Lovely brunch place with a rotating menu. On this occasion I got Chase the white rabbit which was very tasty. Because they change their dishes, you’ll always get a new experience if you come back later on down the track. The quality of food is always good and the Cherry blossom latte was great. It may be hard to find parking as there are limited parking spots. Expect to spend around $25-30 for a dish.

I have been here twice and it always very popular. It's quite unique to the area. The service is very professional - they run a tight ship! And I feel for the poor chefs who have to prep the ginormous menu. Almost too many choices. I had the squid salad which had the right amount of spice and a refreshing iced chai. My friends also liked their meals.

Visited the area to check out Drom and decided to have brunch. Parking was a challenge within the complex, best to find off-street and walk it. Service was prompt and friendly. Coffee wasn’t too bad but the food was amazing. We ordered the Curiouser and Curiouser. It was big enough to share for two. Very rich and hearty. Very good presentation and flavoursome. I would recommend. Overall atmosphere, quaint and jolly all at once, depending where you sit. We had a relaxing time.

As a fan of Alice in Wonderland and a huge fan of sweets, I needed to experience this place. What’s a better opportunity than buying something sweet for my birthday and after looking online I was more than happy to drive 40 minutes for cake. The parking at around noon was very difficult as they share the spot with a few other places, a sign to point customers to other parking spaces would be helpful. Thankfully I did manage to get a spot to run in and pick my selection. The atmosphere was great and almost full of people ordering eat in meals. But I was there for cake, the display was incredibly impressive and loaded with all sorts of delicious desserts. They looked amazing which made it a hard choice, glad I did read the menu prior to know what flavours I wished to purchase. I think having a brief description under the name would be helpful, a quick flavour profile. I was served quickly and while waiting for my choices to be packed I decided on getting another. Considering how technical these desserts are reasonably priced. I ended up with four and I’m really happy, they all tasted different and I’m in love with all of them. I think the Cheshire Cat and hatter are my favourites I’ll definitely be looking to make another trip here and hopefully this time to enjoy their meal selections.

The prettiest brunch place I’ve ever been to! The Alice in Wonderland themed decor is so beautiful. Quite a large area with lots of seatings. Must book on the weekend as it gets quite popular. The menu is amazing, a variety of choices of savoury and sweets. My favourite dish is “Chase the white rabbit” (Japanese omelette with avocado smash and prawns). The flavour of the sauce is unique and delicious, prawns were sweet and crunchy, tasted as pretty as it looked! All the presentation of the food we ordered was on point. Unfortunately, the dish “Unicorn Delight” was not available on the two occasion I’ve visited. There is a large sweets bar where you can buy take away or eat in. Highly recommend the orange rabbit cake for take away!

Absolutely loved this place. We were able to sit and watch them making the cakes. The cupcakes were so pretty. I didn't even want to touch them haha. A little on the pricey side. But worth it. We only got cake coffee and shakes so can't comment on the food. But it's absolutely beautiful place and the kids loved it! And they were very helpful when we had a spillage and also giving us take away coffee cups to put our left over shakes in for the kids to take :) would be beautiful for a bridal party high tea or even a baby shower or something.

Excellent place to chill and dine with friends and family. There is a wide variety of food, with the cornflake crusted chicken being really awesome - the Tweedledum burger! Kids friendly place and nice piped music. Service is prompt and friendly. Overall a fantastic place to dine!

A beautiful, open and bright space with epic Christmas decorations. Great for photo backgrounds. The lunch and breakfast dishes were generous and tasty. A large selection of gorgeous pastries. The two we tried were delicious and intricately made by some talented pastry chefs, who you can watch though a large glass wall. Onsite parking space is limited, we parked across the road near Bayswater Hotel. Great atmosphere and food.

Best cakes in town! Such a great variety of sweet and savoury deliciousness 😋 if you want to check this place out be sure to book as it's very popular. The atmosphere is fantastic, a real wonderland and great for the little ones viewing pleasure. They also have a wonderful range of vegan treats and offer adjustments to cater for all types of dietary requirements. Even if you don't want to go for lunch or breakfast, stop in and grab a handful of cakes. The serving sizes are VERY generous and can definitely be shared between two people.

