I would walk in freezing weather any day to come eat this amazing food. The service was great and one of the owners came out to chat and see how we liked everything. Come for the pasta and stay late for the espresso martinis. Smallest portions available but we got all full sized. I’d recommend this place for a girls night, fun bumble date, or to bring my second generation Italian family here.

Italian food made with quality ingredients. Recently took a visit with a friend to enjoy some authentic Italian dishes. The place had two floors, and the second floor had nice window seats overlooking the Hanover street. They were unfortunately all occupied by the time we got there, so we were seated at a corner table. Nevertheless, our server promptly took care of all our needs throughout the meal. We started off with calamari and some drinks. The fried jalapeños on the side was a nice touch, and the breading on the outside was just okay. However, the real highlight was the meltingly tender calamari on the inside which was truly impressive. Among the two pasta dishes we tried, lasagna was our favorite. The black truffle ricotta gnocchi had a nice chewy texture, but the truffle notes were undistinctive. On the other hand, the bolognese lasagna was one of the best I had in Boston, and I really enjoyed the meaty flavor inside. For the house special veal chops, we opted for the one with parmesan on top, and it certainly did not disappoint. It not only came in huge portions, but also with a complimentary beef ragu fettuccine which went nicely with the cheesy and tender veal chops. Overall, Tresca was undoubtedly one of the top spots to enjoy traditional Italian dishes in the North End. Highly recommend getting their calamari and the house special lasagna.

Tresca was good! It was easy to book online through Open Table. It is nestled into the North End of Boston, but it wasn’t the most authentic Italian food we’ve ever had. Everything was delicious, but I think next time we will dig a little deeper for a smaller, authentic hole in the wall kind of place. There is no parking, the service was good and attentive, a little pricy for what you got! Would generally recommend this place!

Rushed and overpriced for the quality of food and the experience. Tables too close together. It was either a table right next to your neighbor or an uncomfortable high table and we had reservations. I really felt like they were just moving in as many people as possible to quickly take our money. $8 for four, nasty, small pieces of bread (more like one normal piece of bread cut into four tiny pieces). Food lacked flavor and hardly had any sauce. Food tasted premade, dry and old like it had been sitting for awhile. So glad we went somewhere else for desert. I really expected it to be really good based on these ratings. The ambience and the culture felt like a sad chain restaurant and the food was not much better. Not romantic as described by others. It was really hot people had to ask them to drop the temperature. We heard because their table was so close to ours. I would go anywhere else in the North End over this place. You can see how close the table next to us was in the picture. They should know how to manage a restaurant without customers telling them how to improve as they mention in their replies.

Tresca North End - gluten free options-Boston Great location on the North End. I was a little concerned because of my gluten allergy. It’s not always easy to eat safely gluten free in an Italian restaurant. Unfortunately they only offer regular bread with the oil. I wish they would offer a gluten free option as well. Rich the co-owner and chef was nice to check in with me about the gluten free options. They can make most of their food on the menu with modifications and with gluten free pasta. I was so excited that I can have a real Italian dinner. I had a Caesar salad and a seafood dish. My dinner was heavenly . I highly recommend you to try this restaurant. I can’t wait to come back again.

What great Italian dinner experience! The ambience was perfect. We had a dinner table all to ourselves, our waitress named Amanda was very helpful. She went over and beyond to service our needs. My wife had the vegan ravioli and I had the baked Parmesan with angel hair spaghetti. As we are finishing up dinner, the chef/owner came up and asked us how everything was, which made the experience even better! I would say the dishes are large enough to where you could split if needed to. Thanks again Rich and Amanda!

Delicious pasta + great ambiance. The carbonara, bolognese, and seafood ravioli were good. Plenty of seating in an intimate two story layout. They have a private table for 2 outside on the balcony too, you can call to reserve that one for a special occasion. The chef stopped by to check in, which was a nice touch.

We celebrated a friend from out of Town for his 60th Birthday. The Chef came and greeted us and talked about each menu item we were ordering. He then checked back to make sure we were all happy with our meals. Each one was amazing!! By Far the best meal and overall experience I’ve had in the North End!

