Horrible. I will not recommend anyone to go here. The animals were not kept in the best housing, bowls were moldy, python pools were disgusting, livestock needed hoof trimming, burrowing animals didn’t have nearly enough substrate, emu didn’t have grass, the bobcat didn’t have access to water, the rats didn’t have places to climb, I could go on and on. It was sad to see. As someone who has been a keeper of a crocodile and multiple snakes at a different facility, I know it is not that difficult to provide the most basic needs of these animals. The reticulated should have a clean pool to soak and drink from. With the owner claiming he is one of the “world’s most sought-after herpetologists,” I’d expect the herps to at least be in better condition. I left there feeling very sad for the animals.

Staff is so friendly!! Ed is great and doing wonderful things here saving these animals, wish I could help more!! Will definitely be back!!! Thanks for amazing animal love on my birthday today!!!! Me and my man had a great time!! I’m so sorry I picked up the rabbit but it filled my heart with love and didn’t realize it’s was a rule!!!

Finally made it to animal adventures after following them on Instagram for a little while, and it did not disappoint. After going back and forth we ended up just going in with general admissions and walking around ourselves. The kids (7,10 and 14) loved seeing all the animals. We watched one of the shows and were able to interact and learn about some of the animals. If you have a child really interested in learning about animals this is the place to go, and I would recommend a private tour after seeing people our theirs during our time. Will definitely be going back for Owl connection! (A little muddy so wear boots!)

We had a great visit to Animal Adventures Rescue Center!! We did the pick six and got to interact with a Kangaroo, fox, kinkajou, wallaby, owl & armadillo. Our guide Chevy (who is the granddaughter of the owner) was very knowledgeable and super friendly!! The cost was very reasonable & the rescue center does an amazing job with their animals. Afterwards we walked around and checked out all the other incredible animals there. The rest of the staff were also very informative & personable. We will definitely be back!!

I was a little unsure upon arrival - but upon interacting with the staff and realizing the rescue nature of this sanctuary I became very impressed with their mission and the care of the staff for their animals. They knew all the back stories and their relationships and devotion to caring for the animals was heartwarming. We paid extra for the cat connection and we’re able to spend significant one on one with Drew and the animals. His respect and devotion to the animals was apparent and he made the experience fabulous. What a great animal rescue!!

We went to the Misfit of animals and the Owl handling class last weekend. We (me and my 11 year old) had a great time. It was interesting to learn about the animals and their background. The animals were awesome. We were able to walk around after and there were some employees outside to answer questions which was nice. The guy doing both classes (I apologize I don't remember his name) did a great job, and was very personable, helpful, and friendly. Looking forward to trying other classes....

This is an animal rescue and rehab facility. I really respect what these guys are doing for the animals people think they want as pets but learn the hard way they can't keep, or those that become injured. This a great place to learn about animals and even get to handle some. They have a volunteer program for kids ages 12 and up that want to learn about animal care. They also host birthday parties, corporate events, and summer camps. They have a great outdoor play area, with picnic tables, and a bunny petting area. I don't know about the logistics of how animals are kept or potentially relocated but the only thing that was hard for me to see was some of the animals in cages, such as the kangaroos. It just seemed to be an incredibly small space for them. Maybe this isn't where they are always kept though. I didn't ask. If there isn't parking at the main entrance, there's an extra upper lot with a path right to their grounds. Overall would recommend for any wildlife lovers!

The two hour tour was SO worth it. We couldn't believe how many animals we got to see, hold, touch, and interact with. It was incredible and a life long memory. Xena was an extra special tour guide, since she had a connection with many of the animals.

I had the BEST birthday. my husband and I did the personal tour with Ed the owner. AMAZING, worth every penny. He was so knowledgeable and friendly. The animals were beautiful and so well cared for. After our tour we spent time walking around and taking pictures of the animals. Thank you Ed and the entire staff at Animal Adventure.

