As a concert venue this place is awesome. Cool acts, great sound, awesome bars all the way around and easy access. Here's my complaint. I went to Royal Blood with my wife and 20 year old daughter. They weren't drinking so the person gave them two HUGE "X"s on each hand and I got a bright yellow wristband since I decided to partake. Once inside I went to the bar to get a beer and a coke for my wife and daughter to split. After 15 minutes or so we were escorted for the door (rather embarrassingly) by security who accused my wife of having an alcoholic drink and splitting her drink with my daughter. We showed her the "X"s and explained to them it was a Pepsi, we even told her to drink it. She apologized and they escorted us (almost) back to our original location. This was a general admission show so we lost maybe a "row" due to this. They apologized but once they realized they were wrong they really were curt and just wanted to move on. If you think splitting of drinks is an issue then you need to serve the non-alcoholic drinks in a different cup or something because the giant doodles on our hands aren't cutting it obviously. How about going after all the vaping instead since you have all the damn signs about it everywhere.

Great music venue! They consistently have artists playing. There is a floor option as well as seating options (like at a concert hall) for those who don’t like to stand all night. This is great considering at a lot of clubs trying to get seating means that you’d have to get a table, which is often thousands of dollars. Sound quality is great. I went to see Said the Sky and he was amazing!! Arrived about 45min or so before the official start time and got to see the opening acts which were good as well (plus no wait time to get into the venue). Cocktails from the bar were not good at all. I doubt they put any alcohol if any. Don’t plan on buying any drinks if you come here!

The Boston House of Blues is one of my favorite concert venues ever! I've been here twice now, once on the floor and once in the mezzanine. My first time there was seeing Sean Paul and it was amazing. And now I was there to see Bebe Rexha and absolutely loved it. House of Blues is always a great experience!

Awesome venue, the staff were really nice. I wouldn't want to stand on the floor for an entire concert but I was in the stadium level seating which was nice and comfortable. For some reason it took a long time to get inside, I got in line when the doors were supposed to open, and it took about two hours for everyone to get inside, so the concert was delayed about an hour. No way of knowing if this was anyone's fault in particular or if something unexpected happened. They did have people checking vaccination cards while we were in line outside, so I don't think it was that. They used a bracelet system for vacc verification (and I think alcohol purchasing but I didn't buy any alcoholic drinks so I'm not sure). In any case, the staff stayed calm and upbeat, and the fans were pretty chill waiting as well.

One of the best venues I've been to. Gotta show proof of a negative covid test or vaccine if anyone's wondering how covid times work.

Not bad but not great. They consistently have good artists playing here (although noticing that Big Night Live and MGM Music Hall have been taking over). I’ve seen several shows here and it’s always been the same experience. Staff are not the most friendly but they’re not blatantly rude either. Drinks can be expensive if you’re getting something other than a beer. Lines getting in are usually pretty fast and organized but may take a minute or two because the venue is popular. I’ve gotten floor tickets and a seat before and floor is definitely the best. If you get seats it can be hard to see and it’s super difficult to find a spot elsewhere. Overall an average live music venue nothing really special about it.

Such a cool venue. Staff is incredibly friendly and there isn't a bad seat in the house. Too many people smoking for my liking, especially in an indoor venue, and it can feel a little tight at times. But overall we felt safe and had a great time. I'd definitely come back for a show.

I attended the Alan Walker concert on Nov 15 at the HoB and loved everything about it. The venue was well kept up, the staff made sure everything was in order and were very friendly and security did an incredible job! I’d definitely go back for another event!!

A fantastic place to see a show! This smaller sized theater is for 1800 people. Great sound, very clean, super staff and easy check in process. Parking nearby and plenty of nightlife surrounding the club. Can get a bit busy on Yawkey Way when the Sox are in town, so plan accordingly. I go to HofB several times a years.

An eclectic venue with so much to go around. A lot of room to get up close if you want to be immersed in the sound, and enough space if you want to be careful about the volume. It being in the heart of Fenway grants it so many pregame options for food, drink, and places to schmooze before a show. Always a great time!

Came from upstate NY to see Oliver Tree with a local friend. For those coming in that don't like to drive in the city, I parked at Alewife, took the T to the Green Line, then got off at Kenmore. Venue was really neat! Had a lot of character. Staff were very quick to get wristbands to everyone in line, which I appreciated a lot because it was FREEZING outside! Definitely would consider coming back. But won't be getting standing room next time. Not enough room for how many people they let in.

I love the House of Blues. I have been there for a Bat Mitzvah and a concert, and both experiences have been incredible. It is a small venue, but the inside is decorated very nicely and it is one of my favorite spots for concerts. Even though the crowd is smaller, the crowd is always just as energetic and excited, and it makes the event a little more personal. It is also in a really cool location right next to Fenway Park.

Unfortunately it only opens when there are ball games at Fenway Park. The area it is in is very shady also.

