Unfortunately, this will be one of the few negative reviews. I got a small pepperoni pizza and some garlic knots. The pizza was cold. I mean cold, like cheese was hard and oil was just sitting in pools on top. It was obvious it was made earlier because the bottom of the box was soaked in oil. Also, I don't mind burnt crust, but the bottom was darker than I would have liked. The burnt taste overpowered the rest of the flavors and made it less enjoyable. The garlic knots were pretty good. They would be amazing if they were warm and fresh. They were not. I do not fault the restaurant, as I've heard nothing but good things. I placed the order earlier in the morning for a lunch pickup. The website said the order would not be ready for pickup until a certain time. When it said the order was ready, I got it within a few minutes since I am close by. I may try again in the future to see if my experience is different.

Positives: nice atmosphere, pizza selections, quick and polite service. Negatives: pizza. Oily enough to bleed a few napkins. crust that's as limp near the middle as a soggy piece of paper. An amount of "char" that would make you wonder why it was warned about in the menu. Sorry, I had high hopes entering, but it's just not my style.

First time and I was blown away by their pizza, garlic knots with cheese, and wings!!! Service was amazing and Nichole made my visit super special. I sat inside and there was outdoor seating too as an option. On top of the great food they have COKE products so love that....now they just need to offer Coke Zero! Keep up the great work!

It was a very pleasant experience! It was beyond my expectations, the pizza is fantastic, the Asian salad unique, the wings were deliciously hot and the beers were great! This is a place for family and friends and very close to the heart of Cambridge, MIT is around the corner, the patio is wonderful specially during the hot days and I will recommend it with my closest ones. The mood was very nice and the staff gave us a top service, just like a king! Very satisfied and definitely coming back again! Margarita Pizza omg! Very delicious!

Love a good long fermented dough! The pies are excellent - I just wish I visited with more than one other person to be able to try more of the menu.

Amazing and so so good. Maple bacon and carnivore are the best. It's not New York style but the Neapolitan is not to be overlooked here. They cooked it in a real pizza oven and the sauce is tasty too

Small is great size for 1. Really good pepperoni. We’ll cooked. Crust a bit to thick and soft. Would like a bit more crunch. UPDATE (5/6/22): they‘ve suddenly and inexplicably changed their pepperoni. Instead of the delicious and convenient miniature slices, my last 2 pies have been littered with the humongous kind, approx 4” in diameter. These are uncool, because 1) they can’t be easily redistributed, which I frequently do in order to establish proper coverage, 2) entire slices slide off during a single bit when not fully severed, and 3) they don’t achieve the same crisp-factor, which means they aren’t as tasty. The Brussels sprout salad is amazing, but the pepperoni situation has me shook.

Fantastic little pizza place! Indoor & outdoor seating. Garlic knots are more like big rolls-a basket =3 and they are delicious! The pizza is brick oven and the carnivore is very good! Our server was super friendly and attentive!

Area Four stands out as an very good pizza destination. Boasting a modern atmosphere, it offers a welcoming ambiance perfect for casual outings. The menu showcases a diverse array of pizzas crafted with care and precision, featuring fresh, high-quality ingredients. Whether you're craving a traditional Margherita or eager to explore unique flavor combinations, Area Four delivers on both taste and quality, making it a good option for pizza aficionados in Cambridge and beyond.

Love the pizza here! The regular cheese and the prosciutto arugula are my two faves. Mushroom fontina pizza was also very tasty. Brussels sprouts salad was a nice addition as well to balance out the pizzas.

The pizza isn't perfect (the crust can get too thin, and therefore soggy some days we go) but this place has the best customizations out of any other pizza place I've been to.

Ordered the small Maple Bacon. Paired it with the New Park IPA … love the pizza, and how the bacon is thinly distributed as the onions - creating a more even taste. It is a must try for any bacon lover. The grapefruit hint of the New Park compliments the amazing pizza!

They have pretty good pizza and good service. The salads here are very expensive compared to the portions you get but they were understanding when we mentioned it to them and took it off our bill.

Area four is one of my favorite pizza place in Boson area. My husband and I came here for lunch on Saturday and had breakfast pizza and the hot mess. Both are really good!! The server was super friendly and nice. I would highly recommend this place

Great delivery experience! The shaved Brussels sprout salad is truly phenomenal, one of the best salads I’ve ever had. I got a special spring veggie pizza and it was also really good! Nice fresh veggies, really flavorful. It’s so hard to find good takeout pizza in Cambridge, so was this the best pizza I’ve ever had? No. But is it great quality for this area? Yes.

