What a great place! Went here for my anniversary brunch. Had a table outside, but not in the hot sun. The food was absolutely delicious. As good as any cafe that I've eaten at anywhere. The staff were friendly, and the service was good, without being intrusive. The meals were a good size (and, as you can see, presented beautifully), and the coffee was fantastic. The meal choices were put together creatively, with an international feel. Lorna is an unassuming place, in a little local group of shops, but they are doing it well. Definitely at the top of my list of places to eat at, when I'm in the area. Thank you for helping to make our day so special.

Lovely atmosphere and great coffee. The service was good too, considering it was a busy Saturday morning. However, it did take a little while to be greeted and seated. There is plenty of seating inside and out, but parking was busy out the front. Our food looked amazing and the Avo Toast was great (especially with the extra bacon) but the baked eggs looked better than they tasted. They lacked a little flavour. The menu had plenty to choose from. However, the standout was the baked goods in the display cabinet. They looked beautifully homemade and delicious. I’d love to come back for one of those.

Enjoyed coffee and food here. We especially liked the cakes. We had one with pistachio and a raspberry cheese cake (I think). Atmosphere is really good too.

Parking out the front on service road but it was packed, we were lucky to get the last one when we arrived. Greeted at the door. Lovely food and drink. Seating is not very comfortable and I hated their flimsy knives - much too flexible for thick cut toast. Place was near empty but nice vibe and good level of upbeat music. Felt a bit weird that staff were packing up the shop and wrapping food at around 2.00pm, felt like they wanted us out. Service was slow in a take it easy kind of vibe but not a long wait. I would recommend/return.

Had this cafe while going to the 1000 steps walk, this is one of the best cafes I had. The egg on toast was super fluffy and the milkshake had tons of flavour. Overall everything was a good thumbs up.

The best cafe within 5km and in the area, but it’s become a bit of a victim of its own success. I’ve been here at least a dozen times, and on weekends, it can feel abit like nightclub. With that being said, the staff do an amazing job in serving everybody, and the food and coffee is top notch. Parking is a major issue though - you may have to do a few rounds or park quite far during peak times.

We came to this cafe after parkrun and a quick read on Google review, we were so glad we came! It was very busy, we had to wait for a few minutes to be seated but the service was nice and friendly, we didn't mind waiting at all. I love the scrambled eggs with chilli oil, the east west fusion is the style I like, the egg was also cooked just perfect for me with a little bit still raw at the top. Love the coffee too, there are cold brew options as well, well done guys!

Whatever you are doing with the chicken and waffles, NEVER CHANGE! The waffle is one of the best I've tasted in ages! And your service is unbelievable. We were really late with a booking and had a party of seven plus a dog. You guys accommodated us so well even when two needed to pop inside to get out of the cold. The coffee, food and service are excellent and we have been talking about this breakfast days after we ate it!

One of my favourite places to visit when I'm in the area. Fab coffee, great variety of cafe snacks (the dark choc and walnut cookie is to die for imho!), and ample amount of seating. Parking can be tricky during peak periods but so worth it to dine in or even get takeaway! They also have discounted coffee for emergency service workers (just need to be in uniform) which is 🙌. Perfect for those following a plant-based diet as you will have plenty of options. Coffee can take a while when it's busy as well so plan ahead a wee bit if you're in a rush! EDITED: bummer they took off the vegan chai but service is still top notch. Love the seasonal menu.

Amazing breakfast dining. Wonderful staff dedicated to keeping customers happy. Food is amazing and well presented and coffee was great. Even though very busy, food and coffee were brought out in good time. Will be including this Cafe in my regular visits. Highly recommended.

Such a lovely cafe with amazing breakfast & lunch options different to normal fare. Has a good selection of veg and vegan options. Great brewed chai & hot drinks. They even have homemade crumpets for little ones & wonderful sweet bites to take away.

We found this place online with really good reviews so decided to check it out. After a 30 minute drive, on a weekday, we were seated immediately and as we sipped on our very delicious batch brew coffee, the cafe filled up in no time. Despite the rush, we were served promptly and thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast. The atmosphere is very relaxed and inviting, the staff is warm and friendly and the food delectable! Will definitely come back here again!

