Food is outstanding, we ate many oysters. Good experience overall but a few complaints: 1) We made reservations but were forced to sit at the bar instead of allowed a table. 2) A 3% covid operations fee is added to the total bill. The prices are already high and the restaurant is cramped. To the restaurant: If you're not satisfied with your margins you could increase your price instead of the surprise fee. With that being said, I will definitely be back because the food is top notch.

Highly recommend you come here. Fresh and delicious seafood! The Spanish Octopus was so good, we had to order it twice!

We did a reservation. The place is nice inside, however what I liked the most are the tables outside and I was able to come with my puppy. We ordered oysters, pulp and beet salad. All was just delicious! Oysters extremely fresh and the pulp had an unique taste. You will feel welcomed and very well served by your waitress. They are very kind, fun and provide high service. I regret that they do not have coffee nor dessert. Food was a great experience but I just like the whole package. 100% recommended.

Blown away by this eclectic, fantastic, and modern restaurant. The food is presentation and taste. The food is unbelievable. Bryant was our server and he was absolutely amazing. We started off with drinks which were spectacular. Our appetizers were an absolute delight - the tuna tartare was fresh and amazing, the crab salad gives you more bang for your buck than any other place I know. The showstopper was the beet salad - a explosion of colors and taste! The halibut and char were so well presented. Compliments to the chef and this wonderful restaurant that we will put on our “come back again” list!!!

Pricey but really good. This octopus dish is one of the best! You have to like cilantro though. Little neck clams were really good. Salmon crudo was amazing.

One of the best spots in Boston for fresh oysters and amazing seafood dishes. Recently came in for an early dinner to enjoy some good quality oysters in the Back bay area. We were surprised to see that the restaurant was almost completely full and were fortunate to grab the last available table in the main hall. We started off with a dozen oysters with 4 varieties. All were extremely fresh, and except for the Canadian one, they were more briny than what I’m used to. Nevertheless, they paired well with the sweet pickled vinaigrette. The tuna tartare and the salmon crudo were very flavorful, and the sweet spread on the crostini was a fantastic complement to the uni. We also really enjoyed the blue prawns which had a weirdly addicting smoky seasoning. Blue crab salad was the only item that we thought was mediocre for the price, but it was still worth a try. For the entrées, we shared the petite clams and the Icelandic arctic char. Arctic char was very similar to a trout, but it was more buttery and its combination with the little gem lettuce was fantastic. Petite clams came in a nice broth, and we were surprised by the sheer number of clams in the broth. Although we weren’t able to finish it, it was a hearty way to finish off our meal. Overall, Select oyster bar was a great choice for us who love fresh oysters and contemporary seafood dishes. Service was also excellent, and we’ll definitely be back to try more of their menu.

No reservation but Ben our server slid us into the community table at the front and provided excellent conversation, suggestions and service. We tried a few of each oyster they were about 3.50-4 bucks a pop but worth it i would suggest the first and last oysters on the list they seemed to be the meatiest. I’ve never had a lobster roll either and this was one of the freshest seafood items I had ever enjoyed. The house made chips were AWESOME. Super light and crispy and not oily at all. Also shared the yellowfin tuna appetizer which was delicious and I never thought I’d enjoy caviar but it melted in your mouth. The cocktails were refreshing on a muggy night after a rain fall. A really enjoyable night with old friends complimented with excellent food and service. Will definitely return next time I am in the Back bay area.

Very high quality oyster bar in Back Bay Area right across from Hynes Conference Center that’s worth a visit for lunch or dinner. For us, they had a very nice selection of 7 oysters local and otherwise that were all really exceptionally fresh. The crab legs were quite average so would skip it next time and just opt for the crab salad which was really excellent. Being an uni lover, I was partial to the uni toast but it was really just some very fresh uni on top of a baguette without any other accoutrements (bit overpriced but I’m not too mad). The salmon crudo is superb. Not pictured are the grilled octopus which is a must order, and the clam and chorizo stew which was just the hearty dish you’d want for a cold Boston day. Our colleague ordered the halibut as the main and was relatively satisfied with it but in all honesty, you might be quite well off just splitting a ton of oysters and other raw items. Nice and intimate sit down area in the back for larger parties and overall service was very friendly and timely. Would certainly come back.

Good light seafood options. Their tuna tartare flavorful with a little touch of avocado at the bottom. I could finish 2 orders myself! Oysters are fresh, the vinegar delicious and matches well with the oysters. Both fish options, Arctic Char and Halibut are good just a matter of which fish you prefer. Can skip the lobster salad, most of my group were not fond of it due to the “flowery” flavor on the vinegrette used.

Made a reservation. I was seated at the bar. Bar staff was friendly. Explained everything to me. I don’t mess around when I eat out of town! I order the Gloucester—just for myself. I ate it all. I will review the items from my favorite to my least favorite. Even though the last is the last, it was still damn good. #1 oysters. Bing bong! So good. The hot sauce is hot. I like hot. My lips are still numb. Next the crab salad. So good. Then the salmon crudo, lobster salad, and finally the shrimp. Really fun. Great experience. You’ll like it.