I have never seen this level of animal interaction in my life and I’m 38. The staff is amazing and the animals are well cared for. This is a rehab facility and rescue center. Shame on people for negatively reviewing it. I want to give a special shout out to Marshall. He came around and asked us in a very friendly manner if we had questions several times and was very knowledgeable about the rescue animals. Particularly the reptiles. I will absolutely be coming back here again and will be recommending it to anyone I know. Such a great day 😀

I found Animal Adventures on google and did a lot of research on the facility itself before I visited, and the trip by far exceeded my expectations. I would recommend the tours here over any commercial zoo I've been to before. Many reviews said this place was small, but to my surprise it was bigger than I had expected. Most of the animals here are rescues, which is a wonderful cause and gives these animals a home that they can live comfortably in when they are not suited to survive on their own. The interactions with the animals was more than exciting and I was able to learn a lot more about animals that I didn't know. Our tour guide was Angela, and she blew both of our minds. She was so kind and knowledgeable, and really seemed enthusiastic about her job. She even went the extra mile and showed us a few more animals after our scheduled time which was so nice of her to do. I immediately fell in love with this little zoo and the animals here. I will definitely be going back soon for another tour!

We recently took our 10yr old and 13 yr old. Didn't really know what to expect, went there for a meet with Humphrey the Capybara! We spent 2hrs here and could have spent even more time!!! There are so many different animals to see, the animals are happy, awake (unless they are a sleepy animal!) and "friendly". I was so happy we were able to see such wild animals so up close! I LOVED that there was always an employee ready to answer any questions or even just give us some fun facts on any of the animals! They have a few shows throughout the day where they bring out a few animals and tell u all about them and get a quick easy touch of them! We got to know a chinchilla, a lizard, a ferret, a big snake, and a baby alligator! So many positive things to say about Animal Adventures, we can't wait to get back!!

A fun place to learn about different animals and encounter them up close! Alex, the manager, was good at explaining the interesting characteristics of each animal. They did a great job of allowing guests to interact with the animals in a safe manner. All the critters are kept comfortable with different enrichment features to keep them happy.

Had a birthday party for my 6 year old! She loved it, her friends loved it and mommy loved how easy and cool it was! We had two hours which was plenty of time! The kids played in the play area and went into the bunny petting zoo which they LOVED!! Then we wondered around and saw all the animals! Then it was time for the private birthday show (u can choose private show or private tour) show was AWESOME!!! Hannah our staff member was so knowledgable. Such an easy but fun party! Totally worth the cost and def recommend!

I had an incredible experience at Animal Adventures! I did the extreme tour with the owner as a birthday present for my boyfriend and it was truly a once in a lifetime experience. Ed was so knowledgeable about all of the animals and we were able to get up close and interact with several of the animals. It is clear that Ed and the rest of the staff are so passionate about what they do and care for these animals. Thank you Ed for an amazing experience. We will never forget it! I will definitely be back to visit!

My son (7) and I did a private tour with Brendon (sorry if I have the name wrong) ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!! Best experience!!! He was so knowledgeable, friendly, caring and answered all our questions. The zoo is not your ordinary zoo. Yes it is a bit "homemade". But you can tell by the staff that these animals are LOVED and cared for. Giving them the best life they can have for their circumstance. Highly recommend a private tour!!! We will definitely be doing it again!

Was very disappointed that most staff were not wearing masks in the indoor areas. Some of the staff who were wearing them had them below the nose which isn't effective. During the show, the child who was assisting, bringing animals over to people to pet was also not wearing mask. There was extremely poor direction on where to go. Signs would have been helpful.

Animal Adventures is wonderful! When I tell you that asked HOURS worth of questions! At one point, Brian just joined us and walked around with us to each animal because I had so many questions! He and Dean were so knowledgeable and friendly. The entire staff was! They take incredible love and care for each animal, many of them being hand-raised. I am both a supporter and I hope to volunteer in the future. They are wonderful!!

We had an amazing experience! Yesterday we did the extreme tour and our guide Zen was extremely knowledgeable. I highly recommend the tour as it was informative, engaging, and interactive. Kids were able to hold, feed, or close encounter nearly every animal at the center. They fed alligators, hugged kangaroos, held an armadillo, and so much more! Animals well cared for and all staff go above and beyond to ensure the experience is a positive one!

