Great place. Lots of different types of ceviche that all taste great, alpaca ribs are good but nothing amazing despite the reviews. Best dish is hands down the sweet corn cake. Staff are very friendly and place is nice. But yes, that sweet corn cake, get it.

Food was fantastic and quick, waitress was attentive and cocktails delicious! Can’t fault this place. A nice selection of menu items to choose from. Our highlight was the sweet corn cakes, unique combination of flavours. Everything else was really flavourful and refreshing. Try the pisco sour if you love cocktails! Will be back to try the other food, wish we came in a bigger group so that we can try everything!

I came here for dinner with a friend and had not been back for a very long time, the first time I came it was sensational, then covid hit and finally returned, I was served by Jude who was an absolute delight- many restaurants since covid that I remembered being fantastic had gone down hill namely in terms of the quality of the food, this however did not. I will admit the prices were not cheap, however there are some restaurants you know when you’re going to that you’re not there to save money- also if that’s your concern just look at the menu before you go. The food and general experience was awesome and still cannot get over how good their steak was. If you have a special occasion, you should go here.

Absolutely amazing evening. The hostess was an incredibly lovely person and so was our waitress (appreciate the recommendations !) The restaurant is pretty busy in the late evening, I definitely recommend making a booking. My partner and I definitely got lucky with our walk-in and it was SO WORTH IT. Pastuso is a little bit more expensive than your average restaurant but it's 100% worth it. The rib eye just melts in your mouth (and the side sauce is incredible). The tres leches was an absolute dream come true. Honestly can't wait to go back to try more of their dishes!

Disappointment… We reserved dinner for 4 on Monday evening and all their famous dishes were not available. Both their chicken and lamb as well as pastel de choclo are unavailable at 5:30p.m. That explain why we only got the scotch fillet for the main and yes it was seasoned well but there are definitely room for improvement in terms of their ingredients stocking. Out of their skewers, I like the lamb heart the most, both the wagyu beef and tuna were alright.(nothing special). Not to mention it nearly impossible to get the waiter attention

Came for lunch service on a Thursday afternoon, ordering the feed me menu for $79. For the price you get multiple appetisers, main and a dessert. Thought that all the dishes were very delightful and I enjoyed everything. Service was also great, and I left with a very happy and full belly.

The food is seriously incredible. A great experience of food from a different culture that has been brought into the 21st century. The service is extremely good and a great atmosphere. I recommend it as a place for a relaxed dinner for two or for a group out for great food and an awesome time. Strong wine list also. I will be back for sure.

Exquisite Peruvian food in an elegant and trendy atmosphere. We enjoyed sharing delightful dishes while relaxing and spending time with friends. We shared: Ceviche De Marluza, Quinoa Hummus, Eggplant Causa, Veggie Croquette, Pan De Yema, Sparkling Waters & Estrella Damm Keg. Taste and presentation of our dishes was both delicious and artistic. It is fairly pricey but the overall experience is well worth it. Enjoy!

Melbourne you have done it again !!! Another hidden gem of a restaurant. Ordered the banquet meal and the quality and presentation of the food was amazing. I was not a fan of the cocktails but don’t let that stop you from visiting . A great restaurant for a date or catch up with friends or with family. A must try restaurant down an iconic Melbourne laneway.

My group went for the Ultimate Peruvian Experience and it was excellent. Every dish was so full of flavour and made with terrific ingredients. Hands down the best Ceviches I've had anywhere, great fried chicken, perfectly cooked steak and without a doubt the best Tres Leches ever! The crew were pleasant and attentive as well. Highly recommended for a great meal in a relaxed setting. I will be back again!

Quite possibly the best restaurant I've ever been to. The atmosphere was elegant without being pretentious, chic and cultural without being cliche; all the staff we interacted with were absolutely delightful (and the bartender was like a robot working in fast forward it was amazing to watch, and evidence that they're only hiring the best); and the food was of course amazing. Delicious. And interesting and unusual without being weird or putting novelty ahead of quality. Absolutely recommend.

Food and service was amazing! The waiter was so accomodating to the dietary requirements of my pregnant friend. They offered to cut a portion of some of the steak and lamb to cook them well done so she would not miss out.

