The bistro has a good range of food on its menu. Good value for seniors especially. Regular prices are as per pub prices. Plenty of parking. Easy access from Springdale Road or Burwood Highway. We were here in Thursday afternoon at 1pm and it was very easy to get a table. Quite a spacious place. In the pokies lounge there is free coffee and tea and $4 ham and cheese toasties.

Dropped in for a quick dinner and pleasantly surprised. Schnitzel was perfectly cooked and veggies were great. If you’re not looking for ambiance but a tasty meal that reasonably priced and promptly served, give this place a go.

Rude staff and poor admin follow up. Was trying to order a few steaks for my freinds 50th bday at the bistro, a staff member was trying to sell me the steaks on special , i politely declined and said thankyou i would prefer the steaks i ordered. Her response “ its $12 cheaper you must have money to burn” . I replied id like the steak i ordered the 250g steak is already small enough. She then said “ ONLY IF YOUR A PIG” . I was quite shocked about this , we ignored it and returned to our seats. I few day latter i emailed the admin via there website as i was still very annoyed at her comments and did not want to leave a bad review over a staff member ( it happens) . But after 3 weeks of my email being ignored the review is now well deserved IMO

Would never stay there again or recommend it to anyone. The on line booking system was malfunctioning so the room booked was not available. The room we were allocated reeked of cigarette smoke. There was mud outside the door and dirty footprints on the floor on entering, The heater struggled to warm the room and grouting missing between tiles in the bathroom. The spare blanket showed signs of cigarette ash burns too! The whole unit is in need of serious refurbishment and no smoking needs to be enforced. Staff at reception were functional but not prepared to go the extra yard. This was particularly disappointing as the hotel's location is perfect for our needs but NO - NEVER AGAIN!

Great place to play pool or go for a walk with a dog and sit outside in the beer garden. This place has the potential to be the "go to " spot ! Just to relax in place - in a spacious beer garden, put a tune on, play a game of pool and have a meal ! Then, buy a nice bottle of wine from Dan murphys nearby to take home after eating dinner here!!! A Just one thing, it is let down by pool tables not being regularly checked and charged. And, the benches and floors being constantly sticky!!! And lately the customer service is non existent!

Stayed at the Burvale a few days ago. The cleanliness of the room was surprising. Despite the old look of the venue, the place was very clean and neat. The staffs were very friendly. I absolutely adore Meg and Nat, who I believe are the housekeepers there. They were really friendly and helpful. Looking forward to coming there again! Cheers

After a HUGE amount of time between drinks with a friend we decided to catch up at here. Meals were AMAZING! My husband and a mate had the ribs and they fell off the bone! The Sri Lankan curry was delicious. Desserts were to die for. Only tiny fault was lighting could be a tad brighter and the menu could have larger font. And running out of glasses 😳

Arrived just before check-in closed at 10pm, staff at check-in desk was good, friendly, quick. Room was fine for the night, (cause couldn't be bothered driving back to the west after all day at church) everything was there that was needed, including TV and heater-a/c if needed and Wi-Fi. Beds - bedding was clean as was room etc, had complementary tea and coffee there and fresh towels, small bottles of body wash, shampoo and conditioner etc, water pressure was fine. Check-out was before 10am. Got it for $104 (online price) + $100 bond deposit, gets refunded next afternoonish, after cleaners have checked and if everything is alright. Oh and 1x free parking space infront of room, but plenty of carparks nearby if towing boats, vans or whatever. If you get bored, the pokies section is open till 5am I think.

Very POOR service, only 1 staff on duty taking orders serving meals & drinks. After a LONG wait he delivers my entree & main course TOGETHER. I asked him to take the main back to the kitchen until I had finished the entree. 30 mins after finishing the entree he still hasn't cleared the table or brought out the main. When I requested a refund the manager Jake appeared & was full of excuses about staff shortages. Not my concern. Get the basics right. 11/2 hours there to only get an entree & there was only 20 people in the bistro.