Nice music venue that gets crowded but is awesome! My friends and I came to watch Bebe Rexha perform and it was a fun time! We were able to get drinks at the bar - they have limited alcohol choices but it’s still a vibe!

Our first time to the House of Blues and it did not disappoint!!! From the time we walked up to the venue, we were invited into the VIP Room which is adjoined to the HOB. It was hot out so we were happy to go inside, get checked in, taken to the Lounge where we cooled off and had a nice drink from the bar. We met nice people inside that were excited to see Reggae Legend, Burning Spear. The staff happily escorted us to our proper seating. I'm physically disabled so staff took me and my husband up in the elevator to our seats for the handicapped. The Venue Security was so nice to us and helped us with anything we needed. We flew in from Atlanta for this concert and it was an excellent experience. The hospitality of the staff went above and beyond to make our night extra special. The drinks were great, restrooms were old but clean and the oviance of the HOB was the best we've had. Thank you so much for an all around fantastic night and experience. I highly recommend this place and look forward to going there again in the future.

Phenomenal experience at HOB. Kes the Band was amazing. We’ve been to a few events here and they know how to coordinate! Easy entry, clean bathrooms, crowd control. Bar service needs to be better. There’s only one side where the service is fast 🤷🏾‍♀️😂 shots are hefty. Worth the money for drinks 🍹 ❤️

The vibes are always great here. Staff is friendly and helpful. Food in the Foundation room is expensive but delicious. The facility is as clean as it can be with a ton of drunk people partying. Anywhere you are, standing or sitting, is a good spot.

It's one of the best venues I've been to. Water is free if you ask for it in a cup and chips/doritos are only $2 Prices are good, and there are great views of the stage. Overall, it is definitely one of best venues ive been and i highly recommend seeing a show here sometime

Music sounds good! The fire exit is OK. I watched Akon live with a bunch of friends. They made us wait in line for an hour in this November cold. Security measure is perfect. One drunken lady was fired off.

Very good sound. There are bars upstairs and on the first floor, which avoids the audience to move around too much during the concert. The capacity of the theater is quite impressive, but the chairs are not quite comfortable. They are small and I can imagine a bigger person feeling that they have little back support.

Saw Owl City 9/17/23! Was a great concert!! The venue was good. Wish I could of see the opener better, I was in the front on the floor but all our views of the opener were affected by stuff on the stage. Owl City however was great! I had a great view from the front and it was a super fun concert. Only thing I will say is make sure to look for parking BEFORE going!

This was my first time for a show at the house of blues. I saw Sunny Day real estate. I had seats on the third floor balcony. No I was on the third floor it did not seem like it took away from the show whatsoever they were still clear as day and the music was fantastic. The sound in that building is great. There wasn’t any weird echoes or anything off putting about it. The only weird thing, which that I understand why they do it, is that if you want to get merch you have to be escorted into the downstairs. So just be conscious of that fact when you go. The other awesome thing as you can get food before the show so that you just go from the food to your show. Just remember to see if there is a Red Sox game playing because if there is the closest parking to you will cost you $50 or $55 depending on whether or not you can get into the parking lot the house of blues recommends. We were able to get into that lot so we had to park to the closest one.

Love seeing Concerts at the house of blues. Great venue and they usually do a good job with controlling everything. The wait times outside can be brutal during the winter though. FYI, if you don’t want to stand in the cold, you should check out the foundation room. Huge game changer.

Been coming to the house of blues Boston for years. Never had a bad experience. Security is mostly friendly and quick getting through. Huge clean bathrooms and a million bars. Parking can be rough if not reserved ahead of time. Covid restrictions are done with - cards/tests/masks.

Dope venue per usual, every seat is a good seat. Although I have to say due to the city's ordinance you can't re enter. Which blows for us reefer heads. And cigarette smokers . No pun int

Surfaces Concert was Amazing. The staff was pleasant. Only down side was how crowded it was in the standing room we paid for; and had to stand in a different section to be somewhat comfortable.

  • 5/5 Matthew V. 2 years ago on Google
Plenty of space and well maintained. They took Covid restrictions seriously and the security was friendly. Saw my favorite band Angels and Airwaves there recently. I will say that parking is horrendous esp when there’s a Red Sox game. Try to get there hours before. Otherwise you’ll be parking 10-20+ minutes away (walking distance).

Omgoodness what a great place! Definitely needs to be on a "must do" list for the area! Staff was great, so glad we stopped in!

Small venue with great views all around. There are two bars which means minimal wait for drinks all night! One of my favorite places to catch a show.

Just saw Jack Harlow. Show was great security sucked. People standing on boxes etc all night on the floor. Also had people on the mezzanine above pouring whole bottles of truly down on us below.

  • 4/5 Maria C. 2 years ago on Google
Great spot for live shows. We had good views of the stage and it wasn't too crowded. I do wish they made people show proof of vaccination though, it would feel a lot safer going there. Also, you'll have to pay to park - make sure its a legit lot - we got towed from some shady small lot by a bank nearby.
