We are quite the regulars at Carlos Cantina in Croydon. We have always had a good experience with delicious food. Their servings have always been very generous and usually the wait isn’t too long (even when busy). Highly recommend the Nachos and a Margarita or two! They have 30% off entrees and mains on Monday & Tuesday nights, and 1/2 price margaritas on Friday’s! The restaurant also has a good kids menu and the kids get to do some colouring while they wait for their food.

Watch out. Big portions! Good Mexican place in the suburbs. Their Sangria (red wine) was so nice. I will be going back.

The food was great for the price, and the portions were generous. Frozen cocktails were half price and tasted great.

Hadn't been here for years and we loved it. Food was delicious, grear prices and quick to be served. Our drinks waiter Allan was very friendly and made really nice drinks for our table.

Had dinner with my daughter at CC and we were welcomed and shown to our table. It was a Wednesday night and was fairly busy. Our drinks arrived quickly and we had our order taken. We were sharing as to experience a couple of dishes which were delicious and also managed to fit in dessert. I lived in Texas for 2.5 years and my daughter and I agreed that the food was on par with what we remembered from our Texan experience 2016-2018 (as Mexican food is big in Texas hence TexMex) and we hope to visit again soon with more family in tow. Great fun place to eat.

The staff are all attentive and friendly, the food was great. The dine in area looked busy and everyone looked happy when I was collecting my order. The online ordering process was quick and easy.

The restaurant was very busy when we were there but the staff coped comfortably with it. We got appetisers, mains and drinks within a reasonable period of time and the staff were really friendly and positive. The meals were excellent as usual. So all 8 of us were happy.

Really disappointed with the customer service! We had to wait about 40 minutes just so we could order dinner. Once we had our dinner we waited so we could order dessert and when someone finally came over, they told us we had to get our dessert for take away because our time frame was up. We got take away and I found a tooth pick on the dessert I ordered. Would not recommend.

I may not know much about Mexican food is? But I do know what great food is and this place definitely hit the spot. I have been here twice and on both occasions I enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Staff were friendly and approachable asking me if I wanted anything else with my meal and I also ordered a margarita which was AMAZING!! I love chilli as well and nothing from a bottle satisfied my bite for that extra bite to compliment all the wonderful flavours on my plate. So ask the friendly staff for the chefs special chilli sauce out back and its definitely the sauce you want if you live having from spice to elevate the amazing flavours in your dish. Great vibes, highly recommend it. I believe the owner is the chef at back and it definitely shows. I had the enchiladas top right hand corner. Only niggle is I think presentation can be improved. Will definitely be back. Thank you

We've been dining here since 2020, probably once a month, and it's always fantastic! Good food, good service, good portion size, and reasonably priced. Can't go wrong with the fun atmosphere either!

Excellent, easy going Mexican eatery. We have been going here since they opened their Boronia store what feels like forever ago and have since continued to support the Croydon venue. The food has consistently been good and the service is attentive and fast paced. It's great to take advantage of the Monday/Tuesday specials for a discount on meals or to attend over the weekend for discounted margaritas. Highly recommend the nachos topped with beef or the chipotle burrito.

Good prices for the size of the food, service can range from iffy to decent depending on how busy it can get. Very crammed layout of tables and very can noisy with large groups of tables seated nearby on top of club music blasting on at the same time.

The food is delicious and fresh. I booked a table via their website which was very easy to navigate.

Food was great: very tasty and portions larger than we're accustomed to. Our waiter was fantastic: explaining the food and options, spice levels and his suggestion of pineapple juice to cool my mouth was appreciated.

We usually are regulars but as service standards had dropped off we also had started to drop off going as frequently. On Tuesday we decided to try again and was very impressed with the level of service. Finally you are on the way back up. We will start returning now more often.

Service was fast, and the staff were very friendly. the food was quite tasty for the most part, some items such as the taquitos were a bit ordinary. But overall we both liked it. Margarita sampler was very enjoyable. It was a very busy night and they were still able to find us a table without a booking. The restaurant itself was clean and had a good atmosphere, loud but still able to have a conversation. Dig it, will come back the next time I'm craving Mexican

Special Saturday night celebrating a milestone birthday, with 20 of our nearest and dearest. Team were under the pump on a busy night, and they were great. Food on time, and really nice fresh Mex. Generous portions and plenty of flavour. Fish bowls were a big hit too 🎉🥂

Great service , excellent menu and relaxed atmosphere. Even mid week it was pretty busy so book ahead advised. Couldn't fault the burritos . Will definitely put this on our list of places to get good Mexican in the Ringwood area.

