Amazing place with a great historical value. A bridge that resists all the negative impacts through out the yeras, centuries. Anyone who is traveling through Bosnia should pay a visit to this amazing bridge . Nearby there is a hotel with a terrace where you can rest and have something to eat. Teracce has an amazing view on the bridge and Drina river.

What to say about this magnificent historical bridge...old, rich with history...Ivo Andrić made a book about it and got a Nobel Prize for it. It's a very nice feeling to walk on it. To be here. Always wanted to visit this bridge and finally did it. For every recommendation.

Wasn't prepare to come to visit here because our young host in Sarajevo said there was not much things to do in Visegrad 😅🙃. On our way to cross the border to Serbia from Sarajevo in August 2019. From our car in the distance spot the bridge, breathtaking and magnificent👍👍👍 I felt we had to stop and walk on it on our own foot. Due to our tight time schedule, I had to turn down locals' business to go for a boat ride on the Drina. We did a quick walk around of the part of the town next to the bridge. Lots of cafe and restaurant. Some coffee pot and souvenir stands too. Definitely will come back here next time and stay a few days.

As a landmark it's pretty awesome! If you have chance to visit this place - do it. You wont regret walking across the bridge and feel that epicness... 😂 There are no entry fees or something like that. You can ride on a boat for 5 euro

A bridge of immense historical and cultural value in this part of the world, popularized in Ivo Andric's "The Bridge on the Drina", a historical novel that was the main force behind its author's Nobel Prize for literature. Several sections of the bridge were destroyed, and some damaged, but a large part of it is still the original construction. It's now a strictly pedestrian bridge under UNESCO protection.

The Višegrad Bridge was commissioned by Grand Vizier Mehmed Pasha Sokolović, who exercised power over a long period at the summit of the Ottoman Empire during the reign of three sultans as a tribute to his native region and a symbol of trade and prosperity. Construction of the bridge took place between 1571 and 1577. Major renovations of the bridge have taken place in 1664, 1875, 1911, 1940 and 1950–52. Three of its 11 arches were destroyed during World War I and five were damaged during World War II but subsequently restored.

Bridge with story, separates and connect people for centuries. This bridge has been sacrificed and took sacrifice. Our Nobel prize writer Ivo Andrić described it's personality in his book "Na Drini ćuprija"

Impressive bridge. Easy parking next to it from the town side at just 1 euro per hour. I read the book by Ivo Andrič and enjoyed being there. Road to and from Višegrad requires patience

Unique bridge, totally in harmony with its surroundings. A work of real beauty. Read na drini cupria to get the full context.

Beautiful bridge, highly secured with cameras. Great idea for tourists is to spend night in Višegrad and have a walk on the bridge early morning when the sun is rising. If you lucky you might catch morning fog spreading across the river!
