This is a great place on so many levels! The food quality is amazing. The drinks were spectacular. Everything is made to order, which gives it such a fresh flavor. Even the hot sauce is home-made and it is delicious and super spicy! The clam chowder from here is definitely one of my top favorite chowders in all of Boston. The staff was extremely polite and attentive. The vibes and the music were superb. I cannot emphasize how pleased I was with my visit! Will definitely come back.

Peep that lobster & waffles though?! 😍 it was my favorite thing that we got! The items on the menu were unique, food was bomb. Excellent server and amazing seafood! Highly recommend 💯

Great place to get seafood. The raw bar is fresh with quality ingredients. Each bite is made into the perfect flavorful bite! The presentation of the food is nice. The canned fish menu is large and has a nice accompaniment to pair with the fish. The tuna flatbread was large and the tuna with the roasted tomatoes was great. If you want to sit outside you'll definitely be waiting a long time.

We had an excellent time! I love the new space and I think it elevated the vibe. All the food was excellent, but the tinned scallops was the standout. We were skeptical at first but we were talked into it and it exceeded our expectations. Brian delivered on service and recommended some excellent wine pairings. We asked for a specific wine taste but he brought an additional taste that he thought my mom would enjoy more and he was right! A perfect touch to make the evening memorable. I’ll be back soon!

The absolute best meal we had our entire time in Boston. The lobster roll was absolutely to die for!!! My partner had the octopus empanadas and oh my lord, we both agree it may be a contender for the best lobster/octopus EVER. Excellent work to the team at Saltie Girl. I’ve had this restaurant on my list for a while and was over the moon we were finally able to go. You should absolutely treat yourself to some lunch or dinner at this amazing establishment. I will say it’s a bit more fine dining than I was expecting, but still amazing nonetheless. Absolutely cannot wait to come back!!

One of my favorite meals of the year, by far! This place was recommended to me by a friend who is local and it did not disappoint. Each of the 3 dishes I had was amazing, but definitely the star was the hot lobster roll with butter! In general this place is pricey, but for the quality is worth it!

BEST CLAM CHOWDER!!!!!!!!!!!! We got so surprised with their clam Chowder! It was so rich and creamy but not too salty! It has breaded fried clam inside!!! Will definitely come back for this! Lobster roll was okay. The bread was super soft and buttery, but the lobster was too dry. They didn’t have the bake lobster or the clam pasta on the day we went :( a little bit disappointed. The waitress was so nice and she gave very good recommendation on the choice of oyster! Although there were some miscommunication and short of supplies but we were still happy with the meal. Their price is a bit higher than other restaurants, but I will say it’s worth it.

Great spot to dine in. Excellent customer service. Food is delicious and very creative cocktails. We enjoyed the Fig Bourbon drink and my wife had her fancy Martini with a side of caviar. The Cioppino was a great portion and delicious. Highly recommended. FYI Proof of vaccination is required.

It was great to come back after three years and see that Saltie Girl has taken over the whole corner. Expanding from 30 seats to 300. It’s even more impressive that they’ve maintained their quality. It’s a must stop any time I’m in Boston. The food speaks for itself. Try the tinned fish, it’s an adventure!

The food was really high quality and the staff were all super helpful! The lighting is very comforting and it's a great place to relax and enjoy good food. The items were a bit on the expensive side, but the attention to detail made up for it. The vegetables were expertly cut, the bun in the lobster roll was excellent, and it felt like a lot of care was given to each ingredient.

We stop by here when we can whenever we’re in Boston, so if you like lobster then stop by for some brunch and be ready to be very full! I recommend the Chowder, New England lobster roll, and the eggs benedict with lobster. All of those are pretty heavy so I’d split them amongst your party or just get a main for yourself and it should be a plenty big meal! Service is always great and prompt, and the upstairs dining area has a nice charm for a slow Sunday morning. They don’t run out of reservation space quickly and we have a habit of reserving for places ahead of time, so I’m not sure what the walk-in experience is. Either way it’s not a hassle to reserve so I’d go for that.

