HOME RUN! The rare 5 star review. And totally deserved, on a consistent basis. This is the breakfast Eating experience you must add to your “did it” list. Giant portions, every breakfast item you want to choose from. Rapid and attentive service, and you feel like you are in a local “one of a kind” place on the corner, better to walk to, but parking is around, just make sure you can parallel park! Get here and enjoy. Ps, not just for breakfast!

Mike’s diner used to be my go to place for breakfast on weekends primarily because of the delicious waffles. Their cinnamon walnut waffle is to die for! Their blueberries, not so much. Avoid adding blueberries and you’ve got yourself a deal. When I ordered waffles with strawberry banana and blueberries, I had no idea that blueberries would be desiccated and juiced out. I almost thought the blueberries were bought from some food decor bowl.Their service is fast, staff is friendly and I would definitely recommend people to go there to try out other stuff that I haven’t, because I am a vegetarian.

Don't leave Boston without going here. Not even kidding.Eveyone had breakfast except me, I had the Pilgrim sandwich...omg❤ I would so get that again!!!! We had a party of 5. We were sat right away. The seating is a bit limited, but the food is more than worth any wait! We had a Super nice server. She was very attentive 😁 Husband had the duck🦆 hash(wow..who knew there was such a thing) he loved it. The boys had the emergency room🤣 was actually more than they could eat. Parking is a challenge, but if you can get a spot on the street, great! I think that runs$1.25. Per hour. Food came out fast. Seriously though, put Mike's on your list of places to eat in beantown. ☺😍🤩

An American dinner, people come here for the experience rather than the actual food. We ordered the corn beef with fried potato two toast and my friend ordered the waffle with a side of bacon and paid extra for real maple syrup. The waitress was friendly however two tables came after us and serviced before us, it toke them 45 minute to realize that they haven’t put our order in and she apologized for that and our food was on the table 10 minutes after !!! Portion was huge as expected and the food taste average. Egg was done as requested and it was an experience indeed !!

I love the diner atmosphere. Portions were nicely sized. The pastrami was nice and tender. Although I like my coleslaw slightly on the sweet size, the coleslaw wasn't too bad. Had a very lovely crunch to it. I would go again and try other food items. Bit by the look of the plates passing by me, didn't seem like there was any "bad" menu item.

A bustling morning with a great atmosphere. The portions are generous and beautifully presented. I particularly enjoyed the French toast! It has a rich cereal aroma, a fluffy and soft texture, and the maple syrup pairing is fantastic! Highly recommended! The waffles, on the other hand, are just average.

Diego omelet and Homemade corned beef hash and eggs. SO GOOD!! We walked 2 miles to get there, and it was worth it.

Had the chicken and waffles for brunch here at Mike's City and overall I thought it was really good. The chicken was well breaded and tender, was easy cutting with a butter knife. The waffle was a bit soft, wished it was crispier and would've been easier to pick up with a fork. Regardless, it was still delicious. The service was pretty great, got the food pretty fast and the staff was really accommodating. I'd recommend this place, definitely top in my list for chicken and waffles. Can't wait to try more items on their menu.

What a lovely place. The waiter was very nice, place was a bit small, but cozy. Decent music and it was clean.

Local diner featured on Triple D. It’s a bit out of the way from touristy spots, so you know that it really is a local gem. Came here around noon and the line was long, but somehow we only waited for about 15 minutes. The staff will put your name down on a list along with your party size. Indoor dining only. Credit cards are now accepted. There’s one single occupant restroom by the kitchen. It’s a kid-friendly spot. Portions are huge, so you may considering sharing. The food was delicious. The clam chowder was probably the best I’ve ever eaten in Boston, as there was some sort of thyme/rosemary hint in the soup that added some extra nuance. We got the corned beef hash with our eggs over easy, home fries, and rye toast (pre-buttered). We also got the fried chicken dinner which came with your choice of two sides - we got green beans and fries. The fries were golden and the chicken was super crispy. Service was nice but on the slow side. Overall, a good casual spot when you’re feeling hungry and are wanting some comfort diner food.

Comforting breakfast diner… love it. You show up, write your name down and a piece of paper, and wait for your turn. Tons of food for what you pay for.

100% recommend. Incredible service and a great setting for that authentic diner experience. The portions are ginormous. Just a side portion of pancakes was enough for one person. And it wasn't all about size, the quality was incredible too. This really is a must visit if you are in Boston

Take this with a grain of salt because I’m from New York - the food is average at best. The portions are huge, but it’s nothing to write home about. The eggs are over hard, home fries could stand to be more well done, and the pancakes are plain and lacking flavor.