Taken care of like we are family! The meatballs are the the best in the north end! Make sure if you’re there during the fall you get the risotto stuffed pumpkin!!! The veal chop is my go to!! Chef Rich is amazing!

There are a couple reasons this place isn't getting 5 stars. 1- I put that it was mine and my husband's anniversary dinner and his birthday on the reservation. Now, I'm not asking for any free dessert or drinks or anything but I'm used to at least the hostess and server just saying happy anniversary & happy birthday. It's an acknowledgement I enjoy and shows the attention to detail the restaurant and service brings to the table. 2- One of the specials was lasagna and the waiter very much recommended it. My husband specifically asked about the lasagna when it was recommended to us if it was American lasagna or Italy lasagna and then went on the explain the difference. American, has ricotta and meat and other cheeses and are only a few layers. Italy lasagna is a million thin layers of noodles and a bechamel sauce, some have meat but not so much and some dont. He was told "Absolutely Italian" after we explained the difference... Welp folks it was NOT. It was 100% American lasagna. He didn't even eat it, and it wasn't even taken off the bill when he expressed his dislike to it and literally only had two bites nor was asked if he'd like something else instead. Then the server asked if we wanted it boxed up directly after he said it wasn't what he was told it would be and that it wasn't good and you could visibly see he had two bites. As far as my chicken Marsala- it was AMAZING. And the chicken Parm egg rolls were delicious.

I sat at the bar. The bar staff were so busy and yet they still managed to serve me. Obviously very experienced and adept to busy evenings. I had the lobster ravioli, very generous with the lobster filling. Cream sauce was great, light enough so it didn't feel like it was going weigh in your stomach. I had the doughnuts, nice and fresh!! I polished off both dishes easily.

Oh my lordt! Probably one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve been to and the best Linguine Clams for sure. So much flavor in this dish. The serving portion is quite big too, with plenty of noodles. We started with the Chicken Parmesan Egg Rolls, which was such a great start to our dinner. The chicken parm was good by itself, but with the marinara it was even better! The complimentary bread was fresh and delicious. Just wished it had arrived at the begging of the meal, rather than when we were nearly done with our main courses. Had a Sandy Says cocktail drink and it they weren’t stingy with the alcohol either. Service was fast and friendly. We were seated at a table upstairs. They have seating downstairs, upstairs and outside as well. Definitely packed on this Saturday night. Great for small parties and large groups.

Tresca was a very enjoyable place to eat. The food was all fantastic, the ambiance was comfortable, and the music in the background was right for the environment. Service was good and we were checked on multiple times throughout our meal. I’d highly recommend Tresca for a nice evening in the north end!

One of the best north end restaurants, based on the research and reviews out there. Overall I would agree and the place had a great ambience, helped by a wonderful summer night. Service was great and my only minor complaint would be the mains were a little bland (had to add salt and chili flakes). Appetizers were great and definitely get the Calamari. Otherwise it’s a charming place and great for date night.

By far the BEST ITALIAN RESTAURANT on the North End. Being from DC with the AMAZING restaurants we have here, the ATTENTION to detail that we were afforded was nothing short of IMPECCABLE!!! Having the owner/chef Rich Ansara personally come out and recommend the dishes he was creating that night was a once in a lifetime pleasure. We atarted with the Veal Meatballs stuffed with mozzarella!!! Sheesh that was amazingI Fillowed by the Lasagna and my wife had the Lobster stuff Rivoli. In closing I highly recommend the restaurant and just be prepared for a expierence of a lifetime.....

I really enjoyed this restaurant! The food was great especially given the competition in the North End. I've tried a handful of restaurants here but this one is definitely one of my favorites. The service was friendly, attentive and speedy. I loved the vibe inside, it was clean and beautiful. I would love to sit in the upstairs terrace one day!

My family and I had an amazing experience at Tresca!!! There was incredible service and the owner, Rich, came over and spoke to us himself to check on our experience. The food and drinks were incredible. I highly recommend the donuts and the gnocchi! We will definitely be going back soon!