First time having Peruvian food and glad we decided to go here for dinner. Fantastic flavours from the country. Loved all the dishes particularly the barramundi with yucca and the sauce (Peruvian flavours). The salad was very tasty and though it looked simple, it was the dressing that made the dish. The Ceviche was fresh as. The staff who served us was very knowledgeable of the restaurant's menu and was very helpful recommending what to try. A good place to dine when in Melbourne.

Love this place & all the SanTelmo Group restaurants! Having moved from Bondi we are always looking for fresh, bright food with the emphasis on fresh vegetables & protein rather than carb heavy meals. The experience was made even better by HENRY our waiter. A good waiter can make or break an experience, HENRY was not just good, he was BRILLIANT! Knowledgeable, friendly and very attentive especially with regards to checking Gluten free options/ modifications. THANK YOU

Where do I even start? Every dish we ordered was a hit! Probably one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Will definitely be back the next time I’m in Melbourne. Oh! And their pisco sours have ruined me. I can never have another PS anywhere else now.

I have never tried Peruvian food before. My cousin took me here and it was such a great experience. I loved the flavours and presentation was outstanding. We had to walk down a dark alley filled with walls of artistic graffiti. Very moody and a great vibe!

Went here for a birthday dinner with my partner and had a ball of a time. The staff serving us was beyond cheerful and accommodating of our needs and made us feel at home in no time. I was trying Peruvian cuisine for the first time, and the taste just blew my mind. Would go to Melbourne all the way from a regional town just to visit the place. 10/10 recommend the place, the people and the food!

I love this place! Will definitely go back to try other dishes and drinks. What I find impressive - their fermented casava bread, swordfish ceviche, corn cake (Omg so good), lamb heart skewers (absolutely a highlight of our meal!), and potato. Their steak is absolutely delicious too.

My partner and I ate here recently and my gosh was this amazing. We had such great service with explanations of every dish we reviewed in the Feed Me menu. It was $79ish for the best food I have ever eaten. We have never had Peruvian food before and we intend to come back with our family and our friend group to bless their lives!!!! Every dish we reviewed was absolutely mind blowing. Thank you again for everything & we’ll see you again soon!!!

Couldn’t rate this place high enough!!! We just picked it randomly off the google reviews and were absolutely blown away by the food and the service. Each meal was just an absolute flavour explosion and there were so many surprising and interesting food combinations. The manager actually went through the whole menu with us and made some recommendations …all of which were perfect. Do yourself a favour and try it out!

Four of us came for lunch on Sunday. We were seated quickly and ordered drinks. We were finished our drinks pretty much by the time our food order was taken. We wanted to do 3 “feed me” menus and one person order independently due to dietary restrictions but we were not allowed to do that. That’s fine but it should state that on the menu. It just says min 2 people max 7. However, the main on the feed me we were able to change one to accommodate his needs but it meant 2 of the dishes he was unable to eat. The service was good and very friendly and the food was super taste. The kingfish ceviche is one of the best I have had. My only other issue is the seat we were in was freezing … I think we must’ve been below an AC but it made the meal a bit uncomfortable being so cold.

We went to Pastuso to have lunch, 3 adults and a baby. Amazing experience! The food was delicious! We shared a few small plates and have mains and dessert and was all perfect! Sizes are perfect too. Super friendly and kind staff; thank you to Javiera for all the information about food to my Australian husband and friend with every single dish and for taking the time to make my baby boy smile and giggle! Thank you to Flynn for the good vibe and conversations! And to Gabriel for his recommendations and kindness! We are definitely coming back ☺️♥️☺️

Went to Pastuso for the first time this weekend. I had been told how good it was and it certainly lived up to expectation. The food was delicious (the tuna and Wagyu beef skewers were amazing). We had a late lunch here (4.30!) so didn't have mains, definitely going back to do so. What we had was first class, authentic, tasty and well presented. That's usually enough but to get good service on top of it, we left very happy.

Delightful venue at the end of AC/DC lane. It was a rainy day but the restaurant filled quickly. We didn’t have a reservation but to be certain I would next time. We ordered the set menu and enjoyed the flavours of each course. Not huge servings but enough to feel satisfied.