Great diner! There's a decent amount of available parking on the sides of the road, but beware that the diner is small, so you may have to wait for a free table. If you want to sit at the counter, they have a ton of them available. My omelette was very tasty and the coffee was definitely something higher end, not your average watered down diner coffee. Service was fast given that the restaurant was at capacity and they refilled my coffee quickly, which is important to me. Homefries were a little on the soggy side but I just personally like them to be crisper. Great little place to visit in Boston!

The wait staff were awesome! There was a bit of a wait to be seated, but well worth it. The brunch menu had so much to choose from. We had pictures taken with the wait staff. We DEFINITELY will be returning again soon!

On our way home from Salem we decided to stop in Boston for a light breakfast and visit Fenway Park. Mikes city diner showed up about 10 minutes away from the park. It's not very big, but it gave it a more homey small town vibe which we loved.. we sat at the bar and watched them prepare our meal, our waitress was extremely friendly and me us feel right at home. We ordered a side order of French toast, eggs and bacon. The French toast was more like battered bread sticks and amazing by the way. The amount of food we got for the cost of our meals was unreal. Will definetely stop again if we are in the area.

Incredible amount of food for the price. I had my 'emergency room' meal at about 11am. I'm set for the day with that haha. Friendly staff and the place is spotless.

we went for brunch on saturday and there was a bit of a line but it went quickly. the place is small but super reasonably priced and the portions were huge! i wanted french toast at first, but saw "the pilgrim" on the menu and it reminded me of one of my favorite sandwiches from capriottis called "the bobby" so i had to go for it, and it did not disappoint! I totally recommend coming here for a classic diner experience.

Classic American diner with some upscale menu options (Duck confit hash) near Massachusetts Ave on Washington St. A popular local favorite and its easy to see why with the friendly staff and great food with generous portions and a welcome change to many of the dining options in the South End. I had the Reuben with onion rings, pickle, and some coffee. The Reuben is served on perfectly grilled dark Rye bread that has a nice crisp to it but isn't hard. The real star of this sandwich though is the corned beef which it is loaded with. It is lighter on the kraut than I would have preferred, but that is personal taste. The onion rings were crispy (again without being hard) and were piled high. The pickle is more of a brined cucumber and that cucumber flavor really comes through. The coffee was robust in flavor compared to many you find in dining establishments. Total bill was $25 (minus tip). Overall, a great place for breakfast or lunch and I'll definitely be back!

If you follow me then you know I love a good diner. Mike's was good and I'd go again. I ordered breakfast to eat in and some tips and chicken to go. My eggs were perfect, bacon soft just the way I like it. Homefries were good but could have used some more seasoning. Pancakes were odd and disappointing. They were big and golden so I was initially excited. Then it cut it and took a bite. I almost thought it was not cooked right but the waitress assured me it was. The pancake was very heavy and dense. I've never had a pancake like that and did not like it. The steak tips and chicken entree I ate for dinner. Had enough leftover for breakfast today. Steak tips flavorful and chicken was nice and juicy. I'd definitely go again. As I sat there and the staff passed by with other orders everything looked so good. Huge portions for sure. Friendly staff. No parking available. Must park on street.

These reviews are pathetic! Are people so desperate for a great place they just pretend? I received a order with dirty wet napkins that someone wiped their hands on on top of my food! Immediately got a refund everything was soggy bacon had a hair or else that would have been the only thing edible! As I was preparing to put it all in the trash I said let me take a picture because its worth 1,000 words!!

Food was amazing, atmosphere and people watching fascinating, and staff so friendly and helpful. Can't recommend highly enough! We got clam chowder, corned beef Benedict, and the pilgrim sandwich. All were great!

we stopped here as it was listed as one of the 'must try' places in Boston. we ordered the duck confit hash and the classic eggs benedict, with a blueberry pancake to start. everything was delicious, food came out fast, the service was fast paced, had to ask for a coffee refill (it wasn't just offered) and then had to ask again when she forgot, but, they were busy... so its not the end of the world.

A must go-to spot in the heart of Boston! Every time I travel home, it’s one of my first pit stops. Quality food, fresh and definitely true home diner style cooking! Affordable. Small space with limited seating but worth the wait. Ask for powdered sugar and whipped cream for your pancakes or French toast! The pancakes are bigger than your plate so share! 😆 Love me some Mikes diner! What are you waiting for? Go!
