yes. It is along a major road. Will we come back? Definitely.

The best Indian restaurant in the area. High quality food and always polite service. We usually do takeout but have dined in a couple times. Their lamb vindaloo is one of the best I've had and my husband can't go past their butter chicken. My son loves the pappadums which they include in their takeaway orders (thank you!).

We recently moved nearby, so this was one of the closer options for Indian food in our area. Needless to say; we were more than surprised to find our new local was easily the best Indian food we've had. We have order from Ustav of a few occasions now, and it has consistently been delicious. Staff have next failed to greet us with a smile. For two people; we typically order two dishes, and this usually gets us 2-3 meals worth. (Dinner + Lunch + a little extra)

We had a birthday banquet for 35 guests. Food was excellent and the service attentive. All our guests enjoyed the event. Fully recommend this place.

Incredibly expensive and very mediocre food. We asked for a very hot curry and it was mild, the rice was dripping wet and the onion bhajis weren't bhajis.. they were soggy half onion rings. We usually get same order at a much higher quality for $27 cheaper elsewhere. We thought that as we're new to the area we would give you a try. Never again.

Superb food and excellent service. There was a slight mixup with my order but they were lightening quick to rectify. I cannot speak highly enough of this excellent restaurant and their amazing, mouth-watering food!

Worst experience... The customer service is so bad ....U feel like walking out the moment you enter the place.... Having a serve of biryani and paying $24 dollars for it and it is only good enough for a child Chicken tikka should be called as red food colour tikka... Do not recommend this place do not waste your money nor time

This place is always great. Been going here for years and it never fails to please. The staff are great and the food is excellent I love the Pumpkin marsala!