I've heard of this cafe for many years and finally I got to try them. I wasn't disappointed at all. The food was delicious and well presented, and the atmosphere actually exceeded my expectations. They put so much effort in the decor that it becomes a real fun experience to eat there. I also like the fact that they have a huge dessert range and quite a few vegan options too. Definitely worth a visit if you haven't been.

Amazing magical place with different themes based on the ongoing season and festival. So Instagram-able! We loved everything food, service and atmosphere. It’s a bit overcrowded due to being so popular. So make sure to reserve a spot in advance. Staff members are amazing and ready to accommodate any of your dietary requirements with the help of chef. Definitely will be back!

The menu, a fusion of inventive flavors, tantalizes the taste buds with each bite. The staff's warm hospitality adds a personal touch, making the dining experience truly memorable. A visit to The Hatter and the Hare is a journey into a gastronomic wonderland, where creativity meets exceptional cuisine.

Quaint little themed restaurant in the style of Alice In Wonderland. All day breakfast and a small lunch selection with lots of cute dessert cakes and sweets. Food is amazing - lots of fresh ingredients with a playful twist on Alice and her adventures. Portion size is on the large size so make sure you are hungry. Be aware that parking here is a complete nightmare - so either come at a quiet time or plan on parking opposite or down the road.

The food choices were epic and the flavours were amazing. The portion sizes were large and the price reasonable of the main courses and drinks were very reasonable. The decor is beautiful and the atmosphere was joyous if a little loud. The service was good however because it took us so long to decide what we wanted from the excessive choices we were told we only has 15 minutes to finish dessert then it took them 10 minutes to bring our pre chosen deserts out. The desserts are amazing and under priced for the amazing works of art they are. I only wish they made them smaller so I could have tried more of them. Pick your desserts ASAP so they don't run out. The place is popular for a reason. The take away desserts are a all we'll priced. I'm considering booking for a child's birthday party.

Love the environment! So nicely decorated, alot of attention to detail put into this themed Alice in Wonderland styled place. Even all the food on the menu corresponds to the movie, staff service is friendly and on-point. Can easily accommodate small and large group with ease. Indoor and sheltered outdoor seating available. Highly recommended!

Had the absolute pleasure of dining at The Hatter and the Hare with a friend of mine. It's been a while since I've been this impressed with the divine food, drinks and shakes on offer. On top of this, the decor inside is phenomenal and the customer service is excellent. While the menu at a glance appears expensive, the serving sizes are generous and the quality of the food and ingredients are well worth it. I couldn't recommend The Hatter and the Hare enough.

The place is very nice and staff are amazing. Breakfast was great and the coffee was exceptional. The only issue was the carrot cake dressing which was not expected. The dressing was not smooth. We also asked for extra scramble eggs and without asking they charged us for two extra eggs. Generally overpriced.

Went there with my friend yesterday and we had a great time and a great meal. The atmosphere was bustling with positive energy and it was good that we made a booking otherwise I dont think we could've gotten in. The items on the menus had very intriguing names that will catch your attention. If you're wondering what your food will look like when it comes out then you can easily access the online menu which conveniently has all the photos of the dishes. I ordered a vegetarian version of the King's roll whilst my friend ordered chase the white rabbit. We did wait for a bit for our meals to come out but it was well worth the wait. My friend and I both loved our food. After we finished we decided to try their fancy looking cakes. It was such a pity most of the cakes contained gelatin and I didn't get to try the fancy looking ones. But I did get the vegan spiced apple cake while my friend got to try the fancy King's hat cake. Mine was quite good but the frosting was a bit too sweet for me. It was a bit disappointing that most of their lovely cakes contain gelatin. Otherwise I would've loved to try them all. I hope they do make other cakes without gelatin in the near future.

Such a beautiful place where decorated with different theme each season. This is the most beautiful brunch restaurant I have ever been to. The decorations are extraordinary. You will be amazed when you come here. The foods here is alright. In my personal experience, the taste is not on point and it didn’t match well between the ingredients. I have been here 2 times with my family. We had the chances to ordered quite a lot for sharing as well. However, there is nothing impressive since last time compare to this time. The staffs are friendly and take care of us really well. I love the patisseries here. The cake is so delightful and beautiful. Overall, I would love to come back.