Came here on a Sunday at 1pm, was seated outdoors pretty quickly for party of two. We ordered the small bowl of clam chowder, which was already pretty big so I can't imagine how big the deluxe bowl is. The lobster roll is exceptional. They are very generous with the amount of lobster they stuff in their perfectly toasted, buttered, fluffy bread. Also, I prefer a warm lobster roll, and they let you choose if you want it served warm or cold which is a huge plus in my book.

We got the fried lobster and waffles (fried lobster was amazing) and the waffles were warm fluffy and fresh. We had the clam chowder to share, charred octopus (amazing) and fried calamari - which came with sausage and jalapeños and both were incredible. We also got the Gloucester lobster roll and the brioche was fresh, generous portions of lobster and the overall meal was delicious and well presented. The service was incredible and attentive, definitely recommend coming for the experience at least once!

Service: good Ambiance: lovely Food: Charred octopus was delicious but the sauce was too overpowering. Tuna crudo was nicely done but should have been a bigger dish for the price. Burger was good but did not taste any pork belly, not sure if it was mixed into the patty or place separately. Fried lobster was a bit chewy. Fries were not good… tasted old. Cioppino… was not a cioppino… it’s supposed to be a seafood stew and not a seafood pasta dish. If I were to rate it as a pasta dish… it was tasty but not wow. White asparagus was very nicely done!

AMAZING food. The service is friendly and fun. We ordered 10 things and each was more delicious than the rest. We went for brunch, made a reservation the day before and got great outdoor seats. The lobster rolls in particular were amazing and the drinks were fun and unique. It's a must for brunch in Boston.

Seafood was excellent. Raw tuna, calamari and lobster and waffles were great. Lobster roll was incredibly decadent. Burger was as bad a burger I’ve ever had. Not seasoned, cooked well done while we order medium and the pork belly was flabby and disgusting. Luckily they comp’d it. Stay away from it. Pacing of food was strange. Everything was out in 15 min and then we waited another 20 min for the burger. So everyone was done eating while one person was still waiting for their food!

Stoped by Saltie Girl because we were in the area and absolutely loved it. All the drinks we tried were delicious, but my favorite was definitely the Passion Fruit! We tried a few oysters which were really fresh and good! We also had the salmon belly, which I highly recommend trying. Then we had the burger with lobster and the fried scallops. Everything was delicious and the service was friendly! Definitely recommend stopping by!

On a snowy day we wanted to grab a bite. Saltie has been on my radar for a while. Whenever I visit the Boston area it’s about where we can enjoy a meal and have an experience. Saltie definitely passed the test!

Absolutely love the food of Peche by Saltie Girl. The grill lobster was tender sweet and the herb butter sauce was heavenly. The other accompanying sauces: love the curry. Mint chutney is solid too. My husband had fish and chips. The yucca fries like chips are exceptional. Hope they will make a permanent installment.

Delicious, beautiful plates. Good sized portions. Every dish we got was absolutely beautiful, every bite was full of flavor and the restaurant itself is very cute! Perfect place for date night ❤️ Definitely get the lobster roll! We will be returning 😁

Finally had a chance to come here for dinner . Make sure you have reservations for any occasions here. It’s pretty dimly lit inside and nicely decorated. The services and food was amazing . We had the dwac urchin Uni which comes out with the dropper bottle , the day boat crudo, the torched salmon belly with avocados , yellowtail crudo and the delicious branzino . Everything came out Instagram looking and as good as it looks . Words can’t describe how fresh and the excellence of it all.

10/10 would come again for the seafood tower! It was perfect for sharing and for sampling a little bit of everything. The seafood tasted clean and fresh. These were some of the biggest shrimps we've ever had! Although very expensive, it was a nice splurge. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. The parking around the area is almost nonexistent.

Came here for brunch and had a great time. Service was prompt and friendly, and the ambiance was pleasant and gave Hampton’s surf shack vibes. The Lobster Roll and Lobster and Waffles were both great; I’ve never had fried lobster before and it went surprisingly well with waffles and maple syrup. The Maine Uni Roll was fresh and sweet, but it came packed with too much rice that it overshadowed the flavors. Overall the food was great and a solid choice for brunch, but lacked general creativity and uniqueness.

