Apparently you must be American to buy a drink. French passport, driving license and ID weren’t allowed. Thankfully we spent an incredible night at Emett’s pub. Please avoid this pub and save Ukraine

Nice little bar..stopped off for a few drinks. Did not have any food but it did look nice what other people were having.

Upon arriving, we were promptly greeted by Dave the doorman. He was jovial and welcoming. Besides this, service was very much absent. No one brought menus and we very much had to serve ourselves. After waiting around 10 minutes, we ended up ordering our meals at the bar. The food came but our chicken was missing the sauce and no one came by to check on us or bring any water, napkins etc. Dave set a great vibe with upbeat music. He really made our experience. Otherwise, the food is what you expect at a pub.

Scotty at the bar took great care of us. Clam chowder and lobster roll were really good. Couple of glasses of wine and we left happy campers.

They discriminate people from outside the US! We were 5 Spanish friends (girls) we are studying in Boston and we showed our passports to show we are over 21 in order to get in. The doorman said that they do not take passports. We replied: what if we are international? Can we show our ID’s? We have a lot of different documents that show that our identity is real (credit cards, university’s ID, passport, ID…) And he said no, if it is not an American ID you can not get in How is it our fault to not have an American ID? We had plenty of documents and plenty of proof they were real That is discrimination

Lively place on a Saturday which fills up with younger crowd as the older daytime crowd fades out. Dave the doorman knows all the songs and isn't afraid to show you. Lobster roll, haddock bites and clam chowder were all good and served quickly. Barmaid Adrian was attentive and on point

Alicia by far is THE BEST Bartender in Boston!! She’s the reason we’re regulars here. The service is always top notch. Her demeanor is low key especially when the place is packed. The drinks are always on point. Not many bartenders in the city can keep cool when there’s multiple people demanding orders. The food is great! Never had a bad meal here. The atmosphere is second to none. A good mix of locals and tourists. Never a shortage of laughs. I highly recommend Hub Pub and be sure to ask for Alicia for the best service!!

Fun place for a dive bar. Good drinks and lively music. The highlight of our evening was Dave the doorman/entertainer. He gets everyone to sing along and have a good time and he's is a genuinely funny guy.

Great food, great atmosphere. Enjoyed ourselves immensely. Unfortunately my husband is an Islander AND Yankee fan. Please don't hate me for his transgressions. I wouldn't let him cheer during the Bruins v. Islanders game.

Place was kinda dead at first, but then quickly filled up by groups of young ladies wearing almost the exact same outfits from Zara which was hilarious to me. fair prices and friendly staff.

Best pub in Boston. Sam Adam's Boston lager on tap so 👍. The 2 ladies serving us on both nights we went were absolute pros. They were so busy but always friendly and chatty. Friendly crowd. Jamie the door man singing and getting the whole pub going just added to the atmosphere too. Food was Ok but this place was all about great drinks and service

Went here for beer and bar games at around 9pm on a Friday. Both pool tables ($20 per hour) were unoccupied as was the whole of 2nd floor. Skee ball machines were broken which was a bummer. By the time we were done after 1.5 hours, the place got full with many people waiting for the pool tables. Go early if you want to get a game in. The bartender was friendly and even let us try a few beers before making the decision. Didn't try any food, so cannot comment on that. Will definitely return to have a pocket friendly yet good time.

This pub had an amazing atmosphere with great music and friendly staff, came during a rush and as taken care of in a appropriate time. I had a nice cold beer with my food. The order also did not take to long to come out. The food quality was okay, definitely could use more seasoning. However, I also have only tried the chicken sandwich. They had specials on the board of the slider choices which seemed good. I would definitely stop by for a cold beer and food.

Nice pub on a back street in downtown crossing. Good selection of food along with daily specials. Nice selection of beers and good amount of seating on two levels. Lots of TVs and a jukebox. My wife had a lobster roll that was excellent for the below average price. My son and I got the sliders which we both enjoyed.

Incredibly friendly vibe and very welcoming staff. It's a dive without being super clique-y. The burger melt is FANTASTIC, and their draft beer selection is great. Great portion sizes

Love this bar! Great gem in the middle of downtown! Hasn't been super crowded and the food was decent for a bar. The bartender Billy is awesome!!! Still the best "hole in the wall" bar we have found so far in Boston!!

I came here on a business trip so I can't speak to more than a few days but the young lady who was behind the bar was very kind. Drinks were reasonable in price and strength. I like how many bars there are in this town and this is a very laid back bar.

This place was packed for the time and day we visited and struggled to get a seat. Despite this, service was quick and staff were chatty. Large beer selection but definitely not the same as British pubs! We enjoyed our time here, though, and the free shots of whiskey helped too!

Glad to see that the old "Friar Tucks" is still alive and well. This once was the main hangout for the PanAm crew members laying over at the Parker House. Lots of good memories there.

Greatest bar in Boston for authentic dive bar experience. The bouncer is a legend and well serenade you and get the whole bar belting out anthems. Pool and Skiball upstairs, great murals, decor and atmosphere. We lost the Beacon Hill Pub. May we never lose the Hub Pub!

Was there earlier last week with friends. Hugo was our bartended & he was good. Unfortunately I left my Credit card there but called 3 times during the week & spoke with different staff. Each one of them confirmed they had it so I stopped by this past Saturday afternoon. The female bartender started assisting but couldn't find it. Then the Male Bartender told her to take care of the other customers first because I can wait. Just because I wasnt buying then, am I not a customer anymore? 🤔 He could've been a Manager. Then he told me to come back later on when Hugo was there. 🤦‍♂️. Needless to say I canceled my card & now have to wait for the new card to arrive. However, I expected a better response esp if he was a Manager.

Haha wow. Where do I begin? This bar is exactly what you think it is… a terrible establishment with even worse service. Specifically, the woman behind the bar this week (the only woman working btw) made it clear that this establishment is trash. So many questionable things happened..is this a dr*g front running as a bar?????

Walked in with a group of 5 people (most of us in our 60s...not exactly a roudy bunch) and waited several minutes for someone to greet us. No big deal. The girl who finally did greet us was immediately short with us. I had a bag of food that I had been carrying around and dared to pull something out of it to take a bite while I waited for the rest of my party to order. She angrily told me I couldn't eat that in here, insisted it was insulting for me to do so, and told me that she "didn't need my attitude" when I told her I didn't think it was particularly insulting, especially since we had all clearly come into The Hub to order food and drinks. We got up and left. I hope whatever issues she has are being worked on. She clearly isn't a joyful person and her misplaced feelings of being personally attacked by my taking a bite of outside food cost her what would likely have been a few hundred dollars in sales and a pretty hefty tip.
