The place was packed (a conference on the side and weekend) which made the service a bit slow. Enjoyed outdoor seating and it was spectacular. Ordered a cup of onion soup and the first bite of the charred cheese was 👌🏼 9.5/10 a medium well of wagyu New York strip 8/10 side of sautéed spinach (in the menu it indicates that it has mushroom but I got none) 6/10 and hand-cut french fries 9.5/10

Good food is not enough for Restaurant to be good. To be really good, you need a good management. All businesses, no matter the business, or the industry has hiccups at some times. When we entered Abe & Louie’s restaurant, we were very impressed by the ambience. The restaurant has the feeling of expensive private club. The table across from us got this 40 ounce tomahawk steak that looked mouthwatering delicious. We were not so fortunate with our experience. We had ordered earlier that day clam chowder soup at the restaurant next-door, Atlantic seafood company. It was the absolute best clam chowder I’ve ever tasted in my life. It was absolutely phenomena! Our waiter. Bobby explain to us that they were owned by the same company, so when we order to clam chowder soup we were expecting something similar. Before I go further let me mentioned something about our waiter Bobby. He is Boston through and through. He has the absolute best accent. We enjoyed liked hearing him talk. We think they should someone should hire him for a movie part. He just reeks Boston. Anyways, getting on with my review. Unfortunately, we were disappointed because the clam chowder we ordered had thick smoky flavored bacon in it and the soup tasted like bacon. We don’t recommend the clam chowder soup. if you want, phenomenal clam chowder, soup go next-door to the Atlantic seafood House. Anyways, we mentioned to Bobbie our waiter, about our disappointment and he sent over his manager, Kate . Kate came over and we explain to her our experience, What an amazing way she handled everything I don’t want to go into all the details, but Kate genuinely cared about service, and did everything in her power to to make us happy. She sent to our table this cake. It was to die for. There was three of us and we ate this chocolate cake with ice cream and had leftover cake to take home. My goodness, next time I’m coming in I’m ordering this cake I don’t know what it was other than it was just amazing chocolate cake with ice cream that melted in your mouth and made your brain go crazy. like I said, a good restaurant is more than good food. And with people like Kate, you elevate the restaurants reputation,. I have a business with several employees. I know firsthand people like her are hard to fine. you can’t train people to be sensitive to the needs of customers. You are are or you aren’t. Believe me. she’s got it going for her! She has emotional intelligence.

Amazing steakhouse & seafood restaurant (killer lobsters) in the heart of Back Bay, across from the Mandarin Oriental. Great food, drinks & service; a very lively & fun atmosphere!

We visited Abe & Louie's for dinner recently, and it was truly a memorable evening. From the moment we walked in, the restaurant's interior captivated us - my wife, an architect, was particularly impressed with the thoughtful design and layout. It had a wonderful ambience that set the stage for our delightful dining experience. The menu was filled with enticing options, but we finally settled on French onion soup for my wife and swordfish for me, along with creamed spinach on the side. Every dish was absolutely delicious, impressively executed with evident care. The French onion soup, in particular, was a standout, with my wife noting its striking similarity to the ones she's had in France. We rounded off our meal with a mouth-watering cheesecake - the perfect sweet note to end on. Our waiter, Evhen, was an essential part of our experience. He was ever attentive, always just a moment away when we needed him, and provided service with a level of professionalism, friendliness, and courtesy that was truly remarkable. If there were anything to critique, it would be the size of the booth we were seated at. It felt slightly cramped, which was a minor detractor from the otherwise perfect evening. In all, our visit to Abe & Louie's was a fantastic experience, and we're already looking forward to our next visit. I'd rate our experience a 4.5 out of 5 - it was a delightful blend of exquisite food, impressive service, and beautiful interiors. Highly recommended for a special night out.

Most delicious and perfectly cooked meal. The waiter was so great and I really liked the in-house hand sanitizer and had to buy one for myself. Will be back.

One of the best classic American steakhouses in Boston with high quality meat, great wine selections, and exceptional service. Unlike other modern steakhouses that feature creative appetizer selections, Abe Louie’s kept things simple with their appetizers. Nothing particularly stood out as impressive but the baked clams, escargots, and the chowder were all good starts to the meal. The real highlight of the meal came right after. The porterhouse topped with aged Vermont cheese was truly one of the best porterhouse I had in years. The tenderloin part almost melted in my mouth, and the New York strip part also had perfect lean to fat ratio. We also got the creamed spinach and sautéed mushrooms on the side, and they were fantastic complements to the steak. Highly recommend trying their porterhouse steak, but make sure to go light on the appetizers as they can be a bit overwhelming with the seasoning at times.

