Ordered takeout at this place. The lobster was black inside. I feel like the lobster was still raw but called the restaurant to ask and they said it was absolutely normal???? I re-steamed it for 10 more min and it turns red at pic three, which should be like that. It was definitely not fully cooked but they don’t admit. Bad service, bad attitude. Will never visit again.

Great place to taste Boston local cuisine and traditional dishes. The feeling is very welcoming and confortable. They offer a bar, high table or lower table options, reservations are recommended. Service is very attentive and quick to respond. The fish and chips and the scallops dish are great options (with the sweet potato mash). Enjoy this very centric and great restaurant!

As a well-know $$ seafood restaurant, it is GREAT! The restaurant looked elegant and provided a very comfortable feeling. The staff were very considerate and friendly. It is a wonderful place for friends, family or business partners to have a lunch or dinner. We ordered legal signature crab cake, Fried jumbo naked shrimp, fried fish and chips and sesame crusted blue fin tuna. ALL of them were DELICIOUS! They were fresh and juicy. The shell of fried food was really crunchy. We ordered legal red sangria and cucumber margarita as well. Both of them were good, specifically the red sangria. A very happy lunch there and one of the highlight of Boston visits.

We had the best time here. The food is amazing, guys. It is a must in Boston for us now. The steam lobster is super fresh, sweet and tender. It is everything you can ask for. The clam chowder with bread is also so delicious, it is perfect combination. The staff, omg, she is so nice. We left the restaurant at like 11pm, but they were still very patient, and kind.

This places is the bomb! Just amazing food. We went here since they had gluten-free food and we were not disappointed. Our host, Meagan was very knowledgeable and she suggested us to start with their gluten-free bread. Normally we don’t go for it since many places don’t have the gluten-free bread figured out, but this bread was one of the best ones out there. For the food we tried the Fish and Chips, Crab rolls and Lobster rolls since we were in the fresh fish area and we were pretty pleased with all that we tried. The food was very good…so much that I wanted to go back for dinner, but couldn’t as was stuffed with the lunch we had and also had to drive back to NY. Meagan also suggest the bon-bon’s which are chocolate covered ice cream balls. They were delicious too! Totally worth the try! Oh and their drinks are great too. Too bad we were not staying in Boston, else would have returned here for sure. Restaurant has a good ambiance and is upscale, but is also trendy. So good for any occasion I suppose. It’s in prime location opposite to the Opera and a Theatre, so good for a bite after or before.

Great chain. I always stop at one to get the clam chowder. Nice wait staff who were very helpful and fun to talk with. While I was here they had a special on the oysters during happy hour from 2 until 5.

Went here for lunch and had a great experience. The lobster roll was incredible! It was a large portion, delicious, and filling. Other places charge the same price for half the size, so I was very happy with the portion here. Great atmosphere and prompt service. Would highly recommend.

Great seafood place in downtown Boston. The lobster roll was buttery and delicious. The lobster ravioli was very good. It had some kick to it so pairing with a salad was a good choice. The drinks were great. I had a Kentucky Calypso and would highly recommend. The crab cake was pretty good. They have an awesome Boston Cream Pie.

It was so tasty I went back a second time for lunch! My #1 recommendation is the mango lemon drop. It tasted just like mango, a dangerous drink. I sat outside as it was summer and it felt great. The service was also fantastic. Everything I had was tasty. The rolls were delicious, the crab cake was good - it was actually lump crab and 90% crab meat. If you don’t mind splurging the baked lobster was very yummy. It had a mix of lobster, shrimp and scallops on the inside with a buttery crust on top. If you don’t want to spend as much the lobster roll was equally delicious. Buttery and filling. As a tourist visiting downtown Boston, I was very happy with this dining experience!

Had a wonderful meal of Garlic Butter Scallops, roasted potatoes and broccoli. My guest had the Trout , broccoli au gratin and fries. Everything was delicious and the service was friendly even though they were busy. Oh and the a la carte crab cake was a great idea!🦀

Coming from the northwest we know what good seafood is. The restaurant is just killing it! We visited this restaurant four times while in Boston for a week. Every item we had ordered is just beyond our expectations. The portion and the high quality of seafood you get for each main dish would have cost at least 25% more in Seattle. We like the clam chowder. It’s not full of cream like the popular Ivars restaurant in Seattle. The half pound lobster roll is simple, just warm butter and no mayo. It’s fresh and just the way we like it. Their signature crab cake combo is just ridiculously good. We have never had crab cake that is 80+% crab meat and it’s huge too. Unlike crab cakes in Seattle that are mostly full of fillers and can’t really tasted the crab meat. The prawns and scallops are perfectly seasoned and fresh. But their Cioppino is something you must order! The amount of fresh seafood you get is totally worth the $40 plate. It comes with half a lobster, prawns, calamari, scallops, fish, clams and plenty of mussels. The tomato broth is so flavorful that you can order a side dish of pasta to mix with the Cioppino for two people to share this dish. Their grilled fish is also another good option too. The big piece of grilled cod is juicy and melts in your mouth. It comes with two sides of your choice. This place is extremely busy when there are shows across the street so make sure you come with reservation. Otherwise sitting at the bar area is another option too.