Decent pub atmosphere, not too noisy could still sit and talk, good feed, ribs were nice and tender, the calamari was fresh, crispy and flavourful without being chewy. Service was quick, friendly and ordering through the app was easy as.

Food was very good there, service was a let down as the young waitress was not friendly nor polite at all, seems like she didn't want to be there at all. Hopefully we will get better service next time.

Had our second visit to the Burvale Hotel tonight. The young guy who met us was very friendly and welcoming, and did evrrything to make our dining experience memorable. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel should be proud to have him on their staff. Special thanks to Ingrid who served at the Bistro Bar.

The food is great, but the blonde lady who does the lunch shift in the bistro is extremely rude and nasty - had been a handful of times and experienced the same, so it can't be down to simply having a bad day. There is simply no need for such unpleasantness. Lost yourselves a customer here, cheers.

Nice place. Friendly staff. As we stayed overnight, we didn't eat there but good menu with on site bar and bistro. Room was clean and presentable. Only problem was no Drinking water provided as you have to buy it, No tooth paste provided and No Microwave in the room. Can definitely do better with some small changes.

Decent place I was here a short while so I'm looking forward to my next visit. I've bummed up my review because I know they care about their customers. Also they have an awesome trivia night.

Original room booked was N/A due to plumbing issue so we were put in two rooms which suited us just fine as there were 5 of us. Clean, good beds, TV, fridge, tea/coffee facilities. Location was fine - wasn't much traffic noise despite being close to major roads. Good value!

With my 82 years old sister for lunch waiting to told to seat as your instructions state. The young man taking lunch orders was so busy and I had to barge in while taking order and asked can I sit anywhere he said yes I can. Also the blond headed Guy behind the bar, could do with some customers service training. Meals were great as usual. My first critique in 8 visits Dessie

I am a loyal customer of Burvale Hotel, who was recently insulted and offended by the behaviour of the reception staff. As a guest who has stayed at least 5 times, I don't expect discounts or favourable treatment, but I deem that racist behaviour is completely unacceptable. For my last sojourn, two young reception staff whom I had never met, asked for photo ID. I travel often and had misplaced my driver's licence. So I showed them my passport instead. These ladies cast a look at me, flipped to the wrong page on the passport and said, 'How did you enter the country on this passport? Your photo doesn't even look real!' I replied, 'What? I have been using this passport for years!' They flipped until they arrived at the correct page and apologized. However, I never forgot it. Their words implied that I was a spurious character who was a criminal or an illegal immigrant of some sort. In fact, I am a long-time resident of Australia, a citizen and a good person. The reception staff performed excellently in insinuating something negative and offending a loyal customer. I am not happy. The facilities are outdated and it is clear that the owners do not plan to upgrade the rooms (there is no microwave). Update your mentality, staff. Just because someone is coloured and does not possess a name like 'Jane Smith', it doesn't mean that they are criminals, etc. From the behaviour of white Australian kids in public and even some adults, that's the pot calling the kettle black. RESPECT ASIAN MIGRANTS. We have money too.

This pub seems almost lost to time. I can only speak about the restaurant, the food was decent, in line with all the other pubs in the area but the atmosphere in the dining room is odd, it feels like a canteen on a school camp, just a little too big, too empty. The chairs and tables very much need updating, but if the food is what you are after, you are unlikely to be disappointed.

Went there on Sunday 7/1/24 at 5.40ish but bistro wasn’t even open. if only they stated they were closed on their website then it would have saved the travel there. there wasn’t even signs in front of the bistro with locked gates while the gaming area appears open. no staff anywhere as well. it appears there were other people that had to find somewhere else. so based on that, the service was rubbish and food is probably not up to par either since they had to keep their doors closed. i wouldnt bother going again in the event it’s not open as it appears they open and close at random depending on bookings??

This is the second time I stayed. The location is a surprise. You won't hear any noise except the parrots every morning. But this time the room was dirtier than before. The room service was minimal. My cups and glasses were never washed in the whole week i stayed. And there were no little details like biscuits for coffee, toothpaste. The shower head had seized up so I had to wash in an awkward position like against the wall. I won't try a third time. Run by Asians. Third world standards.