So, good about this place food we ordered the 50 aged steak a side of mashed potatoes and tuna tartare, everything exceptional, but the drinks. 18 bucks for a margarita that didn't taste like margarita. Ordered 3 times and until i said put lime on it. Didn't have. Agree margs are always different but if you can't do a casamigos margarita i don't trust that they can charge 18 per cocktail if you can't do a good marg. My girlfriend ordered the riesling. Good service. Really good the server was awesome and the food was again amazing. Please drinks if this place had better drinks i swear would be one of the best ones :)

We were recommended this restaurant for high quality American food. It was really good and the food was delicious. I would recommend their onion soup 🍲 as a starter. There is a good selection of dishes on offer. The price range is on the higher end averaging $40+ but the quality matches it. The staff were nice and the interior has a classic feel to it. Overall, a 5 star experience and food. I recommend you visit if you want a good steakhouse.

The meat was perfectly prepared and delicious. That‘s about it. The fries and green beans were OK. Service was friendly but somehow never available when you needed it. The prices here are really beyond the pale for a steakhouse of this size. I saw multiple parties leaving after taking one single, short, shocked look at the menu. $12 for a pint of IPA on tap. Cheapest sides start at $11. Steaks start at $60+. Are you for real? See attached menu pics. 15-20% cheaper and it would have been 4 stars, 5 with slight improvement to the sides, but as is, this feels like getting robbed.

Since Abe & Louie’s is very expensive and popular I had high expectations when I decided to dine here. Several unfortunate events occurred and I am not sure if I dine here again soon. We were seated right away outside on the beautiful deck. It is on a pretty busy street. Good spot for people watching. Even tough there were several tables clean and available we were seated next to a big group of people who added extra chairs to their table. They were so loud that my friend and I couldn’t hear each other from them. A young lady poured water to our glasses right away. The second time approximately 10 minutes later she poured more water on the table and on my friend’s dress then inside the glass and instead of apologizing she just ignored the situation and walked away. ( Summer help might needs a little more training.) The stuff (4-6 waiters) were having a long group conversation up front by the door. After 15 -20 minutes of sitting at our table without service ( except our water) we finally asked to see our waiter. They apologized and told us it was a miscommunication between the waiters whose table were we. After we got our first glass of wine we discretely asked to be seated an other table as they were many available where we can hear each other and less distracted from other guests. We got a nice and quiet table and received our fantastic dinner. We got a bread basket but unfortunately they don’t offer anything for gluten free guests. They have appetizers, salads and main dishes gluten free. The Abe &Louie’s salad was fantastic. We shared a shrimp and scallops risotto what was very delicious and a good size to share. ( I enjoyed my risotto very much until the young lady poured some water into my dish while feeling up my water glass.) It is a beautiful restaurant inside and outside. Great location. Inside you can find a very happening bar. Abe&Louie’s offer an exquisite wine list. This is a spot to find great steak and seafood dishes as well.

Best steak I’ve ever had. I would give it more stars if I could. The ambience was amazing and our waiter was the best I’ve ever had. Drinks were large and tasted wonderful. Got the Porterhouse, which was the tastiest steak I’ve ever eaten. Ever. Got half sides of Mac, asparagus, and mashed potatoes and they were incredible for the price. Would definitely come back and recommend to anyone in search for the perfect dinner.

Met up with my friend for a late brunch. The chicken and waffles immediately caught my eye as I love a good sweet and savory. I was glad they included gravy since the chicken was not breaded and fried. The chicken was still good and cooked to still have moisture. The waffles were a bacon chive, crispy and delicious. They give you a kettle of coffee, which is strong, dark and the right temperature throughout. The service was strong, maybe a little too tentative but still wonderful throughout. A little pricey though so not your casual place to stop by.

Great service, decent steak, impressive wine selection. Too much hype though, for this price the meat can be better. Overall we had nice evening, mostly because of very attentive waiters.