I come here/order from here pretty frequently since I work in the area. The pizza here is the best I’ve had in Boston. I love the thin crust and the char you get from the brick oven. They also have a great drink selection. Their patio seating is also great. I highly recommend trying this place out! Their sides and salads are also awesome.

One of the more popular pizza restaurants in the area, Area 4 offers a wide variety of pizzas with both classic and fun toppings. Service is excellent, and restaurant is very casual, generally noisy, with larger parties (not a good pick for date night, but good for going out with friends or hosting some event). Pizzas are good, but definitely very American-style. Don't expect thin crust or anything different, just classic thick crust pizza. I've been here on a couple occasions, and I'd say that out of all the pizzas I've tried, my favorite was the roasted fall squash. The appetizers are pretty good, especially the brussel sprout salad, which is nothing short of divine. Garlic knots are overhyped, as is the mac. The prices are a bit heavy (around 18 for a pizza with some more standard toppings), and I wouldn't say the food quite justifies it, but it's not a bad choice to satisfy a pizza craving.

Went for our Anniversary dinner. Very good youthful vibe. Had the Greek Salad, Truffle Mac & Cheese for appetizers and then the Margherita & Hawaiian Pizza. Served by a very friendly staff. Very Delicious and flavorful. They have a large selection of alcohol. Will definitely revisit.

The highlight of my visit was definitely their delicious pizza, which was flavorful and satisfying. The crust was perfectly cooked, and the toppings were fresh and tasty. I would highly recommend trying their pizza if you're a fan of Italian cuisine. However, I was a bit disappointed with the way they handled the check at the end of the meal. Without asking for our consent, they automatically included a 20% gratuity on the total bill after taxes. While I understand that gratuity is common practice in many establishments, it would have been nice to be informed or given the option to decide on the gratuity amount ourselves. Additionally, the remaining change was handed back to us without any explanation or acknowledgment. Despite this issue, I still enjoyed the overall dining experience and would consider returning for the quality of their food. I hope that in the future, they provide more transparency and communication regarding gratuity charges to ensure a smoother and more satisfying customer experience.

We love getting takeout or dining in here - A4’s pizza never disappoints! The za toppings are both creative and well executed, time and again, plus the crust has that great chew to it. On top of that, their other food options always satisfy our tastebuds, from the obligatory Shaved Brussels Sprouts and Kale Salad (it’s phenomenal - we get it every time!), to the Supreme Garlic Knots when we’re feeling decadent, to other seasonal goodies. Lastly, A4 has hands down the best craft beer selection - both on draft and in bottle/cans - in Cambridge. I definitely recommend visiting if you’re riding solo, with a group, or with your family.

Loved this Caesar salad with fresh anchovies, which were not salty as anticipated. Think a little less cheese and a tad more creamy dressing would be perfect for me....it was delicious. I ordered the Hawaiian pizza and will not get that again. The texture of the "ham" was weird as it was cubed and a bit dry not succulent. The pineapple was not a sweet burst....the ratios were off from slice to slice (small pizza) and the topping fell off due to their shape and not being under the cheese. I will say, as a SoCal girl, Hawaiian pizza is a beloved pizza for me and when I want it, I want it to deliver a certain experience for me. I did not enjoy the Boston version. However, the dough....oh the dough! Mwah! Loved it! Cooked perfectly! Had yummy flavor, texture, chew and tasted delicious hours later. Fantastic job there! Will be back to try other pizzas!

This review is for the A4 Cafe (breakfast sammies). A4 Cafe is within the Area Four restaurant (with its own direct access from the sidewalk), open early morning until early evening. Offering breakfast, lunch, beverages and pastries. Coffee is roasted well here. Nice to see at this time mulled cider and other drinks like the teas and seasonal house lemonade. Breakfast food options are limited: yogurt & granola, oatmeal, and breakfast sandwiches (very customizable). Pastries are pretty varied and. I especially love the breakfast sandwiches (option for an everything bagel that's particularly tasty).

The pastries here are fancy and at great value! The pecan sticky bun is huge, twice the size of the sticky bun from Flour bakery. Almond croissant is by far the best I’ve ever had in the US. It’s full of sweet almond meal filling without the artificial overwhelming almond extract flavor. Compare to almond croissant, chocolate croissant is average. The gluten free brownie is soft and moist, very chocolatey, nicely finished with cream cheese swirl on top.