Well priced facility with friendly staff. Loved the Kids Zone! The TV was not easy to operate & would be nice to have a breakfast option at the Bistro, especially for travellers who have a long drive home.

Very clean restaurant and friendly staff. The optional QR ordering system is great but ordering at counter is available. The seniors meals are outstanding at $9.95 each, garlic bread $2.50, sweets $2.50. The sticky pudding is marvellous. Regular meals are varied and at modest prices. Poker machines are nearby but DO NOT impose on the dining experience. Strongly recommend.

If you want the easiest pub lunch around then here is ok. Don't forget its about 100 years old but it ain't pretending not too be either. What you see is what you get and that's a good cheap feed.

Great location and great place to stay! Friendly staff throughout the entire venue! Very clean rooms at a very affordable rate and plenty of free parking right at your door. Delicious and well priced meals in the bistro!! And fantastic bar facilities throughout!

The old barn hasn't changed much in 20 years, but for a drink anytime, or the odd Sat night band it's just fine. Was pleasantly surprised with the quality of bistro food, solid range and well priced. And of course there is no shortage of pokies to play with.

We had a very disappointing experience from of the serving staff. We asked for the special deal drink and she told that that beer is not available. And then we ordered a vodka, she served us with just sofa and no lime (lime was part of the drink). She charged extra $2 also. Very embarrassing!

Food was good and reasonably priced. Place was quiet on a cold Wednesday night. Kids loved the games room. Would have given a higher rating had we were told more tactfully about the closing time. Understood that it was a long day for some staff but then again, we are still paying customers.

A great place to grab a nice cold drink & enjoy the shade of the Alfresco option, or sit inside, watch a sport or two on the big screen. If you get hungry, the kitchen starts serving delicious, very fairly priced meals from 5:30pm. Top all that off with friendly, smiling staff and what more do you need in a pub?

Good pub. I've been here many times over the years. Lots of quality pool tables ($3 a game though) and a great projector screen for the footy. Staff are friendly.

Shocking experience, poor service waited 30 mins for 2 drinks when there was 5 people in the venue and 2 behind the bar. Drinks were no good my girlfriends drink was definitely over poured tasted like metho. Atmosphere wasn’t great didn’t seem welcoming, food wasn’t great either. Definitely will not come back

The room is clean and tidy. It may require a bit of maintenance/renovation but the price is affordable. Awesome service and location if you are looking for an accommodation around burwood area.

Rooms were horrible it smelled like sweat it smelled like you have just entered a gym. It had mould on the shower roof. They rooms windows were locked no fresh air could come in. Behind the beds there were mountains of dust seems like they just change the towels and the beds the quilt cover had old blood on it, in the middle of the night i was swallowed up in the mattress slept badly. Bad lighting in the rooms often used my phones light to look for somethings. Broken mugs dirty spoons. I wish we never went there. I love visiting Melbourne but this motel made my visiting Melbourne a bitter experience.

Burvale was the perfect venue to take our wheelchair bound grandmother into for an early Monday night dinner. Plenty of ramps so a big tick on accessible and that classic pub food she likes. She played the pokies and enjoyed a seniors parma and a cappuccino. I enjoyed my steak which was tender and cooked just as I liked. The team working here were friendly and accommodating which is all you can ask for. Would come back for similar meals. The venue is massive and there were outdoor areas that we never got to see.

Kind of confused, as I’ve been here numerous times…unquestioned…and tonight brought our friends, all over 21, and were questioned for our IDs TWICE by two different people, and asked to confirm our height, then told we couldn’t be served (by the first person again, threw her hands off and spewed out her words while walking away) because “they’ve had incidents and people die before and don’t need a reason not to serve us” no explanation of why we were questionable? Won’t be back, which is unfortunate. Not that it was the greatest place to begin with, but we were supportive and respectful-apparently they’re choosing not to serve anyone who looks under 60 from now on, regardless of what your license reads.
