If
you
long
for
the
way
that
bars
"used
to
be,"
or
how
they're
portrayed
in
classic
films
and
novels,
make
your
way
down
to
The
Hawthorne.
The
first
thing
that
will
greet
you
is
the
ambiance,
the
well-leveled
music,
plush
and
comfortable
chairs,
chatter
from
other
patrons.
This
is
what
a
drinking
establishment
should
feel
like.
Not
cacophonous,
dim,
or
faux-luxe'd
with
a
package
deal
from
Wayfair.
Make
your
way
to
the
bar,
and
have
a
seat.
Boasting
a
bible-thick
list
of
wines,
spirits,
and
aperitifs,
along
with
plenty
of
quality
cider
and
beer
offerings,
the
Hawthorne
truly
has
something
for
everyone.
The
prices
are
more
than
fair
and
don't
suffer
from
the
inflation
that
other
enthusiast
oriented
establishments
do.
Where
this
bar
really
shines,
though,
is
the
service
from
the
bartenders,
who
take
their
craft
extremely
seriously.
Attentive,
inventive,
and
creative,
they
make
amazing
cocktails
that
transcend
the
classic
roots
on
which
they're
based
and
climb
into
an
ethereal
level
that
is
not
often
found.
If
you're
hungry,
you'll
find
the
food
offerings
more
than
adequate.
Presentation
is
fantastic
and
the
portions
are
well-suited
to
sharing,
or
chowing
down
alone
to
quell
an
appetite
and
stay
for
another
glass
of
rare
spirits.
Again,
prices
are
very
fair
and
do
not
carry
the
sticker
shock
that
similar
establishments
often
leave
you
with.
