The Suburban was a pleasant surprise. Nice atmosphere, good food and aMazing service. Lots of nice, private seating areas, a great place to unwind after work with a drink, comfortable seating in the dining area where we ate, 2nd level mezzanine area AND a third floor rooftop beer garden, bar and private area. I loved the instagrammable pink neon sign as you enter the rooftop. We had Tim looking after us, and nothing was too much trouble. We had impressive table service and were even given a tour of the upper levels. Suburban has one of the sth eastern suburbs' only roof top gardens AnD they have weekly live music.

I visited this venue years ago for a drink on the rooftop but obviously never reviewed. Not sure if it’s still the same owners upon our return but it was certainly very busy. The menu itself is quite limited and there’s a different one for the rooftop which is a bit odd but we went with the downstairs seating option given the cold weather and I ordered a fail safe parma. As far as parmas go it wasn’t the greatest it lacked enough sauce and cheese for me but I enjoyed the chips. The pedestrian slaw may as well not have been on the plate as far as I was concerned though the parma itself was sizeable. So much potential in this venue so I am disappointed that the local didn’t do this classic dish justice

My partner and I recently moved into the area, we’ve had the pleasure of dining and popping in for drinks a lot over the past few months. The food is delicious and the cocktails are very yummy with contemporary spin on some classics! It’s great to have such a modern city type bar in the suburbs! However, what really stands out is the amazing customer service! Special mention to the staff member Kale, he made an effort to remember us by name and greats us kindly and attentively every time we are in. Makes us feel very welcome and we always look forward to seeing him each time! ☺️ Highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

5/5 every single time. Love the good quality, delicious and consistent food. Very busy place with a great vibe, great music and lots of lovely staff on the floor, in the kitchen or in the bar area. Lots of seating options with bar/dining area, upstairs or rooftop. Highly recommend.

Was a bit lost trying to get here from carpark. You think by parking right at the top means there will be an entry, but no. I could see the restaurant and yet couldnt enter. But this is Eastland’s design mistake. When I finally found the entry, I think the rooftop area is massive, although it was like a labyrinth, there is a lot of decor and walls so it was not a one big open area, more like divided into sections but it was rather hard to find my group. You can order online using qr code. Had gnocchi and a soda which both was surprisingly nice. I am not a gnocchi person but had to order that one because of some reason and I was pleasantly surprised. Nice texture, nice tangy sauce but quite balanced. The pictures on the menu looks tiny but in real life it is bigger portion. Overall very happy with my visit, and music wasnt blaring where we sat so it was a good, chilled place to chat when the weather was nice. Would come back here and try other things.

Few of male staffs were not very friendly somewhat rude. it take 30-40 minutes to have food after order, goods are tasty and have good atmosphere. Hope to improve and it has good potential place to go restaruant with the effort from management.

Sunday roast was tiny! One tiny piece of broccoli (pictured) Carrot & pumpkin had a strange taste, meat was good. Daughters chicken schnitzel was very over cooked and chewy. Staff were friendly. If the roast had cost more than $25 I would’ve complained because of the tiny portion size.

This place has so much potential. The atmosphere is great however the food is of a very poor standard. We ordered the lamb ribs which were completely tasteless. It was like eating cardboard. The other dish was the baked cheese. Again so much potential but left lacking in taste. The toasted bread which accompanied the dish actually tasted burnt not toasted. I think the staff could be a llittle more attentive. Had to get someone's attentiion to clear our table. Overall a very disappointing experience. Will not be rushing back that's for sure.

Attended the rooftop bar on Valentine's Day. I would say this place has so much potential that is being wasted. The service was extremely poor. We had to wait more than 30 minutes to get a drink or eat something upon placing the order. We had to go to the counter to place the order as there are no order takings from the table. And we were not told that we need to come to the bar to pick up our drinks. Later (after 30 minutes) one of the guys at bar came up and said "you need to pickup your drinks"! The drinks were okay. I could barely taste any alcohol in my French mojito. However, the magerita was good. The chef looked busy and very efficient. Food tasted good too. Just that when the food is ready, the other two staff members were just roaming around and being very slow at serving. I could see they had confusion identifying which food goes to which table. They were constantly looking around and asking the chef where the food should go. They almost served our food to another table as well. Also, I could see that one of the staff members was constantly checking up on one table asking if they need more drinks or food. Overall the customer service was extremely poor! The atmosphere can improve as well. The songs were nice. However, half of the lighting we're off (not sure if they don't work) which would have added much beauty to the roof top.

Almost a hidden gem, great roof top getaway in a nice garden setting. Nicely laid out, friendly staff with a good selection of beers 🍻 and great food. Service via QR code was fast and choice of food great. I certainly would come back again.

Awesome roof top and staff. My steak was tough / well done on the outside and rare on the inside, I guess that evens out as medium rare. Not sure. In all seriousness, it had been previously cooked (I'm guessing some time that day, hopefully) and then warmed up in the oven. That's pretty disappointing for a $50 eye fillet.

Asked for medium rare, my steak was cold in the middle and raw. $38 not the best. Drinks are good, espresso martini was majority foam. Probably wouldn’t eat here again but nice for drinks with friends.

We honestly had the most wonderful evening and were blown away by the service. Like it was so good and accomodating and kind that I assumed we must have been on a hidden camera show. The staff on the rooftop are legends and went above and beyond, but were also just really friendly and engaging.