Well, it just doesn't get any better than this... From the moment we stepped into this oasis of culinary magnificence we were thoroughly impressed. From the dark woods style and decor to the kindness and professionalism of the wait staff, we found ourselves bathed in the comfort and luxury of a truly great steak house. Medium plus rare tomahawk steaks, risotto with scallops and giant shrimp, creamed spinach, garlic mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus and a truly decadent dessert. I've died and gone to heaven... This is truly the end of the raInbow for all of us steak house snobs, as well as one of the finer whiskey sommeliers and collections I've seen. You will be praised by your friends and family for making reservations here.

I went to dinner tonight with my husband to have a early birthday dinner. I was beyond impressed with the services and the food. Our steaks were cooked perfect and the lobster Mac n cheese was delicious . We waited about 5 minutes to be seated but it was 100 percent worth the wait. They gave us our first round of drinks on the house because we waited. My husband was really worried our dinner would be rushed because we had a late reservation but the staff made us comfortable. No one rushed us to finish dinner. What I enjoyed most was the smile on my husbands face when they brought out a complimentary desert with a candle in it for him. It was perfect because he loves chocolate. His happiness is priceless to me and we will definitely be going back to have dinner there again. I would really like to thank the staff for taking care of us, I really enjoyed and appreciated the service.

The only reason we came to this restaurant was because of its high ratings. But honestly, this restaurant doesn't deserve its fame. The 12 oz steak I ordered turned out super small. And it was just plain meat. ABSOLUTELY NO flavour AT ALL. The meat was hard to bite, almost broke a tooth trying to eat it. Took so long to cut one piece!!! We also ordered a fried potato and it was just disgusting. I had a feeling that the potato wasn't even cooked properly. And the peel that was supposed cooked and eatable was hard and just so bitter. Right after leaving this restaurant, I immediately felt sick!!! Only the bread that they gave at the beginning was good. The service was good but the food was horrible. Does not deserve its name of "steak house". I don't recommend at all!! I won't come again! Edited: But the desert I ordered was pretty good!

Headed to Abe and Louie’s for lunch while spending time in Boston. We sat just outside of the bar area at one of the tables. Bread was brought to the table (nuts in one variety, fyi) and our drinks came out quickly. We had the crab cake and the green goddess salad. We asked for no cucumber on the salad, they replaced with red pepper, but left off the avocado for some reason. Entrees were NY Strip and Filet Mignon, potatoes au gratin and asparagus. The steaks were good, but not as flavorful as I thought they would be based on the reputation of the steakhouse. The potatoes were excellent. Ended lunch with coffee. Overall, food was good.

Enjoyed a beautiful meal: Lobster Dumplings (mopped that sauce with good breads) + Pear & Goat Cheese salad to start, Filet (perfect med-rare) with broccoli + mushrooms for entree, Butterscotch Bread Pudding + Chantilly cream to send us home. I'd take every one of those bites again. No regrets.

It was my first time and this place is truly upscale dining at it's finest. First there's the New York Sirloin with fingerling potatoes, then the Sole Fish and Chips. Then I had a drink called The Last Word and I had another drink called The International.

This is my favorite steakhouse in Boston, we have eaten here a handful of times over the years and have always had a fantastic overall experience. This place is always packed mainly because the food is great. Most of all, though, I absolutely love the dark wooded decor in here. In any event, we highly recommend Abe & Louie's. It's a great spot in the heart of Boston for a special occasion meal.

We came here for the first time and were blown away by the exceptional service. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and was the highlight of our beautiful evening. I had the shrimp and scallop risotto with potatoes au gratin and sautéed spinach as sides. The risotto was delicious and the scallops were cooked to perfection. Both sides were very tasty but the potatoes needed a little salt and pepper. I loved that the sides allowed for sharing. I also had an amazing strawberry margarita with dinner. I would absolutely come again.

Everything there was absolutely wonderful. My photos aren't so great but..... we started with espresso martinis, oyster Rockefeller and oysters on the half shell, clam chowder, French onion soup and then for me a lobster casserole, my husband and steak that he said melted in his mouth. We loved it there.

We visited here to celebrate one of our friends' birthday. The place was extremely busy and noisy til the cuisines were ready but the taste took my breath away. I highly recommend the menu with Sea Bass.

Came here for a special occasion. Food was incredible, and pricey but that is expected. Can't give the full 5 stars because the service was all over the place, we had 3 different people serving us (with no heads up of shift change or anything). Made it confusing who to ask if we needed something. I would try it again. If you are looking for the best espresso martini in Boston, this is it!
