I ordered vegan pasta. I’m not very fussy when come to food but it was absolutely disgusting and not edible. Sweet potato’s we’re not cooked and it had no flavor. It’s like it was just boiled in plain water. I did not even touch it, although I was hungry I couldn’t eat it. They didn’t care much, just took the full plate away. Then I decided to order dessert because I hadn’t eaten dinner. I ordered sticky date pudding. When it was placed on the table, the sauce split all over the table, because they just dumped ice cream on hot sauce and it was a melted mess by the time it was served. It looked like someone just threw up on my plate. Honestly I don’t leave negative comment, just because a meal wasn’t the perfect, this was probably the worst meal I have ever had in any restaurant. Never go there again!

Hark! Let me regale thee with a tale of Kelly's Bar and Kitchen, nestled amidst the majestic mountain ranges, a place of quaint charm and heartsome revelry. 'Twas a delightful establishment, where weary travelers and jovial locals alike sought refuge in its warm embrace. Upon entry, we were welcomed by the crackling hearth, casting its comforting glow upon the timbered walls. The ambiance, verily, was akin to a cozy inn of yore, inviting all to share in mirth and camaraderie. As we partook in the victuals, we found that the fare offered was of the classic pub variety, with flavors both hearty and homely. To our delight, Kelly's extended its hospitality even unto chickens, and our companion from Lilydale found much favor in this gesture. The quibble lay in the calamari, for it was overcooked, lacking the tender touch of a gentle fry. Alas, the once tender cephalopod had turned stern and rigid, a blight upon an otherwise pleasing repast. Yet, a silver lining appeared when the beef pie graced our table. It bore a sumptuous filling of rich gravy, pleasing to the palate, and befitting of an establishment of such character. Yet, the accompanying mash was less fortunate, being coarse and lumpy, rather than the creamy indulgence we had yearned for. Furthermore, a curious matter did arise when we inquired about the promised Jus, for none was to be found. 'Twas a perplexity, as the staff insisted the gravy was the Jus. Verily, this seemed strange, for in our minds, the Jus had always been a distinct and delectable drizzle to complement the pie. Alas, this was not the case, and though the pie was grand, we mourned the absence of the much-anticipated Jus. In conclusion, Kelly's presented itself as a fine establishment with a welcoming hearth, splendid charm, and classic pub fare to savor. Its benevolence towards chickens was praiseworthy, and the beef pie held great merit, despite the mash's shortcomings. Alas, the calamari faltered, and the enigmatic absence of the Jus left us wistful for what could have been. Nonetheless, we depart with hearts still warm, and memories of the mountainous tavern, tucked away in rustic splendor.

Came here pre pandemic and loved the cozy wooden style interior and fire place. Remember having a nice streak and calamari so was looking forward to enjoying the same friendly service and good food. Wasn’t disappointed! Same great atmosphere, service and good food. But this time a new employee! If you sit outside there’s a friendly bird that is more than happy to join you for lunch. He’s cool.

Great selection of local beers on tap at an affordable price. Staff were lovely and suggested we try the house special carbonara which was delicious. We also had the house made pie (made from scratch to order) and it was by far the best pie we've ever tasted. 10/10 experience and we will be eating here every time we are in the area.

Generous serving, lovely staff, and great ambience! I'll come back here for a proper dine out experience soon. Best place to get feed from exploring the ranges

Great little hidden gem! Shared a few dishes between us all - Parma was huge with really flavoursome sauce, cheese burger was thick and juicy with real pickles and the loaded fries were full of bacon and gravy goodness. Nice and cosy (with an open fire) for a cold afternoon - they serve food all day so we were able to walk in unannounced and stay as long as we liked. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area. We had a lovely waitress too ☺️

Kelly's has a great selection of beers, I enjoyed sampling all the different options! The happy hour is a great touch offering a cider, a lager, and a selection of wines and house spirits. We had the popcorn chicken to start, followed by the eye fillet steak with peppercorn gravy it was a delicious meal, and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone! It's possibly one of the best steaks I've ever eaten. Would also recommend the date pudding again absolutely delicious.

Warm welcome and friendly staff. The food was ok with a common pub dishes menu and few specialities from chefs on board. Dishes took a long time to come despite the pub was not busy at all. This is probably due to the fact that they don't have enough staff in the kitchen. Lots seats indoor and outdoor. The pub looks like a big chalet, very wooded. There is a parking lot on the right side of the pub.

Nice rustic environment serving pub food and a range of tap beers that were excellent. Decent food with welcoming servers and great table service. I would visit again for another round of drinks but likely to explore better food options in this area.

Unpretentious rustic atmosphere. Good food reasonably priced. Great service from the young man on duty. Excellent choice of local beers plus the option of the pub bar.

Great food, cozy atmosphere. Food was perfect, well seasoned. Not a huge range to choose from and slow to table, but overall very good.