Service was phenomenal, everyone was really kind. I had the meatballs and were delicious, great way to start the dinner. The steak was also pretty good and the side potatoes were amazing. The chocolate cake was a great way to end the night. Truly a good experience. I recommend it.

My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary a couple of months ago at Tresca. Peaceful atmosphere with a great street view. Amanda was our server and she was fantastic! I ordered Anna Maria’s Famous Stuffed Meatballs, my husband ordered the Baked Scallops and we shared the Italian Chopped Salad. While we were eating we got to meet Rich Ansara, chef and part owner of Tresca. Rich is a lovely talented man and I highly recommend chit chatting with him. We ended the night with some delicious cannolis. We’ve been back to Tresca a few weeks ago and we plan on eating there again. Thank you so much Rich!

Great time on the North End, eating at Tresca on a busy Saturday night. Two of us dined at the restaurant before, one was a newcomer. We ate upstairs in the dining room. We shared the fried calamari with hot peppers, Caesar salad and margherita pizza. The apps were really good. The pizza crust was slightly thicker than I prefer, but tasty nonetheless. For dinner we had chicken Marsala, capellini gamberoni and pollo Bella bocca from the specials menu. Each chicken dish was very tasty and although they looked similar in presentation, each had a distinctive flavor. The pasta was very fresh. The chef/owner Rich may end up at your table checking in on your dining experience and offering suggestions. The waitstaff was friendly, attentive and addressed our allergy concerns. We will definitely return.

One of the Boston gems...The food is tremendously made..Very authentic and fresh served with a smile usually from the chef. DONUT HOLES PIZZA You name it the menu is so fun. That and they offer sauce to take home for a second round. Loved it floated right upstairs with the passion put into the foods aroma..

Excellent Boston north end meal for large party. Excellent service, very friendly and attentive. Excellent swordfish. Two floors. Packed-in tables. Moderate noise level. 20% tip automatically added for large party. Would return.

I met my friends here last night, and the atmosphere was great. The main chef came out to say hi, and the server was very polite and cheerful (good wine suggestion). The food was great, while some were a little bit too salty. However, good enough and I especially enjoyed the Sicilian Pizza! Will visit again!

Lovely dinner. The lobster ravioli was a big portion and really tasty. Our waiter was super friendly and the owner stopped by the table as well to check in. Make a reservation before going, it was really busy.

This is a nice Italian place with a warm ambiance to it. The servers are friendly and the service was great as they are attentive. We tried the pizza, Caesar salad, eggplant Parmesan, and the truffle gnocchi. The Caesar salad was delicious and filled with good flavor. The eggplant Parmesan was just right with really good noodles and rich tomato sauce that complemented the dish perfectly. The truffle gnocchi was cooked perfectly and had just the right about of flavor without an overwhelming amount of truffle flavor. The pizza was also delicious. We also tried the donut dessert and it was nice and crisp. I would recommend this food and would come back to eat there again! The bread we got in the beginning was solid as well with the oil you spread on top of it! So yummy!

Don't come to Boston without having dinner at Tresca! Second time there and even more impressed this time. Upstairs dining room with a table by the window was perfect. The waiter Kevin was knowledgeable about the menu, told us his favorites, was attentive to our needs, and had the sweetest personality. I appreciated that we were not rushed (too often places just seem to want to turn tables). The co-owner and chef Rich brought us out his specialties and we enjoyed hearing him talk about the food. He was genuine and kind. We ate the award winning stuffed meatball~perfection, The lobster stuffed mushrooms~ delish, and shared the veal parmesan with pasta. The veal is their specialty Rich explained the three different ways they lovingly prepare it and we were not disappointed! Perfect size for sharing, tender and cooked to perfection. The homemade pasta it was paired with was so good too! I am curious what the shape is called? Looking forward to my next trip to Boston and ofcourse Tresca

Food was fantastic, service was attentive. Ordered the calamari and 2 pasta dishes, absolutely delicious. It was our anniversary and our server was kind enough to bring us a complementary dessert. The co-owner was coming around to every table to make sure everyone was enjoying the food and were being taken care of. You’ve gotta visit when you’re in the Boston North end!
