Great little cafe. The proprietor is super nice and friendly. They have a wonderful pastry selection and make good coffee and smoothies. Lots of books for kids of all ages to read while you're there, too. This is the only place in Forest Hills that sells freshly roasted specialty coffee from third wave roasters like Joe, Intelligentsia, and Stumptown. I can always pick up a new single origin to try!

Nice quiet place with a very welcoming setting. Great vegan choices, they have almond milk for coffee. Healthy and tasty smoothies that are good for calorie counting. I am happy they are in our neighborhood.

Definitely the gem of the neighborhood! One of my favorite coffee shops, ever! The person running it is very friendly, the book aesthetics are wonderful, and the coffee/pastries have never disappointed me.

Best place. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. They don't have a huge variety of food, but what they have is great. You can also sit here and have coffee or tea. They also sell the illustrious Chock Stars!! Definitely go!!

One of the few remaining coffee shops that still have that personal, hospitable feeling. I was visiting New York, and meeting some friends in Forest Hills. I needed a coffee shop to work at for a few hours before lunch. The coffee shop owner was super friendly when I explained my situation, and welcome me to stay and get what work I needed to done. I really appreciate the hospitality in the coffee was tasty as well. Happy to recommend this place and I wouldn’t hesitate to stop by for another morning or afternoon in the future.

Came here for coffee when I happened to walk by. The barista was incredibly sweet and made my day! My iced latte with oat milk was the perfect pick up for my day. And the interior decor is rustic and adorable

Elly’s cafe did not live up to expectations. We came there hoping to find a nice cafe to sit and get some work done. Unfortunately the tables and chairs are quite small - seems more fit for kids than adults. There is only one electrical plug and no bathroom. In addition, when purchasing my order, Elly was peering over the pay terminal to see how much tip I would leave for the overpriced smoothie. I felt this was highly impolite and throughout our stay it was made clear that we were not welcome.

Cozy coffeshop. Great service. My oat raisin scone wasn’t too sweet and the hot chocolate had caramel sauce - unexpected!-I also loved the book exchange.

This is suuuuuuch a cool spot, highly recommended 🥰 cafe and ceramics workshop, you can see the ceramics pieces made by the owner and her kid, they're just unbearably cute 🫠 oh and coffee is good too

Great selection of whole coffee beans! One of the few specialty coffee shops in the area, great place to try different beans and learn what you like!

This place is exactly what I’ve been looking for around here! The owners were very welcoming and helpful. My iced coffee was delicious. I didn’t get to try the food or yummy-looking fresh pastries but I will definitely be returning to check them out!

I complained a few years ago that the place didn't smell nice and the coffee was weak. I've been back a few times since then and have not detected a bad smell. And I've steered clear of the brewed coffee. The pastry is good, and (as I said then) it's still a nice place, though they're not open that often (and sometimes they're not even open during their posted open hours). So, four stars, which is enough to bring me back when I'm in the neighborhood and find them open.

This place is so warm and welcoming. The coffee and smoothies are what we tried and they were so delicious. You can taste the quality and the fact that they are healthy. However, the best thing about going here is how nice Elizabeth is. She automatically puts me in a good mood!
