Decent restaurant if you’re in the area. Service was a bit slow but it was worth the wait. Very cool atmosphere, love the building and the overall vibe of the restaurant. If you’re in government center, this is probably a nice place to visit

Sorry I didn't like the drinks here .. didn't order food so I cant say if it's good for that or not . But the drinks had no taste at all. When you see them using Tropicana orange juice and red Cherries for pastries .. well that tells you a lot of how good the drink will be ... Service was good .and the place has that Spooky old vibe which is cool. Drinks 2/5 Service 4/5 Place 4/5 Price 3/5

Smells like a boys locker room, service is mediocre at best. If you aren't a regular, they aren't interested in your business. I would go down the street to the Emmett's if I were you, although the beer selection here is better.

I can't believe it took me so long to find this place, but I'm glad I did. It doesn't get any better than this...cozy old pub with a friendly staff and great food and drinks. The sliders were cooked perfectly and were amazing with thick pieces of juicy beef, and the Manhattan I had with it was great. Oh, and generous pours too! But the food and drinks were just the icing on the cake...the main draw for me was the atmosphere. It's just a nice place to warm up after a cold night out.

We love to find little spots off the tourist path and this was a great find. Not busy. Indoor and outdoor eating. The food was fantastic. Highly recommend!

We went inside to charge my phone and just a beer. But is one of those cozy places that become a surprise. The servers, the atmosphere, the people at the bar sharing the history and stories about the place was an experience. Then we look at the menu and found just an appetizer perfect for another beer, 4 little hamburger and a surprise, a tower of onion rings!

Great old style pub with service and vibe to match. Grilled chicken sandwich with smashed potatoes were excellent. The chowder was full of flavor, though light on the clams and potatoes. I'd definitely revisit this location next time I'm in Boston.

Close to walking tour stop, the State Capitol, and the park. Excellent options and nice drink selection on draft. Very cool atmosphere inside.

I stopped by late on a Monday and it was very quiet / borderline dead. Prices seemed a little higher too compared to other places. Though the bartender was very good.

It was not busy when I went (late afternoon). I was able to choose my own seat and chose the dining area up the steps. Great ambiance- dark woods, copper hood over the fireplace. Ordered drinks, onion rings (crisp and well-seasoned), and buffalo tenders (an app but more than enough for a meal). The sauce had some heat but not too bad. The chicken was moist, lightly breaded, and meaty. Great service. There was a full service bar and outdoor seating too. Would go there again.

Amazing experience! Really love the historic feel of the place! The waitress who was serving us was phenomenal! The food and drinks got to us surprisingly quick! Overall great place, will recommend!

I was in Boston for a business trip and couldn’t decide on what to have for dinner. I headed downtown and started walking around to see if I could find something. I see this really nice building and decide to go inside and ask to see their menu. I had a delicious salad with a side of mash potato. This was late at night so I was the only person eating that late, most people were having a drink at the bar. Regardless, it was a nice little restaurant and the food was great.

Great little local pub in Beacon hill near Boston common park. The spicy chicken quesadilla was awesome and the servers were very nice and attentive. Props to the owner for hiring Rachel and Marina!

Nice chill bar with seating for food. The ceilings are somewhat low. It gets crowded with people stopping briefly to break up the freedom trail.

Love this place! We found 21st while looking for bars in close proximity to Boston Common and The Freedom Trail, and we lucked out! This cool little bar has so much history in Boston, and is a local haunt for the State House employees. The food is fantastic, most notably the sliders, 21st burger and pizza. Really nice craft beer selection, and the service was awesome. If you come, try and snag a bar seat and meet some of the regulars, they are quite an interesting bunch! We’ll be back!

Was there around 5pm on a Thursday after work. First impression, great place. It filled up quickly and became so loud that I couldn't hear my colleagues. I ordered nachos for the table, which were enjoyed by all, which was great, but I couldn't eat them because they fry the chips in the same oil as non-gluten-free foods. I ordered a Manhattan on the rocks but received a red drink in a Martini glass. I asked the bartender why it was red, thinking she'd accidentally given me a Cosmopolitan, but she said she always pours cherry juice into Manhattans. Um, no. I told her how to make a traditional Manhattan, and she did her best, which I appreciated, even though they didn't have dark cherries. Nice place for a quick drink with friends, but not the place to go if you are a foodie or Celiac or looking for well-crafted cocktails.

The food is delicious the drinks are cold and both the inside and outside have fantastic atmosphere. The staff are super friendly and very accommodating, my waitress was very kind, friendly, and extremely attentive despite how packed the place got and kept a smile on her face. She won me over just by per severing through it all. Wish I got her name to properly thank her so here's hoping this reaches her ear. 5/5

Might be the best onion rings I've ever had. Nice crisp breading and perfectly salted. Most places will have too soft and doughy breading. Nachos met the assignment too, and were a very generous portion given it's under the "small plates" section of the menu. Looked to be understaffed through as the one server was frantically running around between inside and outside tables on the busy night. She did a great job though.

The bar has a nice atmosphere. However the loaded nachos are terrible, we order it with guacamole, it showed up as a green paste that tasted like cummins only. The flavor was so overpowering, that we only had a couple of bites. We order other things, and in conclusion, food is meh

I first visited 21st Amendment in 2011. I ordered the fish and chips, they were by far the best I'd had. For the last ten years they have been the standard by which I compared other. 2 December 2021 ordered them again and did not disappoint. They are the bar by which I measure fish and chips. Nachos, clam chowder and cheesesteak spring rolls were also amazing. Servers were very attentive. Highly recommend this place.

Drink price are fair, the place has a nice ambience. Plus Nick is THE MAN if you are sitting at the bar. He is very attentive, will make anything you can think of. He even came out and flagged us down on the street after we had left as we’d forgotten our umbrellas. Would definitely go back if I return to the area.

The bar only had 2 staff to manage the bar and the tables, and they struggled mightely to provide service, but they did a good job. Food was adequate for bar food. I must say they did a great job with a fryer : chicken nuggets, fries, onion rings. . . Awesome!

Awesome bar with great employees and food! The owner was behind the bar serving drinks and he was great to talk to! We got the nachos and sliders and both were amazing! Definitely going back next time we’re in the area

Found this great little spot because I was tired from walking up the Bowdoin St. hill and couldn’t have enjoyed it more! The nachos were amazing and the bartender was great. I would highly recommend stopping in here for some refreshments before walking through Boston Commons !

What a nice pub! They accommodated our short time frame but didn't skimp on the quality! Love to go back when we have more time to really enjoy a meal.

A fine place. No complaints but nothing special. Clientele was loud and Boston-y, most an after work crowd. Wouldn't have gone if it wasn't so close, but gets the job done.

This was my first time visiting Boston and I’m so happy I discovered this place! I’d be a regular if I lived here! The bar is amazing, the architecture is beautiful, the staff are attentive and friendly, the drinks are on point, the other customers are fun, they play the games on tv… I could go on and on but I feel like this gem of a spot made my Boston experience even more amazing!

Love 21st amendment. When you want to "just go to a bar" this place does it the best. Good food, good beer, always friendly staff and all at reasonable prices (especially for this area of Boston)

If you're looking for an immersive, local experience, look no further than 21st Amendment. Above all, the fantastic, friendly people that make up this bar's patrons are what we will always remember and love. The bar itself gives you all the desired atmosphere and authenticity of a local pub, the owner is available and very personable and the people present, again, are a welcoming and non-judgmental crowd. The drinks were fantastic and it is in a great location, very walkable from the main stream areas of the city. Our visit to this bar was the highlight of our trip. Thank you for showing us what Boston's all about.