Had one of the Christmas specials, prawn roll. Really delicious and generous amounts of prawn. The deep fried prawn bits were so good! Coffee was great too! Whole place is beautifully decorated with Christmas theme. Definitely felt very festive in there. Highly recommended.

I joined my Bestie for a delightful Christmas breakfast treat at this charming establishment! The place exudes an incredible vibe, and it's evident that the owners have taken great care in adorning it with festive decorations. The overall appearance was truly awesome and immersed in the Christmas spirit. The food, for the most part, was fantastic, with one minor exception—the floral garnishing didn't quite hit the mark for me. While exploring the kids' menu, I noticed a slight limitation in options; unfortunately, there were no offerings of French toast or pancakes. This was a bit disappointing, especially considering that the main menu featured French toast, albeit geared more towards an adult palate. On a positive note, I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to purchase delectable treats to take home, adding an extra layer of appeal to the experience. The service was impeccable, contributing to an overall great dining experience. Cheers to a memorable Christmas breakfast!

I always love it here. Coffee is great, food is excellent and the service is efficient. It had a beautiful atmosphere and it is exquisitely decorated. However, the last few times I've gone here, the coffees have come out slower than the food. It would be nice to have our drinks served before the food so that they don't go cold whole we're trying to finish our meal.

Decided to try this place out finally. I had KNAVE OF HEART’S TREAT $25.00 (Brioche French Toast, Peach Pie Filling, Salted Sweet Corn Ice Cream, Whipped Vanilla Mascarpone Cream, Cornflake Crumb, Burnt Honey, Pashmak, Raspberry, Freeze-Dried Berries) - This was just the perfect sweetness and loved the peach pie filling which was thankfully not sweet at all. I loved the portion size of the mascarpone cream and whole meal. I was able to finish it without feeling high in sugar or yucky feeling which I would normally feel having this kinda dish. My friend ordered the BENEDICTINE ADVENTURE $29.00 (Chorizo Ragu, Poached Eggs, Saffron Hollandaise, Charred Tomato & Pepper Salsa, Pickled Mussels, Crispy Jamon, Charred Lemon, Green Pea Dust, Sourdough) It was very filling and they couldn't finish it as it was a lot. Recommend this for sharing unless you are a big eater. At last we tried Hatter and Queen from dessert section. Loved hatter as it was less sweet and loved the subtle pistachio taste it had. Queen was a bit too sweet and it had too much mousse filling in it which was nice but couldn't finish it. They were both too beautiful to eat and they have done an awesome job with the decorations and each detail. Costs: It's on the expensive side for two people it cost us about $87 for two main meals and two desserts. We didn't order or try any beverages from here so cannot comment on them. One negative thing about this place would be: we felt like they were hurrying us to finish as there were not many tables for the amount of reservations. So if you are planning to stay longer and have a chit chat this isn't the place. The chairs were not comfy too. But loved the decorations inside and atmosphere. Staff were helpful and attentive which was lovely. Due to the prices of this place I wouldn't visit here again. Also there's limited amount of parking so have to park across the road.

I just love this place. The ambience, staff & of course the food is fantastic. It's a gem & great find & my daughter-in-law took myself & her Mum there for Mother's Day one year & have been there a few times since for birthdays etc. I've also recommended it to friends who just loved their experience there also. You won't be disappointed, so give it a try. Only one thing to mention, it's not licensed!! Also, check hours it's open on their website & their fabulous interesting menu.

A brunch spot in the suburbs with a huge range of food on its menu. They basically a different spin from the classic brunch menu such as the eggs Benedict or baked eggs. Sweets are also plentiful with cakes and donuts - though they sell out quick if you intend to come by after lunch on a weekend! Pricing is a little bit more expensive then your standard Melbourne cafe but the decor and choices makes it a fun spot to bring your family to. Booking is recommended and although on site parking is plentiful, you might struggle to find a spot during rush hour. However, turnover is quick so if you just wait for a few mins, you might find a spot.