4.5 Really enjoyed our meal at this spot, we sat at the bar and which was a great vibe. We ordered a bunch of oysters which were all delicious and 2 mains to share. Highly recommend the octopus and the halibut- both were great! Everything was fresh and served promptly. Many people were ordering the seafood platters. The vibe was fun- reservations are necessary, but perhaps you can get a spot at the bar on a week night.

Service was outstanding to patrons but also to its own family members. The staff worked in perfect harmony helping each other out. The staff ensemble carried out as if it was a five star restaurant. So happy to see that type of team work. As amazing as the service was the delicious food fell in line. The ambiance fitted right in with mood of the restaurant. I wish I was a local so I can become a regular. Five star and beyond.

First time (Sept 2023) Octopus was ok (too heavy on the dressing) Beet salad was good Mussels were the best! The mussels were ok but the broth was absolutely delicious The bisque was high on fish and shell fish the broth was very lame compared to the broth from the mussels Service at the bar was good

Second time here... and the food is as good as I remember (came last in Dec 2021)... We were 30 minutes early and they were kind enough to seat us...we started with oysters... The Maine ones are sweeter while the Massachusetts ones are saltier but all really REALLY good - had to do a repeat of Norumbroga! For mains had the sea-bream and ceviche. All awesome. Note the sea-bream is served whole with bones but the taste is exquisite. For drinks, has the pomegranate with lemon as well as the ginger habanero drink. Impeccable service, very friendly people.

Ordered: Oysters & the Swordfish Cost: $70 Thoughts: Great atmosphere, good oysters, and an incredible blend of flavors in the swordfish.. nothing too overbearing. Would definitely recommend, but it is a little pricy for what you get.

Good selection of oysters, everything on the menu is great, try their swordfish!

Amazing spot in the back bay! Food was absolutely fabulous as was the service. We started with the octopus, mussels, cauliflower, and for dinner we had the black bass special (soooo delicious), sea bream, and bouillabaisse. Everything was so flavorful and interesting. Our server was Alejandro and we was fantastic and so professional. Loved this place and would definitely come back when back in boston.

Outstanding ambiance, oysters, fish and service. For me a better “package deal” than Neptune oysters due to an easy reservation and nice ambiance.

Came for a late lunch/early dinner. Nice modern innovative seafood – not your classical fried seafood place. Expensive (as portion sizes on the small side – even the mains), but one of our best meals in Boston. On low carb diet, so got the crudo special (black bass), Spanish octopus, daily ceviche, Casco Bay halibut, and Icelandic artic char. All were excellent, as was the service. This is now our go-to seafood restaurant in Boston.

The Best Lobster Roll in BOSTON! This dish is just simply amazing here and all of the staff is so friendly, the only downside is that they do not have desserts, but the cocktails are also great. More reviews in Instagram @pa.babear

Located in between Boylston and Newbury Street, you could almost miss this restaurant if not for the sign that points you to the entrance of an unsuspecting brownstone. Inside you’ll find a lively ambiance and a cozy (but not cramped) space with plenty of seating. In addition to what you’ll find on the menu, you can order individual oysters by marking quantities on a card provided to your table. Island Creek and Moon Shoal were delicious. Your server can give you some recommendations based on your preferences (sweet, salty, etc). The salmon crudo was savory, arctic char was cooked perfectly, and bouillabaisse was hearty on a cold November day. Give it a shot!

Fantastic food! Small, cozy, romantic. Good drinks. Fabulous oysters. Clean bathroom. Friendly staff. A bit on the pricey side - but I'm willing to spend on great service and great food. This place will not disappoint!

This is just a world class oyster house. They deliver sophistication and sublime freshness. Short but excellent wine list. Knowledgeable staff. Besides oysters much other seafood, again well selected. If u r an oyster fan, these guys know how to shuck oysters perfectly.

High end oyster bar with some pretty great options. Great interior and cool back room. All of the oysters we ate were really fresh and tasty and so was the other food, I had the octopus. Most of the food we had was also tasty. The trays were a lot to eat for the price. My octopus came in a watery sauce with great fresh flavors but was a bit rubbery for the price (they were busy also). Extensive wine list and decent cocktails. It was really tight everywhere and a little cramped/hurried for the price is my only complaint.

This place is spectacular. Often you eat out, spend quite a bit of money and feel regret or disappointed in what you got for your money. This place is not one of those. Not cheap but excellent food and great service. Thanks Amy!!

Oyster and food served are very nice. They have the best sauce for oyster I had so far as a bit spicy really balance well with the oyster. Lobster salad is quite a portion and also great balance although for my personal taste it will be nicer if the seasoning can be slightly stronger as it's a bit too light for me (consider I tend to prefer light). Then there's a small piece lobster shell when I eat which I might be picky but it worth noticing if they can be extra careful. It's a busy place so better make reservation.