We had a birthday dinner last night at Pastuso. We were expecting good food and friendly service and it was definitely worth our expectations. Not only the food was very well planned and prepared also the Argentinian waitress looking after us, her name was Flo(sorry if spelled wrong), she was very friendly and took her time explaining each of the dishes to us:). Recommended.

The food and service at Pastuso are both excellent. We had the 'Journey through Peru' set menu which includes a good selection of dishes. The highlights were the anticuchos and the pastel de choclo. And, of course, it's always nice to have a pisco sour. It was not our first visit to Pastuso and will not be our last.

Even better than expected! The food, service, wine menu were all even better than we had hoped for during these Covid times. There were a few of us (legally) celebrating a birthday and every single person was delighted at every course. (And that beef...the ribs...oh my goodness...) And our wonderful and attentive waiting staff, clean restrooms, great ambience rounded out the evening. We can't wait to return!

Four of is kiwi gals e were in Melbourne for Shoe Fair and wanted to try something a bit different and somewhere that was handy to where we were staying at the Adina. My bosses daughter suggested this place and boy it did not disappoint!!! All our dishes were beautiful and so full of flavour. Our mouths were left buzzing if there was one thing that really got our tastebuds humming it was the little tomatoes in the crispy chicken dish OMG the flavour!!!!! I would LOVE to know how they make these beautiful balls of flavour the taste was insane and like nothing I have ever tasted in my life almost like they were infused or something. Have tried googling it but to be honest how do you Google such flavour thank so much for a memorable evening 10/10

We ate here last night. There was hand sanitizer by the door and seating limited to 50 people at a time. I saw wait staff regularly use the sanitizer. So glad to see the restraunt taking the health of staff and diners seriously. The food was delicious and service fantastic. The waitress overheard that there was a birthday at the table and bought dessert out with a candle. This was the second time we have eaten here and both times it was a fantastic experience. I hope that the tip given via eftpos goes to staff and doesn't get absorbed into the buisness as the staff deserve it. We will be back

The experience at Pastuso starts with the gorgeous location, smack bang in the middle of AC/DC lane. You then walk through the door and are met with friendly, knowledgeable staff and a breathtaking view from your table of much of the artwork this famous laneway has to offer. The menu is extensive and well thought out, with choices to match any palate. I was not disappointed by any of the dishes that I tried and found the spice level and flavours to be in perfect harmony. Each flavour layers beautifully and compliments those before it. There is a good list of wines and a delicious list of specialty cocktails that I tried quite a few of. Every drink was as well finished as the meals and the perfect accompaniment for the dishes I ordered. I recommend this restaurant to all who read this. Thank you for a wonderful experience to all the staff at Pastuso.

Had a dinner date at this famed Peruvian tapas restaurant on a Saturday night. We were underwhelmed by the experience. Busy lively crowds, decent service, food was only so so for the price they charged. Calamari was overcooked and dry. Almost every table ordered the donuts and that was hard and dry and frankly tasteless. The banana prawn ceveche was nice. The wagyu skewers was the highlight, juicy and tender cubes of beef was full of flavour. The accompanying tuna skewer though was overcooked and dry. I suggest if you come here, stick with the meat dishes.

Food was amazing but waitress was quite abrupt and rude from the moment we sat down. We understood and were happy with the 2hr seating window but felt rushed the whole time. At 7.45pm the bill was put down on our table and she then came back 5 minutes later interrupting our conversation, not even saying “excuse me” at least and simply asking which card we were using to pay.

Everything we ordered here were delicious! The chicken was quite generous, the Peruano cerviche was certainly a highlight. It was rare to see soursop outside South America, so was interesting to see them making it into a pie. The alpaca tartare was new to me, tastes like tuna.

What blew me away was the fact they have a vegan menu/options for my husband. A rarity for a good restaurant. Not a vegan myself I found the food interesting and tasty. But I wasn't WOWED or blown away for the price. The ambiance was great. Cocktails excellent. The waitress was a little short with us. But overall an enjoyable night out.