After completing the 1000 steps in FT Gully, I visited Lorna Cafe for some food. I was greeted by Fraser, a kind and gentle man who took my order promptly. Unfortunately, due to a miscommunication, my order was incorrect. However, Fraser was quick to apologize and went out of his way to correct the mistake. He promised to make sure the chief made my food quickly and efficiently, and in no time at all, he brought my corrected order to my table. The food was absolutely delicious, and I couldn't have been more satisfied. It was the best cafe experience I've had in a very long time. I want to express my sincere gratitude to Fraser for his excellent customer service and for making sure that my experience at Lorna Cafe was a great one. I highly recommend this cafe to anyone who is looking for a tasty meal and a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Thank you, Fraser and Lorna Cafe!

Went this morning to celebrate sister in law birthday, the atmosphere was welcoming, service excellent and most importantly food was very delicious. They have variety and cater for all dietary requirements specifically vegan. avo toast perfectly toasted, seasoned and presented. Benny pork belly beautifully crispy from outside paired with hoisin glaze, chicken&waffle tastes as delicious as dished up in the plate. Coffee and tumeric late tasted so creamy and flavorsome. Must visit Lorne Cafe, this cafe is not to be missed

This is an award winning and obviously popular cafe. When we visited it was wildly busy especially with takeaway coffee orders. The food was pretty good and the staff friendly but the management of orders was out of whack in our experience that day. Of the four of us dining, we waited a long while before the dishes started arriving. Two finished their meals before the other two had arrived, and drinks were forgotten. Some came halfway though and the remainder came out long after we finished our meals. We were also double charged on our drinks which we didn't realise til we'd already left. Will give the benefit of the doubt that it was a once off due to the busyness and possible short staffing. I'm sure it's a better experience during quieter hours.

A tasty brunch. Staff were super welcoming and friendly. Great Industry Beans coffee. We had the healthy bowl and bruschetta with chips & celery salt. Portion sizes were generous.

Came here for brunch, beautiful styling and venue. Food tasted amazing as well. However was unable to add avocado as I was told they were running out. Also took over 40 minutes from when we ordered our food to receive it.

Driving through the area we were looking for somewhere for Breakfast, read some of the Google reviews and decided we had to check out Lorna and boy did it well and truly live up to the reviews!! The Staff were all so fantastic, very attentive and friendly, the food was incredible!! we had the Chicken and Waffles YUM, very flavorful, well presented and such a generous portion. The Coffee was great and the entire atmosphere here was spot on! We will definitely make the trip back here again! A+ Thanks Team

Ahhh cannot believe there is a gem so close to home. Staff were so friendly and attentive, food was fresh and flavourful, coffee was top notch, and the cafe was really nicely decorated with relatively easy parking and lots of seating inside and outside. I booked a Sunday for 2 at 10:45am and highly recommend booking as it was peak brunch / breakfast time. Bircher muesli was apparently really good - my friend ordered this and said everything went well together and tasted fresh. I ordered the asian squid salad with avo on the side. Likewise, it was really fresh and went well with the mirin and soy dressing. We had stayed about an hour or so just chatting, and reservations were starting to pop up. Staff kindly asked us to start wrapping up and even apologised. We understood and went to get ready to pay and leave. About 5 mins later staff informed they had found another spot for the pair and we could stay longer. They were really nice about it! I’ll be back to try some other goodies! Absolutely loved my experience.

very spacious and soothing interior design! enjoy the savouries a lot, we ordered the chilli scramble, avo amd lorna crumpets, the avo was a surprise with a well-balanced flavour profile. they can cater large groups with a dedicated are that seats around 5-7 adults or with little children. large seatings also have plugs available but not all, parking is not particularly hard but may need a few min walks if the front run out of space. wil revisit again 😋

Delicious brisket burger, it was very filling. The meat was tender and the vegetables brought a good crunchiness to each bite. The sauce was nice and sweet with a nice hint of saltiness. Additionally, the authentic soy chai latte was absolutely terrific and had a nice strong taste to it. I thoroughly enjoyed dining here. A great place to sit down and do some work or have a conversation.

Loved it location, the food, ambience and service! If you are looking to enjoy and experience a menu spread that brings more to the table than the stock standard stereotypical Melbourne brunch menu, has a solid vegan menu for friends and family who are sensitive to this that and the other, and looking for a location outside of 20kms from the CBD, Lorna Cafe is it. Another surprise for us was the discovery that they catered for large tables fairly easily, 6 to 10 per booth. Perfect for mini family affairs for brunch! Looking forward to sampling the rest of the menu this season and their sister cafes too!!