I like that it is a rescue facility. We went during Covid 19 and there was no possibility of social distancing here. I felt that many areas could have easily been one way, but it was a tightly packed free for all with volunteers not wearing masks.

My wife is a small animal Veterinarian and I was looking for something animal themed to do as a spontaneous surprise. I discovered this location 9/25 and was able to book the extreme tour 9/26 in the afternoon. I had hoped for some hands on interaction and this tour delivered in spades. Our guide Nina, was fantastic at explaining about all the animals and you could tell she really cared about all the animals there. We got to hold/pet a huge variety of things. Emus, owls, armadillos, kangaroos, toucans, porcupines, and many others were included in the hold/pet experience. The porcupines were a surprise hit for us. My wife has removed plenty of their quills from dogs in ER medicine but I was not expecting what I saw. I guess I had always pictured the African ones as being what we had here. We did feed those by the way and dam they are cute. Anyway, the ones in New England are…shockingly soft. They hide their quills under a layer of fur and bust them out as needed. Overall, this was a fascinating trip and further entrenches a love and respect for nature. I highly recommend this place and doing the extreme tour. It is incredible value for the cost. Thank you Nina and the rest of the staff for a wonderful anniversary experience.

This place has won the hearts and minds of our little ones. A large number of cool animals for a sanctuary. Animals are super healthy and well cared for. Plan to spend at least 2 hours to see all of the animals. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The animal show they put on was a big hit with our kids. Thank you Nina. We want to go back there soon. A bobcat, Arctic fox & a link jus to name a few of their amazing animals. They even got an Emu. You owe it to your kids to bring them there. A bunny pen where kids can enter and pet the bunnies.

It was one of the greatest tour I have ever done. We got pet kangaroos, armadillos and so much more. We will never forget this. Thank u

What a wonderful visit! I went to Animal Adventures with my wife and children for a private tour in honor of my daughter's birthday. We all fell in love with the beautiful creatures of all kinds living here! The zoo keepers' love for their charges is quite evident, but they also love sharing their incredible friends with guests. We will definitely be back!

Firstly, I was very impressed yesterday with this facility.the best part is the relaxing part. It doesn’t seem chaotic or rushed. I also love how it is an animal rescue. tThe rules are easy for kids to follow. This place is small enough that you do not need a whole day, but large enough to stay busy. The animal show is fun, and kids get to touch many animals and reptiles. The outdoor area has a lot of play space and playground structures with toys. The children can go into the bunny area and feed them, and walk into where the tortoises are. It’s very interactive. A lot of the workers are teens and they are friendly and helpful. We got to touch the chinchilla, and one of the workers went into the fox cage to play with the fox and tell us about him. Also the employees are helpful in answering questions. We had a great time. I took my nieces and nephews, ages 2.5, 6 and 8.

The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and personable. High five to Lisa and Brian for being so awesome during my visit over February break. The animals are well cared for and eat like royalty with local grocery store donations of fruits and veggies. The playground with wooden castle and ship structures are huge hits with my kiddos ages 7 and 4. There are employees around to let you pet the animals if you ask. It’s not a sad place like the zoo with sullen animals. These critters are living their best lives often with a missing eye, limb or tail. Being in the wild, they wouldn’t make it very long with their permanent injuries. Thanks for another fun day at Animal Adventures!

My boyfriend and I were not exactly the intended audience but it was about 2 hours of fun for $15 each, so not bad. Biggest suggestion would be that they should have more information about the animals. What are their names, what was their situation before this, etc. They did this with the monkeys and that was pretty cool. I also just wanted to mention they had a poster explaining the timeline of the bible next to replicas of proto human skulls. Too much text for any kid to read, no harm done, but amusing and bemusing - just added to the experience

  • 5/5 Michael C. 3 years ago on Google
Took a tour with a young lady by the name of Lisa. Did the pick 6 hour long option, got to visit and interact with several animals, and she was very knowledgeable and very friendly. There are of course limitations on how you can interact with the animals, but if you go into this understanding that you are sure to have a great time interacting with some wonderful critters. The whole space is very welcoming and open, and the people working there obviously care about and enjoy working with the animals.