We had dinner here on Saturday. I think its quite busy. I waited for an hour for our main. Waitress was very friendly. She knew it was taking too long and kept apologizing. Alpaca ribs are pretty interesting. Seeet corn cakes were highly recommended and they tasted great. Roast chicken was alright. I would rather order other meat.

Had a fantastic Easter Sunday lunch today. The chicken was fantastic, my partner's flathead was divine. Sweetcorn cakes were great. As a whisky fan, the Black Whisky was a very pleasant surprise. We were waited on wonderously by Steph (give her a raise!) And just when I thought I was too full to eat anything more, Steph treated me to the spongecake on the house for my birthday, which put an exclamation mark on the experience marvellously! Delicioso!

Yummy food from the set menu. Good variety of meat. This is pricey place. Ambience is good too. I have given 3 star rating mainly because they charge 50% of set menu if there is a cancellation. They say it’s written on their booking form but still it is wrong thing to do.

The food was absolutely amazing! There was a bit of a wait between our courses but we were incredibly happy with the quality of food and of the service as well! Our attendant Oscar was very attentive and was more than happy to walk us through the menu and even suggested some amazing cocktails and desserts as well. Thank you to Oscar and all the chefs for an incredible evening! ✨🥰

The cocktails are stunning and the food choice is something unique. Unfortunately the alpaca dish didn't taste like alpaca (still great taste) and the fish dish comes with bones in it. Which is totally fine but a bit annoying. Service is exceptional l... 5 stars 🌟

13 Feb 2023 First time trying Peruvian food, and it's pretty good. Got their set menu, so no headache. The minus part is they're too rushed to serve the food. Haven't finished my cold dishes, shrimps, squid, and salmon (first 3 pics), they serve the meat already, and I have to request to stop my next food 🤣

Lunch more. Worry less! What a great express lunch menu here for $45. Was keen to try something different and this Peruvian restaurant hit the spot! We ordered the cured tuna, beef steak, small potatoes, casava bread and leches cake for dessert (tuna, beef and potatoes included in express lunch and others we added on). Every dish was amazing except leches cake was a letdown and tasted pretty average. We will probably go back when the menu changes..for $45..you cant beat it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Pastuso. We went with the set meal. It is on the expensive side but we were incredibly full by the end and the dishes were great. Tres Leches at the end was gorgeous. I’m not vegetarian however, the sweet potato had incredible flavour. I’d love to know how it is prepared. We got there around 8:15 and left around 10:30pm; we weren’t rushed, which was great. The service was good, a nice mix of friendly and professional. 5 stars would have been given if it was not as expensive. We would definitely return for a special occasion. Accessibility: The restaurant is at the end of an angled lane that would likely be very difficult in a manual chair without assistance. Cars cannot go down the lane to get you closer to the restaurant. Once inside, it was easy to maneuver in a wheelchair, no steps, but slight angled floor. I am not sure if there is an accessible bathroom. There is a variety of seating available, standard chairs and higher stools at a bar.

Picture Perfect Steak One of the best steak I had in Melbourne. We ordered the special Tomahawk and it didn’t disappoint. The rub, the cook and the quality of the meat is top notch! The ceviche especially the yellowfin tuna is trending forwards sashimi instead of ceviche The service, the atmosphere and the steak is incredible! Will definitely come back again

This place is great! We had the set menu, along with some pisco sours and other fun cocktails. Every dish was delicious, but the beef skewers and tres leches cake were highlights.

My wife and I were gifted dinner here as a wedding present and it was simply amazing. A really positive energy walking in, friendly staff who took the time to explain what was what with good humour and attentiveness but not invasive. The food was mouth wateringly good, steak was perfect. Overall we loved it and would go back again!

I came here for dinner with my mum while we visited Melbourne in January. It was such a great recommendation to come here from a friend. We had Miles who served us, and while his name is spelt incorrectly, and should be 'Myles', he can be forgiven because he was super friendly, chatty and a vibe. The food was exquisite, but waaaaaaay too much for us to finish (we had the set menu of what felt like 700 courses). It was honestly amazing, the quality, the taste and the presentation of the food. The cocktails were also perfect. Low-key wanted to take the little glass with designs on it - because how beautiful is it (pictured)! We loved the food, the service, the music and the vibe of this place. I'd love to visit again!