The staff were so friendly and the interiors so neat. - Egg benny was great. The egg were oozy and the sourdough was well toasted and crispy. I loved the potato and cheddar croquettes which were so aromatic and crispy outside - I'm a lover for fritters - the zucchini was finely sliced and the corn was sweet. The fritters were so crispy and paired well with the lemon and coconut yoghurt. To refresh the palate, the beetroot and lentil tabouleh was perfect.

Beautiful bustling cafe, great atmosphere and service. We ordered the southern chicken served in waffles 🧇 which turned out to be soggy, maybe some nice crunch factor would make it better. We also got the avo toast with baba ghanoush 👌 that was yum! The pickled baby carrots on top were so cute and tasty 🥕 also wonderful coffees 💖

Busy cafe with great food! I’d advise to book ahead as the lines for a table can be huge especially on the weekends. The food and coffee was great but it took a while to be served

It’s near the thousand step’s tourist attraction where it leads to the Kakadu memorial park. when you hike down in Ferntree Gully there are few options for a good brunch. Lorna cafe is 4 mins drive and have enough parking nearby.. staff were amazing and food is so good when you need a good brunch.. They have variety of coffees specially single origin brew and all type of milks! Coffee is great..

Great atmosphere, very clean and tidy cafe. Headed there after a 1000 steps walk. Pretty packed when we went there on a Sunday 11am. We got the philly cheese steak and avo toast, both tasted very good with lots of appetising flavours. The price was on the higher end for a brunch but it was still really nice. We paid for what we got. When we went there, it took us a while to get seated but the staff were really lovely and looked after us well. There was always someone around and they checked in with us frequently.

Only dropped in for brunch because of the reviewed photos - they look really great! Explains my disappointment with what came out as a brekky burger, (I could have made easily at home & better) - milky bun with simple eggs & bacon. The bun was the exception. I was thrown off and sorely disappointed though the service was great & atmosphere was buzzing.

Decided to try this out after reading about their "cafe of the year" award. It was ok ... but nothing great. Had the Chicken Caesar Sandwich which seemed like a nice take on the traditional salad, but the chicken was dry and overcooked and the Caesar sauce could hardly be tasted. My friend had the pork belly benedict which was also overcooked. The place though had a very pleasant ambiance and looked very bright and sunny on entry. Service was good after we sat down although it took a long time waiting at the front as staff were too busy to notice new people at the door (even with a lot of empty tables). Overall, it felt like your average Melbourne cafe.

My overall review is that Lorna has very nice Aesthetics, but is quite expensive for what you get. 2x lattes, 2 meals (quite small) will set us back about $77-$80. It’s more of a boujee cafe spot that deserves to be in the city for those who can afford that life style. We definitely won’t be returning but do give this a place a try to make your own opinion. *Read below if you want more of my personal review: I ordered the the Chicken waffle Benedict with hash browns and avo, and my partner ordered the Sweet potato and halloumi fritters. Unfortunately the chicken was completely flavourless, the hash browns were the same but also watery and I don’t know if it was an accident or intended but half the waffle was soaked with vinegar so I got a mouth full of that unpleasantness. On the plus side, the eggs were poached perfectly and the spiced hollandaise sauce was delicious but sadly it wasn’t enough to save it for me. My partner said his potato and halloumi fritters were delicious and he really did enjoy it but the portion size was quite small and was left still left hungry. The coffee was great and the aesthetic’s of the cafe were very nice. Definitely Instagram worthy :)

What an awesome surpise this was! Went to get tyres just down a few doors and i'm so glad we ate here!!!! (Tyre shop got 2 stars - don't go to TTF Ferntree Gully). It was super busy when we rocked up but we thought that it must be worth it if it's this busy and the food did not dissapoint! I got the chicken waffle and it was like having all the flavours and all the texures in one hit - total tastegasm! My partner got he scarmbled chilli which was also scrumptious. Speaking of scrumbtious the wait staff are eye candy and also super efficient and friendly (great job with recruitment!!!). The tasty treats at the counter are irresistable and it's hard not to grab one. Definitely looking forward to coming back and trying out more of the menu.

Lorna is a surprisingly roomy cafe, with an interesting menu. We found that the service can be a bit slow and inconsistent, which is a shame. We ended up having a few things to eat, and I can highly recommend the chicken waffles!
