We visited this Restaurant after we went to another Steakhouse the night before. Even though this restaurant had lower ratings. This one was best in all the categories. Excellent service, better steak, sides were very good. Excellent wine selection. Appetizers were also very good.

Visiting Boston was a real treat. Visiting this Smith and Wollensky by the seaport was an even better treat since I've dined in the NYC often. The menu was notably different which was a nice surprise. But the staples were there so that was familiar thankfully. It was fun exploring new side dishes and seeing the well spaced out dining room. Beautiful decor and dimmed lightning created a nice ambiance. We were here celebrating my friend's 50th so the restaurant was super generous with the complimentary slice of chocolate cake. That cake was more than enough for three and it was chocolate decadence indeed. I don't normally have an urge for dessert after a full meal of delicious steak but it was so satisfying and sweet. Our waiter was a veteran of the place, had been working over 9+ years. He was so nice and welcoming. Appreciated his humor and thoughtful conversation. Must try: bone in rib eye. Skip the seafood tower for two.

100 stars if that was an option. Julian was fantastic, the food was out of this world amazing! Filet melted in your mouth kind of food. Everyone was so nice too. We were celebrating our wedding ceremony. Highly recommend. We'll be back for sure.

I really do like this place, and come on a fairly regular basis. The one thing that is putting me off recently is that the service is never polished - very informal and almost brash at times. Compared to the many other steak houses in the area, I genuinely hope they step up that side of their game so it can be a 5 star outing all around.

Great place, great food, great service. We sat at the bar all afternoon and loved the place. Expensive but good.

Randomly decided to have lunch here with my wife after Lawn on D. The outdoor seating was fantastic, we were able to listen to live performances at the mini park right in front of us. Drinks were sub par, but the food was pretty delicious. I had a wagyu flat iron and my wife had the burger, both were cooked wonderfully. Typically at a steakhouse I ask for medium rare and always get medium but this place got it just right. Will definitely return, service might have just been off that day or because we were essentially the only table occupied outside at the time. Nevertheless I certainly recommend this location, no prime rib which is what I’ve had at another location before but didn’t disappoint. Make sure you are willing to spend 200+ before going for two people.

We went to smith and Wollensky first time in new year Eve and we have fined in almost all the restaurants in Boston so not sure how we missed dining in Smith and Wollensky before . I can just say best food, beautiful ambience and friendly staff . I am vegan and on busy new year eve night chef was able to prepare one of the best vegan meal for me . And my spouse just had one of the best steak. And they do have great choices for drinks . Sarah was our server on that night and she just went above and beyond and made our evening more beautiful . Thank you Sarah and Team for everything and we both can’t wait to come back again. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in Boston !

Excellent food and ambience. I went there once for lunch with coworkers when I had seared tuna. It was the best tasting tuna i had. Then i went for dinner again for my anniversary and ordered salmon. The fish was good but i think the sides it come with can be made better. Waxy beans were good but wasnt a fan of morels. Angry shrimps were really good. Hubby ordered the signature filet mignon. He said it was good but not the best he's had. There was a soccer game going on on sunday and some of the girls were too loud clapping. I'd go back again to give it another try during lunch.

Had a great time here. It seemed like many people come here after work or for company outings as I saw a lot of men in suits. The food was delicious. We had the porterhouse steak for 2, the salmon, crispy Yukon potatoes, and the cauliflower. Initially the steak was a little more rare than we liked but they quickly fixed that for us and the chef personally came over to ensure it was cooked to our liking! The potatoes were super crispy on the outside and delicious. The salmon was also juicy. The only thing I wasn't too big of a fan of was the cauliflower - the sauce on it took away from it. But overall loved this place! Will definitely come back

The best birthday dinner I've had was here. This restaurant has the best steaks and service in the Boston area. It was a little expensive but well worth it!!

I went to Smith & Wollensky with my friends. We had an amazing experience. The steak was fantastic. Breads were very tasty. We probably ask for four rounds of bread! Their salad and side dishes were also very tasty. I will absolutely revisit!

Had an excellent Mother's Day dinner here. I had ordered the swinging tomahawk steak with the beef fat potatoes. They carve it tableside for you. The waiter also brought out the blow torch (I like steak well done) to finish it off. You can also dine outside with a view of the harbor.

we experienced scallops, tuna tartare and NY wagyu here. I usually have tuna tartare as a starter in wherever, and here was specially served with rice not chips. Everything was great but overall were overpriced.