My 6 year old charge and I came to experience the Reptile tour as well as visit the zoo. We had a wonderful time! My charge was so excited seeing EVERYTHING! Becca, a wonderful, patient staff person showed my charge tons of snacks, lizards, alligators, scorpions, etc. He got to hold or touch so many of the reptiles. He was thrilled!! The highlights for him was everything. He couldn’t narrow down any one specific group of animal/reptile that he loved the most. He did get so excited when he learned he could go into the rabbit enclosure and tortoise enclosure and touch the animals. His only regret was not being able to see the snapping turtle. We couldn’t find it in the pond. All in all a great experience!! I will bring him again for sure! And thanks again to Becca for her knowledge about the reptiles she was showing my charge. And most importantly her patience with all his questions and frenetic energy to see and touch everything he could!

5 of us (including 8 year old granddaughter) and had a great time. Had a private "reptile" tour. Very good tour guide (tanks Quinn). Took her time, answered all our questions and more. Wandered around the rest if the facility after (if you take a tour it gives you general admission) Highly recommended.

15 of us went in the rain! We had a LOT of fun, even in the rain. Great place for the kids. The animal show was very educational and the young man doing it was very knowledgeable, he kept a room full of kids attention! I love that these animals are rescues. The only downside was the smell in the "mian building", maybe some fans or ventilation would help. We didn't spend to much time in there but again it didn't stop us from enjoying the rest of the zoo! Shout out to all the staff, all were very young and all seemed super knowledgeable and were very helpful! * if you read the bad reviews ( I did) understand it is small, it is not funded like the big zoos, however nothing was dirty or anything like the reviews say. Go support them so they can expand and give the animals more space!

Such an amazing experience! I took my two teenagers and we did the pick 6 tour. Our guide was spectacular (wish I could remember her name) she was so informative and nice. We must have spent over 3 hours in total awe!

The size of the sanctuary is very deceiving. We were surprised by the variety of animals. Our Zookeeper/guide was wonderful. She walked us all around to visit all the animal exhibits. She was very knowledgeable about each and every animal and their history/story. She was able to answer all of our questions (we had a lot) and was amazing with the animals. We were really impressed with her alligator-wrangling skills! You can tell these folks take really good care of the animals and paying the extra bucks to be able to interact/hold them is so worth it. We look forward to going again. Our favorites among our group of five people were: porcupines/lynx/owls/alligators/chinchillas - never thought we would ever pet a porcupine ❤️😀

  • 5/5 Rocky H. 1 year ago on Google
It's not a zoo... There are no big habitats to stand in front of and wonder where the animals are hiding... There are cages and pens for animals that needed someplace to go and to be taken care of and you are incredibly close up to most of them. The staff was very friendly. The kids loved the animal show, they met and touched a ferret, lizard, chinchilla, snake and an alligator. It's a great place to visit... But don't expect a zoo.

  • 5/5 Robin D. 1 year ago on Google
It started with a show at 11 am. They have a few throughout the day. A zoologist brings out 5 animals and educates the group on each. You are allowed to ask questions and touch them. After, you can go through the whole place, inside and out to see all the different animals. It is enjoyable for kids and adults.

I had a fantastic time at Animal Adventures. I love all of the animals and reptiles that they have. Very exotic, I shall say. The employees are very caring and they look like they enjoy being there with the animals. I was assisted by one of the volunteer and she was so helpful! I had only purchased the general admission but the service that she provided was like a private tour. It was a very cool experience! Will return next time to do a private tour or an animal encounter tour, that way I can pet the foxes!

I took my just turned 2 year old here for the first time and was very Impressed! My daughter had a great time, you can wander the grounds/exhibits as you please and there are a bunch of play structures for kids to play/climb on as well. The animals were well cared for and the enclosures were super clean. There were employees all over the place taking care of the animals and everyone was super friendly and informative. Even if they were cleaning/feeding/watering the animals, they always interacted and told us information about the animals we were looking at. We didn’t get to see everything as my daughter started to meltdown lol but we will be back for sure! The animal show was also super cool and very informative!