All food in the fryer is gluten free so very coeliac friendly! The service was incredible. All staff were very attentive and friendly. The venue is really lovely. My parma was good but the cheese could have been grilled more. Chips were delicious - very crunchy!

Went to this place for some drinks after dinner. We came in earlier than our booking time and they accommodated us which was great. Place was quite noisy as it was on a Saturday night. Overall it’s alright. The only thing though is when you are seated upstairs it’s difficult to get a staff and you wouldn’t know the person walking past you is a staff (unless they have food or drinks on hand to deliver) as they don’t have a uniform or a badge that identifies them as staff. Order is done via QR code which is cool and orders arrived quickly which is good.

Six of us enjoyed a fabulous lunch at The Suburban today. The staff are friendly, efficient and a big part of what makes this eatery a standout. The ambience is relaxed and aesthethically pleasing. Prices are reasonable and both food and wine lists are well thought out. We all ordered differently but were happy with our meals and sides were excellent. We've been here before and we'll be back again soon.

The Suburban is one of the best bars in the outer east. The new owners have injected so much energy into the venue. It’s a versatile spot to visit, from warm summer evenings on the rooftop sipping delicious cocktails, to the bustling downstairs bar, listening to live music or enjoying a delicious hearty meal. The staff are always friendly and willing to help. They really seem to care about their patrons and this is reflected in their personalised service, always going above and beyond! I highly recommended this venue for any occasion. Guaranteed friendly faces and lots of fun.

Had a booking for a birthday celebration and the staff were all fantastic. They were all extremely attentive and checked in on us for drinks and ordering our meals, we didn't have to wave anyone down or sit there and wait awkwardly for someone to come over. They gave great recommendations as well on what to drink and order. Our group had a range of things from the cheeseburger, chicken Parma, gnocchi and the grazing board and all of the food was exceptional. Could not recommend this place high enough.

Our party of 9 was extremely well catered for on 1/8. The considered (and considerate for dietary needs) menu meant everyone could choose from a wide selection of dishes and no-one was disappointed. The food arrived hot and well presented and was super delicious. Drinks selections was also great. Tim and his Team went out of their way to look after us even down to making the DF/G/F chocolate brownie into a cake for the birthday candles. Thank you.

A great place for the area but I feel like they can do more to create a better atmosphere. The rooftop is good but there's a lot of tables and umbrellas that look like they're stored up there so it feels a bit unwelcoming. Will come back as it's pretty much one of a kind for the area! FYI the Sunday roast is of a good standard and is only $25 including a drink.

I love it at The Suburban. They have beers as dark as my soul, and the food is excellent! The atmosphere is fantastic but roaring on a Friday. However, you can enjoy a more laid-back meal on a weeknight. Some old reviews don’t do justice to the new ownership.

Nice place! Food was alright but did take a while to come out although we did have a large order and it was a busy Wednesday night. Could order drinks quickly though.

Great customer service. We booked the Mezzanine for a private function and couldn’t have been happier about how the day turned out. Food and drinks were delicious and well worth the money. Our bartender was amazing. They were all very easy going, allowing us to decorate the space how we wanted to - bringing things in and out of the venue. All very welcoming and joyful. A space was also reserved for us on the rooftop after our event ended. Very happy

Staff were friendly and service was good. Food wasn’t anything to rave about for the cost and the brownie dessert was so horribly rich. I have eaten here a few times last one being about a year ago and the food was much better, unfortunately wasn’t amazing tonight.

Beer garden on the rooftop was great despite the cold weather. There was a mixup with the order and lack of cutlery but staff resolved it and they gave us extra drink to apologise. Hood service and atmosphere..I enjoyed watching the sunset.

We probably should have left at the start, when a passing waitress belatedly asked "is there anything else I can get you?". Yes - drinks, meals... we’ve had nothing! After our ‘welcoming farewell’, we needed to summon a staff member anytime we needed anything - there was no table service to speak of. Perhaps the disappointed waitress never really accepted that we should be present. She certainly wasn’t. Three of four meals were quite good, but the slow braised beef shoulder was utterly and completely inedible. Another waitress collected the untouched meal without any curiosity as to whether it was okay. (Are meals often sent back untouched?). On providing internal feedback to the restaurant we received an email indicating that the team "did not take negative feedback lightly" and that they would "regroup" and "look into [our] experience". The email came from a 'do not reply' address three weeks ago with no further correspondence. I thought the feedback was important and reasonable, but maybe the team just never managed to fully regroup… A final undelivered promise, from a venue that held so much promise. But here we are. One star :( (Oh, and you’ll need to leave your credit card details to make an online booking - with $20/head charged for cancellations. This might be a new normal. I still think it is a little odd).

A horrendous dining experience. Raw inedible steak - as pictured below - after waiting an hour and 10 minutes. Terrible service - pleasant but completely inattentive - perhaps due to staff shortages.

The steak is delicious and well priced. Can get busy and hard to get staff attention but once i did they were fantastic. I highly recommend.

The view is lovely, but the service and pricing really let it down. We wait over 30 minutes for a cheese board which came with hardly any cheese, (think a chubby pinky finger) no napkins and cost $26. We had to go and ask where the platter was. Go for a drink and the view, but I wouldn't bother for the food.

Suburban rooftop is one of my favourite places to meet up with friends and family for either a meal or cocktail. I am a frequent customer and I can honestly say the service is unmatched with staff that truly care about your experience. The food is incredible and reasonably priced! The atmosphere is vibrant, friendly and relaxed! I highly recommend visiting the suburban for your next outing!