No wonder the reviews are stellar. The lobster roll was succulent, bread was perfectly toasted, not soaked in butter but rather one with the butter. 👌🏽 The clam chowder was rich, creamy, with a depth of flavor, literally salivating as I’m recalling the dish. Ryan was such a delight- welcoming, kind, friendly, and such a great vibe.

Great seafood spot in Back Bay! We were staying at a hotel nearby and came here for dinner on our first night in Boston. The food was all fantastic, especially the lump crab toast and the lobster roll.

Had lunch here and loved it. The oysters were served with all the sides you would want, the lobster roll was STUFFED and the fish and chips were very crispy. The restaurant space was bright and nice - really enjoyed it.

The server was kind and helpful. He helped us make choices when we were unfamiliar with some of the menu options. We ordered the lobster roll (warm) and the snow crab toast (cold). The lobster roll came out 10 minutes before the snow crab toast. These were both entrees, so we were a bit upset with the timing. The snow crab toast was a bit under seasoned as well. We could imagine black pepper and lemon would have made it better. We had the lime and blackberry tart for dessert. This was delicious, recommended by the waiter, and recommended by us as well. The table and chairs were clean, but the floor was full of crumbs and we felt uncomfortable putting our bags down. It was good, but for the price point, we certainly expected more.

This was my first time eating a lobster roll ever, and to be honest it was incredibly good. It was tasty, plentiful, well seasoned and the bun was great too. Nevertheless, I am sure there are other great ones out there. It didn’t feel wildly special as some of the comments would have you believe. We also had the lobster bolognese, which was really good, it competes with the lobster roll. The servers were always attentive and the atmosphere is beautiful. Fair warning, it will be expensive. Our total racked up to 130 for the roll, the pasta, a lemonade and a glass of wine.

The food at saltie girl was amazing. Apart from only having 3 mushrooms in the mushroom dish, there were no complaints about the food. The salmon belly was delicious, and the oysters were fresh. I loved the vinegar eye dropper, very creative. The interior is a bit drab. The service was fine (nothing special). The price was exorbitant (I knew this going in). Unfortunately, for the entire experience I believe the price is too expensive.

The new and larger location is great! Formerly the MET. There are smaller rooms within that provide a great atmosphere. We came in NYE and our server was incredible. So friendly and genuine. I highly recommend the burger of all things. Moist and loaded with pork belly, avocado, and a lobster claw. Awesome selection of tinned fish as well. Smoked Patagonia mussels were the bomb

Food was great. Service leaves something to be desired. It was a busy Friday afternoon and we arrived without reservations but were able to be seated pretty quickly outside on the patio. Took a long time to get water then our waiter disappeared without providing the sparkling water I asked for and another one took her place. My meal took longer to arrive than my partner's. Patio was full of bees which made us leave quicker than we would have otherwise.

Quick Summary Fantastic food and probably the best lobster roll I found in the city. Excellent service and great ambiance. Food- 5 stars Lobster roll- ordered the warm style and it was fantastic. Large serving of lobster that tasted pretty fresh. Perfectly buttered and toasted roll as well Lobster and waffles- fried lobsters on top of waffles. This was incredibly good and I enjoyed every bite Maine uni- first time trying Maine uni and it was fantastic. I was lucky to arrive during uni season and it was fantastic and briny. It's not as sweet as Hokkaido or Santa Barbara uni, but the briny and savory flavor was divine. Sardine tin fish- they have a lot of tin fish here. It's basically served as a charcuterie board (but you replace the meats with tin fish instead). It's good and worth trying once Oysters- the oysters were double shucked perfectly and very fresh. They only had Massachusetts oysters though and a PEI (sadly no Maine oysters on the menu) Service- 5 stars Our servers were fantastic. Very attentitve without being overbearing. Bottom Line Excellent food, ambiance and my favorite lobster roll of the city. Definitely a must-try while in Boston

The food is really good especially for the price. We love the calamari that also came with salty sausages. The lobster roll and the crab toast was amazing. I'm ok with the lobster and waffle as I didn't like the lobster fried. Also love the king mushrooms dish with quinoa!

