😠 Very disappointed and upsetting to see a guest denied entry with new born baby. Staff member handled the situation poorly with lack of empathy. Definitely will not be back again. Understand they have a policy no children. But where is the common sense. Kid friendly definitely not. People often mention wine, sliders, great, delicious, staff, cocktails, intimate,

Great spot, very intimate vibe inside. Tapas style food. The highlight for me was the sliders. They were the best sliders I’ve ever had. Melt in your mouth. The chef even came out and asked if we wanted more sliders to which I shamelessly said YES. πŸ˜‚ I left very stuffed. The wine list was good. We got one glass that had pieces of cork in it (small pieces). On pointing this out, the waitress took it away but the second glass still had a bit of cork in it. Over all great experience. Will never forget those sliders.

Warm elegant ambience, excellent for a winter night. The food was super delicious and very well presented. We shared 5 dishes and each was superb and correctly matched with a fine Shiraz. Strongly recommend trying the Saganaki. The duck liver parfait and the Hervey Bay king prawns are absolutely to die for. Also worth mentioning the Zucchini sliders in a bun. Equally good were the Pork belly sliders. I will certainly be looking forward to trying their Spring menu. Top find in the outer eastern suburbs.

Today we discovered a real gem of a restaurant definitely worthy of 5 stars and is highly recommended. It’s a cozy tapas wine bar packed with unique style and personality. Well worth a drive to The Basin, a rural and residential suburb 31 km east of Melbourne at the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges. From the moment you walk in you realise the seating is a luxurious lounge chair setup that sets the mood for an enjoyable relaxed dining experience with a difference. The staff are engaging, professional and helpful. We genuinely enjoyed talking to them throughout. Once the food and wine start arriving that’s when you realise you are in for a real treat! Every delicious dish is presented beautifully and packed with mouth-watering flavours. I enjoyed every single bite. If you like the idea of sharing plates, good wine, and decor with an artistic and luxurious flare, it's time to book β€˜The Peacock Den’ to experience it yourself - I highly recommend it!

Absolutely wow! This place is a hidden gem with attention to detail down to a fine art. Amazing wine list, fresh and delicious food with a varied menu. Customer service on point and ambience is cosy but still feels intimate and private. It would be a wonderful place for a memorable time. I'm from Melbourne CBD and would gladly drive here for a date night after visiting Mt Dandenongs. A must! The trout mousse is a new addition to the menu and fabulous!

Lovely ambience, great decor with soft jazz standards as music in the background. Excellent service. Perfect place to go to with friends for intimate chats. Food was interesting but we felt some of them were probably food we could easily do ourselves in the airfryer.

A fabulously relaxing place to spend an evening. Booking are essential and ask for something near the fireplace. The food is so, so but the ambiance and cocktails are wine list are where it's really at!

Excellent quality food and wine and service was fantastic. The atmosphere is great. This is a little gem, we will be back for sure. No need to go to the city when you have something as good or better out in the suburbs.

Great food and wine and cocktails! Seating can be a little awkward if on a couch and there's 3 of you as you're talking across each other. Service was good, we came early for dinner as it got busy later. Would recommend!

A hidden gem in the outer east! My partner and I had a six course meal and were left full and content. The ambience is pretty chilled. Service is on point. The timing in between the courses were just right for me (I had experiences in other restaurants where I had to wait for soooo long that I got very bored, not a nice feeling). Forget about going into the city, come and support your local business!

Unique and cosy, and delicious food made with love. Front of house manager Nick was doing an amazing job, service was warm and personable, and the food was delicious. The layout of the restaurant made it perfect for date night, we were seated side by side on a comfy Chesterfield sharing food and enjoying watching the world go by on a rainy evening. We'll definitely be back.

The Peacock Den is for those who are seeking something a little more relaxed, upscale, and a lot more intimate than other local places. It's a fantastic choice for wine lovers and foodies who love to enjoy deep and meaningful conversations by a warm fire while relaxing on deep leather couches with plenty of pillows. My two favorite dishes of the night were the tahini-cauliflower and the burnt cheesecake dessert. The perfect choice to impress a date or to enjoy a girls night out for fancy cocktails if you are prepared to splurge a little without having to go into the city.

Amazing little gem in the east. Great accommodating staff providing quality customer service, friendly banter and most importantly delicious food! We over ordered as the food portions were generous and the wine selection superb. This is a must try if you're in the east. Can't believe I've been missing out on this place for so long! Looking forward to working our way through the menu. (oysters, chips, fried chicken, beef sliders, meat board, saganaki - had to hold the garlic prawns as had no room left but next time!) πŸ˜‹πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

It's an over 16's place, which is completely appropriate for the venue. The food is beautiful, the venue intimate, the drinks splendid. The waiter that was on when we dropped by was discreet, professional and I feel nonjudgmental. The only thing I would change is asking for the saganaki and fried items at the end so there's more room for other dishes to be properly enjoyed.

Staff were attentive, yet calm and professional. Very welcoming and relaxing environment. We got through 4 of our 6 courses and had to leave, and the staff were immediately accommodating in offering to pack what we hadn't finished and pack the 2 courses to come. Cocktails were also absolutely phenomenal, and the lychee martini packed a perfect punch. Will be back soon!

It was such a nice vibe, there's no rush at all. Staff brought out our food one by one and let us enjoy it fully. It's definitely worth the price. Definitely recommends the fried chicken and the charcuterie board. The filo pastry not so much, we felt it was too greasy. Other than that everything was amazing! The washroom is unbelievably clean too!!!

Cosy ambiance with intimate seating to have a nice evening, long list of exotic cocktails, menu with a mix of cuisines to cater every dietary requirement, quick and friendly staff who knows how to treat their guests, falafel sliders πŸ” the highlight of the evening, coming back for sure πŸ™ Only a suggestion, 3 course meal could be filling for some. πŸ€“
