Strike
Out!
My
group
of
six
had
high
hopes
for
a
fun
New
Year's
Eve
celebration
at
Lucky
Strike,
planning
to
enjoy
the
arcade
before
heading
to
the
bowling
lanes.
However,
our
experience
left
much
to
be
desired.
Upon
arrival
at
around
6:30
PM,
we
noticed
the
arcade
wasn't
crowded,
and
one
member
of
our
group
encountered
issues
with
the
arcade
pass
machine.
A
very
helpful
employee
fixed
it,
but
we
wanted
to
wait
to
be
sure
before
using
other
machines.
Other
than
the
one
helpful
employee
I
got
the
idea
that
the
staff
was
annoyed
by
our
presence.
We
were
joking
around
about
the
bar
staff
acting
like
they
were
put
out
by
drink
orders
(yes
we
tip)
Nevertheless,
the
overall
atmosphere
was
enjoyable,
I
love
myself
an
arcade
with
drinks!
A
little
expensive,
sure
but
it
was
NYE
so
we
didn’t
care
too
much.
I
thought
maybe
I’m
imagining
the
Regina
George
type
treatment.
The
troubles
began
when
we
tried
to
order
food
through
the
QR
code,
only
to
be
told
by
the
bartender
that
it
was
new
and
not
yet
functional.
It
seemed
odd,
as
the
code
was
prominently
displayed
on
the
tables.
Also
the
way
he
said
it
when
I
said
we
were
having
issues
was
like
“duh”
how
am
I
supposed
to
know
this?
We
ordered
at
the
bar
and
the
food
was
decent.
Things
took
a
turn
for
the
worse
when,
around
7:20
pm
while
eating,
we
were
informed
that
“the
area”
close
for
a
private
party
at
8
PM.
We
planned
to
be
done
eating
by
8pm
so
didn’t
think
anything
of
it.
There
were
four
of
us
at
the
table
and
we
all
thought
he
meant
the
bar
area
was
closing.
About
15
minutes
later
while
finishing
up
our
food
we
learned
the
whole
arcade
floor
was
closing!
It
was
frustrating
not
to
have
been
informed
earlier.
We
were
abruptly
asked
to
leave
the
arcade
at
7:45
not
8pm
even
though
some
of
us
still
had
money
left
on
our
cards.
There
was
no
attempt
to
accommodate
us,
and
the
staff's
attitude
seemed
indifferent.
Then
two
of
us
walked
to
back
to
use
the
bathrooms
an
employee
stopped
us
and
asks
if
we
are
just
using
the
bathrooms
like
a
hall
monitor.
Umm
yep
we
just
spent
hundreds
of
dollars
here
can
we
pee
before
we
leave
please?
Maybe
they
didn’t
tell
us
because
they
wanted
to
squeeze
as
much
money
as
they
could
-
not
the
best
decision
as
if
we
had
been
informed
we
would
have
still
had
the
drinks,
played
games
and
then
gone
bowling
to
purchase
food
and
more
drinks.
Obviously
we
went
to
their
competition
instead
for
a
much
better
experience.
The
lack
of
communication
and
customer
service
was
evident
throughout
the
evening.
Nobody
informed
us
about
the
time
limit
in
the
arcade,
and
the
sudden
closure
left
us
feeling
unwelcome.
If
we
had
known
earlier,
we
would
have
spent
our
remaining
time
playing
games
instead
of
being
rushed
out.
Despite
the
really
nice
atmosphere,
the
overall
experience
left
us
disappointed.
Better
communication,
transparency
about
changes
in
service,
and
a
more
customer-oriented
approach
during
unexpected
situations
would
greatly
improve
the
overall
experience.