My 6 tear old son liked this little zoo much more than the larger zoos we ever visited. It was more of a behind the scenes experience, something you don't get in the larger zoos. I only regret not getting the names of the employees, to personally thank them. The girl who showed off the small animals, was more like a neighbor showing off her pets than a paid employee doing a show. The guy who called us for the alligator and crocodile feeding. He even let my son feed a few of them. The guys who showed up out of nowhere when my son got a bee sting. We visit the lage zoos and aquariums in the areas we visit. Because of the limited time, we decided to check out a small place, and we can't be thankful enough. To the owners of this place, your employees rock. I highly recommend this place.

This place is awesome! My boyfriend and I did a private 2h tour and got to see and interact with dozens of animals, and also feed a good number of them treats. Our guide Nina was very knowledgeable and friendly. Even though our tour was over by 2, the staff let us hang out on the grounds and interact w the animals practically until closing. I’d highly recommend going!

This was our first outing since the pandemic hit so we treated ourselves to the private tour & it was worth every penny. Our tour guide Angela was polite and engaging she really held my sons attention. He loves visiting zoos so we go to many all over the country, this was by far his favorite zoo experience thus far. I can't stress enough that for the added cost of the private tour we had an educational experience like no other. Treat yourself, you won't regret it.

My 2 yr old grandson and I had a wonderful time at the zoo yesterday. We took the"Our first Zoo Tour". Our guide Nina was so awesome. She did everything to ensure we had a great time. She was very focused on making sure my grandson had every opportunity to engage with the animals. At 30 min it was the right amount of time and well spent money. You can see that Nina really cares about the animals which I'm sure reflects the overall view of all the staff. And she is really good with the little ones

We have been to animal adventures a few times with our 3 small children. Our kids absolutely love it. Animal Adventures is so much better than going to the zoo because of the people they have working here. Every single person who works here is so knowledgeable about all the animals and is always willing to answer questions and give you neat facts about certain animals. They also will take any of the animals out for the kids to see and pet. You can tell they genuinely care about the animals and it’s not just a zoo trying to make money. The animal shows they do are great because you can hold or pet different animals and you learn a lot about them. We love coming here and it’s well worth the 1.5 hour drive from our house. I would highly recommend visiting because by doing so your ticket purchase is helping them to be able to care for the animals and you get a much more intimate experience than seeing animals in a zoo. Everyone who works here is incredibly friendly, nice, and full of knowledge about all the creatures they have. They also have done a great job maintaining the experience with COVID going on. Everyone wore masks and the setup of the facility makes it easy for everyone to stay distanced. If your looking for something fun to do, I would highly recommend checking out Animal Adventures!

It was a great experience! Lots of animals and nice staff. The place isn’t as big as a Zoo but it sure has its enchanting. My kids were able to touch some reptiles and the performers were friendly, making the kids feel comfortable.

Zen, our animal expert, was knowledgeable and confident with the many amazing animals. We did the tour for my friends birthday. I actually learned a lot and I was impressed with the facility. Zen’s passion for the animals care and handling was impressive. Thanks!

Great place with lots of unique animals! Staff is always friendly and informative. Be sure to ask the story about Lazarus the Serval! Also enjoyed watching Eden the Bobcat and Aslan the Lynx play. This time the bunnies came right over and were very affectionate. Wonderful way to celebrate my niece's birthday.

Great animal experience. It’s much smaller than you’d expect from looking at the website, but there’s a lot to learn and see. Good way to spend an afternoon.

We had such an excellent time! We did the 90 minute private tour, and our tour guide, Chevy, was incredible!!!! She was so incredibly knowledgeable, and very personable! We got to feed African Crested Porcupines, hold an armadillo, a type of toucan and ferrets, pet a kangaroo, a boa constrictor and a skunk! I would recommend doing the 90 minute private tour, it was well worth the money. I gave it 4 stars only because I felt some of the animals enclosures were a too small.

All the animals are rescues and clearly living a happy life here. The employees are friendly, and the business is ethical. The Animal Adventure is the best adventure you can go on!