I placed an order to go. I ordered a crab cake and ceasar salad with pan seared salmon. The crab cake we delicious. For $16, the ceasar salad could have been better and more robust. There was very few lettuce and 4 soft croutons. They did add a piece of crispy Parmesan which wasn’t bad but I expected better. The salmon was ok, could have used more flavor & maybe 3 min less on the stove

I ate at the bar. Decent service here. It could have been quicker though. It wasn’t busy too. Sea bass was amazing. The bread was amazing too!

Smith & Wollensky is a beautiful steakhouse located in the seaport area of Boston. I've eaten many times at the original location in New York. This was my first visit to the Boston location, and the steak salad, as usual, didn't disappoint!

We had an amazing dinner celebrating two anniversaries. Maegan, our server, was phenomenal, as was the rest of the staff. The wagyu tableside tomahawk was cooked to perfection and all of the sides and desserts were delicious! We had the shrimp, and ribs to start, fries (plain and truffle), corn, pea pods and caesar salad to go with it all. For dessert we had the chocolate cake, cheesecake, and coconut cake (my favorite!) Definitely returning!

This was my 10 oz filet tonight. I wanted to order my steak medium well, but our waitress persuaded me otherwise to go with the medium (more pink, yet more flavor). Pictured below is the steak I received. When asking our waitress if this was a “Medium” steak, she agreed and told me it was cooked correctly. I am extremely disappointed with my visit and service, lying to me that this is medium. To me and others, this looks rare.

My boyfriend Jon and I ate here Sunday night. Top notch steakhouse, we had the swinging wagyu tomahawk! What a delicious cut of steak! Our waiter Z went above and beyond to make our experience bare-none. Can’t wait to go back.

Nice fine dining steakhouse restaurant, but the swinging tomahawk steak was overrated. There are better and less expensive cuts available. However, the beef-fat-covered potatoes were fantastic. The house salad was also a good choice. Lastly, the service was great paired with the classy atmosphere of the restaurant.

Outstanding food and great service! I’ve been here many times for lunch and dinner with my family and it’s always excellent. Apologies for the picture of the salad and bread—I wanted to show some pictures of them, but forget to take a picture before we started eating—that’s just how delicious everything is! Today, I tried the 45th anniversary burger and was extremely happy with it. Definitely a top 10 burger. Their other burger is also really good. I also got a wedge salad and for dessert, the warm chocolate chip skillet cookie. I very much enjoyed both! Other good things to try here are their steaks (I like the Gorgonzola one) and their fish (the tuna is really good).

Absolutely amazing at so many levels. Drinks: absolutely mixed to perfection. No cheap ingredients and you can tell they cater to quality. They gave good quantity too. Food: came in quick, hot, and absolutely delicious. We had the baked truffle Mac and cheese, perfectly cooked potatoes, and a 28 oz steak. Everything was delicious, plus a giant chocolate cake that they gave us. Service: our servers name was Adam and was astounding. He was quick thinker, funny, not imposing, and constantly passed by to check up on us. He even brought me and my date an extra table just for our steak. Atmosphere: great vibe, fun atmosphere, great decor. Overall: I am coming back for sure. I've been to other high end steak restaurants and if you weren't ordering over 1k in service they don't give a dam about you. Not here you can be a big baller or have a check for a few hundred and expect the samething.

Steaks were amazing! The apps we got, bone marrow with scallops and burata were really underwhelming and not worth the price. Truffle mac and cheese was pretty good! Drinks were also not that great. Did a birthday celebration for my wife and they gave us a coconut cake which we are not a fan of but honestly this was fantastic! Would go back just for the steaks and service!

The server was attentive and professional. The food was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. Servings were as described and appropriate for the level of quality. Our server went above and beyond as he overheard that we were celebrating a birthday and he brought a huge piece of chocolate cake, enough to share and take some home. This was done without promping or charge. A wonderful experience overall.

Superb restaurant! My bf and I had the best steak of our lives. Highly recommend for those who have something to celebrate (or maybe for just great dinner). Their wine selection is fantastic as well. Oh, not to mention the quality of service, of course.