Had a blast with friends here at The Hatter and The Hare. The cafe's was filled with magical decor (during our visit, they had a Hollywood film theme going on) is a fun touch, with whimsical teapots, a film box, fake food and magical decor hanging from the ceiling, photo sets, and deand mismatched furniture that create a unique atmosphere. We dove into an assortment of delicious cakes, and they didn't disappoint. The service was friendly and efficient. If you're into cool decor and great desserts, this place is a must-visit. We're definitely planning a return trip! If you've never visited, you're definitely missing out!

The food was pretty good, and the waiting staff was friendly and helpful - however, our order came out missing a side, table water was forgotten, water glass was cracked and needed to be replaced, and I stood at the checkout for almost 5 minutes while a staff member stood within 0.5 metres and said nothing, before finally asking me to use a different register (no, it wasn’t something the customer could or should have known). At the toilets, the vacant/busy colours were not functioning and people stood there trying doors marking the person inside feel uncomfortable before joining the crowd who were waiting. At one point it turned out that one of the toilets actually was empty and no one knew. So, while visiting The Hatter and the Hare was interesting, they struggled to pull it all together.

Just an incredible spot for brunch! The ambiance and decor were absolutely stunning and unlike any other cafe we’ve been to. The food was also excellent and came out in a matter of minutes, even on a busy Thursday lunch service. We ordered the Tweedledum Burger which came with some of the most incredible chips we’ve had, and the Kings Roll as a vegetarian option which was equally amazing. Can’t wait to come back!

Step into the Hatter, where the Alice in Wonderland theme takes your senses on a delightful journey. This charming café truly takes the concept of a themed eatery to the next level. The ambiance is enchanting, with whimsical decorations and playful furniture that transport you into the fantastical world of Wonderland. But Hatter doesn't just rely on its theme. The menu offers tasteful food that is as pleasing to the palate as it is to the eye. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty breakfast, a light lunch, or a delectable dessert, Hatter has you covered. Each dish is meticulously prepared, delivering a fusion of classic and innovative flavors. The pretty cakes at Hatter are a sight to behold. Decorated like works of art, they are as delicious as they are visually stunning; each slice is a symphony of flavors. To complete the experience, Hatter is accompanied by a related bakery next door. This ensures that you can take home some of the magic with their delectable baked goods. With its immersive theme, tasteful food, and pretty cakes, Hatter truly offers a wonderland of delights. It's a must-visit spot for anyone seeking a unique and memorable dining experience.

The Hatter & The Hare. Or as it is currently Bayswater Melbourne's own Christmas Wonderland. The moment you walk in, you are greeted by the friendly and professional staff. Service is a lost art, but these staff are eager to meet your needs. Then there are Christmas decorations everywhere. I was lucky enough to meet the owner, George. Soft spot already my father's was name. You can tell he is very passionate, dedicated and proud of his business. The menu was full of variety and is seasonal. Then there's the Deserts. Wow talk about artistic. Of course all complimented by great Beveridges and wines, beer and spirit. There's also take away and you can pre-book cakes. Sounds like I was pretty taken by this place and I was. The next time I am in Melbourne i will be visiting The Hatter & The Hare without doubt. P.S. George advises me that when we visited there was more decorations to adorn. Thanks George and staff for a great experience. Merry Christmas

Yeah, this one is difficult to rate. The food that came out was B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L. But I've got to say, the menu was confusing and overwhelming. I thought it might have been me, but then I heard the waitress explaining the food items on the menu at one table and then over hearing another table say "I don't know what this is, it's too much and too hard to read", I knew that I was not the only one. There were so many elaborate options on the menu it worried me that not everything may be fresh. Walking past the kitchen, things seemed clean and I could see tape over opened jars with open dates. Clearly, they stay on top of things. In the end I ordered cake for lunch as I simply couldn't understand the menu. I feel like I missed out on some incredible dish. If I was to go back, I'd probably research the menu before I got to the venue so that I don't vacuum up so much time reading the menu and instead focus on the conversation of the person in front of me. Again, hard to rate. The food that was served was beautiful. Just wish the menu was easier to understand.