Dinner here with my family was an amazing experience. We arrived a little early for our reservations. While waiting to see if our table was ready, a young woman asked us how we were doing and if we were going to see a show. Talked with us for a minute then we were seated. Already pleased at the level of care we were receiving. At the table, Destiny, our server, made us feel welcome and efficiently took our various orders with a smile. We all commented to each other how great the service was so far. I finished my drink and a manager, Doug, was instantly there taking the empty away and engaging us with some humor which was funny and appreciated. Our food was ready in astounding time, shockingly fast. It was soooo good! The food presentation was top notch. The desserts looked amazing! We all sampled each others dishes, great all around. Another manager came around, didn't catch her name, and asked how our evening was going. Going great! Doug came over again and told our daughter that if she could finish the kids crossword puzzle in one minute, he'd buy her dessert. She did and he did! 😊 This dining experience was the best one I've ever had anywhere. Yes, anywhere. The food was great but the level of personable service was way above anything you'd expect. I saw the managers and kitchen staff have a quick all hands meeting in the kitchen area. You can tell a lot from observing things like this. They were all attentive and focused then got right back to work. I was impressed with that. Thank you to the staff here, we went to see Hamilton but we kept talking about our dinner, you made a big impression.👍👍

If possible, I'd like to give you 0 points. The head manager at the bar ignores Asians *Be careful* 1. They don't take orders 2. They don't give me the food I ordered, so I thought the order went wrong and ordered alcohol. After that, he asked me if I wanted food, and when I answered, he gave me a toss. There was no alcohol after that. But all the prices were stamped on the receipt. The order of people who came much later than me, the food before and after I ordered came out quickly, and isn't the mistake of ordering 2 times only? It's not a mistake. It was a service that I wanted to get a refund on. It's the worst restaurant I've ever experienced in US. They ruined America's good image 즵짭 싐햅욥 맏돋귿닫

It was excellent experience to enjoy lobster here. We ordered gulf of Maine lobster (steamed and baked), the market price was 58 USD. This set can include two side dishes which were tasty as well. The interior design and atmosphere is lovely. The service lady was also very friendly and helpful. Really nice to be here.

One of the popular places in downtown Boston, Legal Seafood. The modern bistro and sleek warm interior has an intimate feel. The service is great and their prices are reasonable. As for food, we had the following Shrimp Scampi, was a bit more al-dente than expected, overall dish was okay. Lobster ravioli. Crab cakes Overall great place would recommend

Atmosphere: Stopped by on Black Friday afternoon, the restaurant was quiet. The restaurant is clean, standard bar area with a couple TVs. Bar tender was nice. Food: I ordered the clam chowder as an appetizer. It was standard clam chowder. Nothing exceptional, but not bad either. I then ordered the fish and chips and was offered "Angry" style, which was described as Cajun spices with a little heat. I was very disappointed. It came with 2 pieces of fried fish, fries, tartar sauce and coleslaw. I broke into the first piece of fish, it was very thin. Almost double the breading. The flavor was not very good. I didn't get any Cajun seasoning, it was missing salt, and it was bitter. The breading was a little dark, but not burned. Made me wonder if they oil hasn't been changed in a while. The second piece has a little more fish to it, but not what I would expect for a Legal Seafood. Flavor wasn't any better, even as I tied to add tartar sauce which was lacking acid. The fries where just okay as well. They were supposed to have the Cajun seasoning but again didn't get any Cajun spice and missing salt. Won't think I'll be back to this location any time soon. Fish and chips are a basic staple for seafood restaurants and disappointed they couldn't get that right. Price: Not too bad if the quality was better, unfortunately it wasn't so not worth the price I paid. Beer was a little pricey for a basic Sam Adams.

Love all the entrees we ordered, Crab Patties, Haddock Fish, and Three Lobster Rolls. Appetizers was the best clam chowder! To finalize, we had Boston Creme Pie ! The martinis we're great. Our hostess Meagan was checking, taking care of our requests consistently. We were very impressed with Meagan and our Entrees !!!!

Legal's Signature Crab Cake Combo: lump crab cake, grilled shrimp, seared scallops, mustard sauce. The food was delicious and I wish the portion was bigger. The crab cake was slightly burnt on the bottom, minor thing to improve on. I like the salad that came with it, citrusy and tangy, great balance to the dish. Beer Battered Fish & Chips: made with Samuel Adams Boston Lager® and locally-sourced. It was delicious. Fried fish was juicy on the inside and light & crispy on the outside. It was the better choice out of the two. Staff were friendly and attentive. One of the customers kindly moved over one seat so that there were seating for me and my friend. I will visit this place again.

We were initially trying to go to the Legal Sea Foods Harborside, but it was booked for the time we wanted and looked further out and found the Downtown Crossing one with a more workable time available. The staff here were wonderful and attentive. We had made reservations just in case and ended up showing up 30min early and were seated right away. The place was clean and inviting and the food was great. We got the Oysters Rockefeller and Fishermans Platter. Definitely worth it.

Went here while in Boston for the weekend. The restaurant is great! They have a great vibe, the service was excellent, the food was delicious and served in perfect portions. My cocktail was fantastic. The clam chowder is delicious! Our server (Patrick) was fantastic and the manager (Doug) made us laugh a bunch. We were very satisfied with the service. I highly recommend this place if you’re in the downtown/crossing area.

We were in Boston to visit my daughter and her boyfriend. Had a great dinner. Nick our waiter was awesome. Lobster roll, chowder, oysters, crab cakes, and swordfish were all outstanding. The wine Nick suggested was outstanding. When visiting Boston this restaurant is a definite place to have a great meal. Thank you for the great experience.

Such a good a vibe and amazing service! We came to Boston this past weekend and our waiter Renee was super friendly, patient and was able to answer all of our questions regarding the food. Such a great time and will be back next time we are in town!

It was pretty busy, but we were greeted by a server as soon as we were seated. BTW, reservations are strongly encouraged. Everything was amazing from the clam chowder to the fisherman's platter to the filet. We ordered dessert to go, key lime pie, and it was pretty good as well. I was so into the food, I forgot to take pictures. I also want to mention, the location is pretty cool as well. A lot was going on in the area.