Great food, great service. The wait staff really look like they are happy working here and do a fantastic job. The meals are great quality and all come out at the same time - no one was waiting for their meal on a table of 15. Well looked after.

Reasonable pricing. Generally good service but one of the staff members was quick to clean up the table. Felt like trying to move patrons out of restaurant.

First time for three of us, they gave us dirty plates some one else had eaten off! Actually once we looked closely at the glasses they were quite grotty. The lighting is dark so people don't notice the lack of clean cutlery. The food was ok, but if you have the entree of dips and chips it's plenty. Service is fast to take orders, to fast and to many staff asking actually.

Food and atmosphere were great as usual but the service has gone down a bit and we had to opt to ordering via the my menu as there weren’t many wait staff hovering around. We then asked for 4 extra tortillas and got chased out of shop to pay for them (all of $3) as if we were crims. Need to pick up the customer service.

While the service and atmosphere were nice, the food was just ok. Not bad, but definitely not great. The items we ordered were definitely not authentic but Australian versions of Mexican food. I would say it is worth trying, once.

When I was last here yes, a long time ago it was a Taco Bill and we would go quite regularly, it was good food and reasonably priced. Tonight was a very, very different story. The "Mexican Punch" was a sickly sweet cordial that would put a European Wasp in a sugar coma. It was ridiculous! We should have bailed then, but I had ordered my all time favorite, the same thing I order anytime we have Mexican, Enchilada Grande.... Big mistake... I was given a plate still scalding, fresh from the Microwave; you tell something that has been Microwaved by the outside of the meal beginning to dry and wrinkle on the outside of the mush in the middle; it was too runny to use a fork, with the exception of the outer "ring" adhering to the plate, it was so runny, formless and if not for the apparent generous dollop of some no name, "Texan style sauce" flavorless brown virtual gravy along with the most soggy spoonful of rice I gave up with the knife and fork and had to ask for a spoon! I have never managed to eat an entire main course with a spoon before.. I was wondering if they thought I had a night out from the Nursing home or had left my teeth at home? I was really hoping they would ask, "How was your meal?" I was waiting for it! They probably thought better of asking, possibly by previous respondents? Never, ever again, not even if they offered another meal by way of an appologie.. It truly was a "Dining experience," now if you will excuse me; I now have to deal with the aftermath in the bathroom.... Not kidding!

Carlos Cantina never disappoints! The food is fresh, hot & most importantly incredibly tasty! Service is always with a smile. It's great to see the place busy after the challenges faced in the past couple of years. Keep up the excellent work!

I so enjoy catching up with family and friends here. Friendly, attentive staff, prompt meal service, joyful welcoming atmosphere. Amongst all this it is still possible to sit with a friend to have a delicious meal and hear each other speak. Fav meal : the open burrito 😋

Just waited 50 minutes for food. To then ask the waiter and be told they were so sorry and it would be 20 minutes longer. We are pretty sure they forgot to put our order through. And we had a leave to go to an event. Poor service.

The food was delicious and easily catered for dietary requirements. We were so impressed with our waiter. He was friendly and very attentive. He gave us the perfect amount of care and attention.

We having been coming on a regular basis for last two years and keep going back because the staff are so friendly happy to accommodate you needs with smiles on their faces just wanting to make you comfortable. As always a great night out with friends. The customer service was wonderful and our server had a joke or two with us. Meals came out hot and sizzling and tasty. Dessert was good too. Wish the death by chocolate was like it was in the 90's. Will be back again soon

First time diners and we'll be back. The food and drinks were great ( fish tacos were brilliant) and the young ( compared to us) service people were very attentive when we needed anything. Great for families too from what we saw. Safe ,friendly environment. If you haven't already been, check it out. Well worth it.

Had chicken fajitas, which were delicious. The combination of the seasoning/marinade and being char-grilled... yummo! I also had the 'Acapulco' dessert which was nice enough, but nothing special. My lemon Margherita was also very nice. I have been to Carlos Cantina Croydon a few times now over a few years and have enjoyed the food each time (had fajitas every time as they have always been delicious) and the atmosphere is ok, if a little on the cheap feeling side. Not a great fan of having two sittings with the first at 5:30 - very early for most people. The discounts for dining on a Tuesday were a nice bonus.

Have been here a few times and have always been happy with everything! The food is delicious especially the Seafood Quesadilla 😋 plus we never fault the service either it’s a big thumbs up from me 👍

Th Cantina has slowly improve dover the years and is our go to Mex these days. The food is tasty, generous and very filling. Load up the nachos with everything and then forget the main! It's meal all by itself. Fish Taco, queso's excellent. No room of the Enchilada!