Fantastic. The vegan spaghetti is amazing, not only for vegans, but everyone would love it. Caroline is the best hostess and her team are so welcoming and attentive. A great way to spend an afternoon. Thank you. Xo

Do yourself a favour and order the EYE FILLET (med/rare) with red wine jus. Thick piece of juicy tender steak worth the price tag! Can never go past it..(so can’t comment much on other meals). Staff are always lovely too! A few tasty local beers on tap. Wood fire is lovely and cosy in winter months.

Fantastic Food! Best Steak i had . Perfect medium rare + the mushroom sauce it melts in my mouth. Apologetic For the Delay Service which is normal for a busy Tuesday night. Lets be considerate , hospitality jobs are not that easy. Cozy rustic warm ambiance. Highly recommended!

Food was good quality and reasonable for the price. Steak was expensive but other meals were a good price. Environment was good and not too noisy. Felt like some privacy at the side even though totally open plan space. Nice having a fire going in winter. Nice and warm on a cold evening. Service was friendly just slow to get the meals out. Prompt at taking our order but then waited a long time for food to arrive. I assume cooked from fresh which might explain some of it but was still pretty slow considering it didn't seem like a super busy evening.

Fast and easy food with loads of parking. Taste however was average.

Great atmosphere, lovely wait staff and for most of it fantastic food. The calamari was cooked and seasoned perfectly, tender, tasty and crispy with a nice simple side salad that was well dressed. The kids nuggets and chips were much nicer than the average deep fried from frozen generic with hand crumbed chicken breast that was well received. One of the steaks unfortunately arrived cold and the jus was awfully salty which wouldn’t have been such an issue but it covered the steak so there was no escaping it. They re-cooked the steak without an issue and all other meals were superb. Although there weren’t any activities especially for for children we felt comfortable to have them eat there with a good range of food options for them. Would definitely return when we’re next in the area.

Quite a disappointment to have dined here after going bush walking in the area. Waited 1.5 hours for our order and having to ask numerous times to check if our order was ready as other patrons who arrived after us were served promptly. When the food finally arrived it was sub-standard. Had ordered a steak and let's just say a $10 steak meal was more delicious than what was served here. We decided to head to this restaurant after seeing all the great reviews. The restaurant has a good ambiance to it however they do need to improve on serving times and food quality for customers to return.

Great food, great drink. We've been to Kelly's a few times, and the smile of pure bliss on my partner's face after eating the steak is worth it every time. So tender and perfectly seasoned every time. Beers and alcohol selection also always good. There's normally a couple of decent vegetarian options too. However, they might've been a little under-staffed at times, hopefully that's just a pandemic aftermath issue. It's definitely worth the drive every single time we go. Thanks!

Such amazing food in a beautiful setting. The help staff are lovely, friendly and attentive . Food portions are generous, full of flavour and fresh. Sticky date pudding was the best I've had, hands down. So much sticky date pudding sauce too!

Had a most enjoyable and delicious lunch here after a morning walk at the Dandenong Botanic Gardens. We had spicy calamari and sirloin steak, both incredibly tasty. Best chef is here. We will come back for sticky date pudding since we were so full from our mains, plus wine and coffee. Love the service, so attentive. And we sat by the fireplace 🥰🤗 So cozy.

We went there a few weekends ago for dinner, we loved it! Its a super cozy pub that just gives you good feels. The staff were lovely and the food was fantastic! Their steak was cooked perfectly and delicious. As for the dessert we got the sticky date pudding and my oh my was it amazing! If we lived closer I would be a regular there...definitely worth going to!

Decided to come here after reading the reviews about how great the food was, and I was very surprised. The place itself is good, and the staff were all attentive and polite, but unfortunately the food was just disappointing. Both mains were bland and poor quality. I would go back to this place for a drink, but I’d eat elsewhere

What a gem! Relaxed atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff. Food comes out in reasonable time and is delicious. Calamari very tasty, mushroom linguine creamy and steak well cooked. Will definitely be back.

Second time I’ve been here and second time I’ve ordered a schnitzel maybe tonight because I came on my own The care factor went out the window but without a doubt the smallest schnitzel I’ve ever had in 40 years of going out to pubs. Schnitzel was good chips cooked well the salad great but the smallest schnitzel I’ve ever seen in my life.

Great food, good service and great prices. The building itself is beautiful. Even though neither of us had steak one of the meals took a little bit longer to cook than the average meal, so upon ordering, the waitress kindly mentioned that there would be a wait of about 20 minutes. They made sure that both meals came out at the same time. We were considering desserts because they all sounded delicious, but we couldn't eat anymore duento the generous mains. I didnt use the gents but my partner said the ladies toilets were clean. The atmosphere was relaxed but still warm and inviting. We would highly recommend eating here.

Consistently great steaks, in a cosy and relaxed environment with friendly and efficient service. Reasonably priced menu with popular daily specials. Good value all round and a step up from a 'pub meal' while still retaining that relaxed/country vibe. We've been back several times and will continue to do so.

The steak was cooked to perfection and tasted fantastic. The service was both friendly and attentive, creating a pleasant atmosphere. We dined in the bustling bistro, where locals enjoyed their meals and shared joyful moments.