Located in Bayswater, this is quite the establishment with an Alice in Wonderland theme. Service was excellent with very attentive staff and great coffee. The Tweedledee burger was excellent with generous portion of chicken and fries. Knave of Hearts treat with orange French toast and ice cream was a treat. Yes, everything is Wonderland themed and named! Lots of cake selection too, but we didn’t have any. Note that everything is on the pricey side for what it is, so that would be the only negative

Love the decor. Absolutely world class...well more like upmarket NYC/London class! Staff were excellent, typical Aussie hospitality quality! Parking is an issue but its still worth braving crossing busy Scoresby Road, if Malvern Road is chocos.

The change in menu throughout the year and lots of variety is what makes me go again and again. French patisserie are visually very pleasing and also tastes good. This Cafe makes me forget that I am living in the suburbs away from city. More importantly into a section called Queens court, dogs are allowed. This is a covered area indoors.

Been told extremely busy place for brekkie and not wrong. So make bookings. Food servings are ample, you won't be eating lunch. They have very interesting recipes for their dishes, and even though it sounds strange, it is very delicious and worth visit, if you are game to try something different. The floor staff serving at the tables are friendly and obliging. The setting or theme of the place is gorgeous. You can tell they take pride of their venue. It is very worth while visit. Just remember there is never enough parking there, so best park in surrounding areas, on this this weekend we went, there was no splitting of bills, plus there was a 10% surcharge - not sure why.. To us we felt it was a little steep, seeing the pricing is abit higher then average breakfast else where. But give it a go, and decide.

I'm a big fan of The Hatter and the Hare. Since discovering this hidden treasure trove in Bayswater, I have eaten here many times, and introduced numerous friends and family members to THAtH's delights. I enjoy it's creative artistic atmosphere and yummy food- the decorations change every few months and menu is seasonal and ever evolving, giving me a reason to keep coming back. The cakes are beautiful artworks and staff are mostly friendly and helpful. They will move you on after 90 minutes, so eat fast- and it's best to get there early so you get choice of cakes as they are popular and sell out quickly.

May need to book before you go. Parking on site, but when it's busy, park at surrounding area. Ordered the shared meal, celebration meal. Loved it, just enough for 4 of us ladies. Overall experience is great.. Just one thing I don't really enjoy. It's the macaroons box we bought home. It's not chewy how I thought it's should be. Other than that, it's good.

Love the atmosphere and overall layout/decor of the restaurant! They change it from time to time, and it always feels so festive and vibrant. loveliest brunch spot ever, the interior of this cafe is absolutely beautiful and mesmerising! They offer a variety of teas and coffee and my favourite is the cherry blossom latte 🌸 they offer vegan options as well, I personally recommend the sharing platter and their mock turtle bowl 😋 Their cakes are absolutely exquisite, it’s almost like eating a work of art!! The combination of flavours are extremely creative and tasty, plus they are sooo beautiful to look at 😻 The prices can be a little pricey for some, but it is surely the ultimate brunch spot in the area 🙌🏻

An absolute gem in the suburbs! I live walking distance from the cafe and love seeing the beautiful flowers and displays out front when I go past. The quality of the food is lovely, and the cakes are so intricate and beautiful! Visually the dishes never fail to impress, and the desserts are some of the fanciest that you'll ever see. Everything about the Hatter and the Hare is so Instagram worthy, it's like you've stepped into a real wonderland! Love all the fresh roasted beans and coffee merchandise available for sale as well.

Take a trip into wonderland for a whimsical experience. ⠀ This beautiful Alice in Wonderland themed cafe offers a seasonable menu and a large selection of sweet treats made in house by their pastry team. The food will make any guest feel like royalty, including families. The service is always exceptionally friendly and prompt, and the food always impresses. Definitely don't forget to check out their desserts and grab something to go! It's a favourite spot for us!

Beautiful ambience and great service. The bread and butter pudding had a wonderful texture and flavour. The chilli scrambled eggs was perfectly cooked and the sauce had a well balanced spiciness. Overall this place has a good selection in the menu with some exquisitely crafted desserts for someone with a sweet tooth. Would definitely recommend The Hatter and the Hare as a must visit brunch outing 😊

We ordered a first birthday cake and the attention to detail from first enquiry to pick up was fantastic. They customised to exactly what we requested and the cake tasted amazing!! Also very reasonably priced! The only suggestion would be a drive up or pick up area as parking can be a bit tricky especially on the weekend! Thank you Jenny and Team!