Absolutely phenomenal experience! The food was to die for, might very well be the best hot lobster roll I’ve ever had! Our waitress Milica was exceptional and very informative! The Brussels were great and original tasting, the shrimp were as big as my fist and succulent oysters from all around the North American shores!

  • 5/5 Pamela M. 1 year ago on Google
Very cool and casual vibe. Nice staff, clean. Ate out in the patio, great views! The menu was a bit overwhelming with not your typical sections of a menu, but if you ask a staff member, they will explain or recommend items! The lobster roll is delicious, warm and creamy! The waffle of the lobster waffles is to die for! Drinks were Mango 👍🏼and Hibiscus 👍🏼

May be a slight wait, though the tables turn quick enough. Warm Lobster Roll was amazing and clam chowder was second best I’ve had in the city. Asked for a spicy Bloody Mary and it was probably the spiciest I’ve ever had (good for them for actually making it spicy, vs other restaurants). Service was a little slow? But for lunch on a Saturday, can’t fault them. Overall highly recommended!

One of the best meals I have ever had! Everything was so fresh and delicious. Quality ingredients. I highly recommend The grapefruit cocktail and salmon belly appetizer. Excellent service! Our server, Carlos, was so friendly and knowledgeable.

Great clam chowder and lobster rolls! Definitely going to be a staple restaurant for us. All their small plates were delicious! A bit on the pricey side, bit delicious. Very accommodating to dairy and egg allergies.

The food was very tasty with the fresh clams and lobster waffle as our choices. The variety of flavors for the oysters was astounding and the location was very nice. I just hope the service can be worked on a bit. It was by no means atrocious, but i would not call it great service. Hopefully it was just lunch on a Wednesday that caused the poorer treatment. All in all I would recommend it.

  • 4/5 Kyle V. 2 years ago on Google
We stopped by because we were told they had the best lobster rolls in the city, and from our visit we would have to agree. While it was a little expensive, I saw food for the same price at nearby Quincy Market. The atmosphere was nice and everything was clean.

Went for dinner on a whim and was immediately sat and had wonderful service and recommendations. There appeared lots of seating options and atmospheres to fit everyone's style. These were the freshest and most delicious oysters I had during a recent Boston trip and I'm already ready to go back. The small yellowtail plate was also great. Highly recommended if you're in the area; I would most definitely like to try their other seafood offerings on my next visit.

Wow! What a great restaurant and bar. My wife and I were here in Boston from Los Angeles for a couple of days. We sat at the bar for lunch. Raw oysters, raw scallops (amazing!) and raw tuna. Also a bowl of clam chowder. Everything was exceptional, fresh, beautifully plated , and creative. Then add exceptional service! We sat the comfortably for a long time. A memorable meal and experience.

Top notch Newbury establishment, I love the quirky atmosphere and beautiful bar. Nice choice for a date on the town. The drinks and dishes are creative and delicious. The ingredients really accentuate the natural flavor of the seafood (melt in your mouth scallops!)

I loved this restaurant and the fact that it offered inside and outside seating. If you sit outside you have a great view of all of the action near back bay 😉 . I started with the watermelon cocktail and it wasn't too sweet at all. It was really tasty and refreshing. Next was the spicy king crab roll...its only 2 rolls, but considering its full of fresh king crab meat it is absolutely worth it. It was delicious and had just the right heat with the spicy mayo. The show stopper was the fried lobster and waffle for sure! It had a corn butter on top and a spicy bourbon syrup. I'll be honest, the syrup had zero spice, and it really needed it because the lobster was sweet and the corn butter was sweet as well (I didn't expect the corn butter to taste so much like corn, but it did and it was amazing!). The waffle was crispy outside but super fluffy on the inside. The portion was huge and between all of that lobster meat and the fluffy waffle I wasn't able to finish it all. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant if you haven't!