Best Peruvian restaurant in Melbourne, this being our second time here without disappointment. Love coming to this place for the amazing food which is second to none. Would recommend trying a pisco cocktail or two while you're at it. The staff are very attentive & the atmosphere fit for a classic South American dining experience.

We had a fantastic meal here. The team were all keen to help with recommendations and keen to hear what we thought of them. We loved them! Great music playing all night too! Loved our visit to Pastuso and would definitely go again.

This place rocks... Meat cooked to perfection. 800gm rib-eye didn't disappoint but share it and enjoy the rest of the menu. Sauces on point... Looking forward to my next visit.

Enjoyed a wonderful dinner with family with the ceviche and the eye fillet being the key gastronomical highlights. Looking forward to the next visit to try a few more Peruvian fusion dishes.

What a gastronomical experience with service to match. Service that gives Apple a run for its money. Where to start but the flavour!!! Michelin won’t bother to come here as they are not bribed enough. Nor, will they bother as they ignore people shouting from the rooftops about how good food can be (go to Shang Ri La Yak Cheese)!!! While Michelin won’t bother to come here - you should. The food is drool worthy. The tingle in the back of my throat while I type is testimony of the flavours running through the cooking style. The only picture missed was the Pisco sour, which should be tried (if you drink alcohol). -)”/ the rest. Only go to the best!

We walked in on a Thursday night with no booking. The staff were wonderfully warm and welcoming. We sat at the bar overlooking the kitchen. Our waitress Caitlin was incredible. She made us feel immediately at home. She gave us a recommendation on how many dishes would suit the 2 of us and she was spot on perfect. We started with a couple pisco sours that had our palates singing! Then the food! The first bite was the scallop on a corn tartlet with a ponzu jelly. My god! Best single bite I've had in my life, until the lamb heart skewer later on in the feast! We had a couple cervices, a barramundi and pulpo dish that knocked us straight off our socks. But it has to be the skewer for the win. Lamb heart served on a pom puree that was out of this world. If you are reading this rant just do yourself a favor and go there right now. Unbelievably good food, wine, cocktails and service.

Had the most amazing experience at Pastuso with my family and partner! None of us had ever had Peruvian food before and were completely clueless in ordering, but our waitress Cat couldn’t have been more knowledgeable and accomodating. We tried a variety of entrees, ceviche, street food, mains, sides and then managed to share one dessert between the four of us. Some definite stand outs for me personally were the Ceviche de Salmon (easily the best salmon I’ve eaten in my life), the Pastel de Choclo (the black garlic whipped feta needs to be sold by the kilo) and the Solomillo wagyu striploin. I don’t do well with spicy food but nothing was overly hot, just bursting with flavour in general. The service, especially by our waitress Cat, was absolutely superb and truly made the experience so personal and special. Can’t wait to come back!

Compared to the other restaurants in the San Telmo Group, this is the one I least like so far. I haven’t tried Robata though. The service was slow - took a long time for food to come out from their kitchen. The worst was desserts which came more than 40 minutes after we said we were ready for dessert. It is good it came with a birthday candle and a happy birthday serenade from the dining staff attending to us. Their mocktails were very ordinary given the price and again compared to Asado and Palermo. I think the highlight of the meal was the Tres Leches with my birthday candle. They can still do a lot to improve. Not sure we’ll be back though.

We celebrated a birthday, and Pastuso did a great job. Very delicious Peruvian dishes served, generous portions, and diverse flavours. Santiago was our waiter. He was extremely helpful with us, especially with some of our guests who had food requirements. I would only like to recommend more pisco onzes in the pisco sour. It was a little light.

My mum and I were visiting Melbourne from Brisbane. Food was absolutely amazing - really authentic. The sauces were beautiful and really added to the dishes. The service was great with suggestions and recommendations of what to try. Would recommend and definitely will go again.

Flo, our attendant was lovely. She took the time to explain the menu and asked if we had any dietary requirements. It was a delightful dinner and every dish which came aroused our palates. I can’t go past the cassava quinoa bread which was so moist and fluffy. We all gave 👍👍👍
