I had the pleasure of going to dinner with friends at Boston Chops in South End. The decor is dark, rich, and lively. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and very friendly too. We started with their calamari, which was scrumptious, in their thai sweet and spicy sauce, and a small order of pop overs, to start. I ordered the pork chop, and my friends each ordered the filet minion. I paired a glass of Temperanillo with mine. The food was delicious! Their desserts are decadent and thankfully small in proportion. A great place to dine and while away the time with friends.

We decided to try a local steak house, instead of Capitol Grill or Del Fresco's. What an expensive mistake. We ordered Chateaubriand and mashed potatoes. The steak had no taste at all. It was like eating a raw piece of meat with no seasoning at all. The potatoes were cold and were not very good. I know the waiter knew we were disappointed, therefore he never asked how the meal was. We never order any sauces with a good steak. We had to order peppercorn sauce to eat it, and it still was not good. The drinks were excellent though. They should just turn this place into a bar.

Boston Chops is a good steakhouse. Don't be surprised to spend $50-100 on steak, though. The appetizers were fantastic. We ordered onion rings, popovers, and french onion soup. The onion rings were light and airy; the batter was fantastic. They could have used some more salt and pepper though for flavor. The popovers were great—light and buttery. The french onion soup was good, but definitely not worth $19 a cup. The cauliflower parmesan was good, but the pasta was pretty basic. I'm a vegetarian so I didn't eat any steak, but the people with me that got steak said it was good. Overall, Boston Chops was good. The service was great in the beginning but slowed down as the night progressed. We had reservations, which I'd recommend making if you plan on coming here.

Went here for restaurant week and had a delicious experience. The server was super nice and helpful in assisting us to choose a cut of meat and pairing with a wine. Despite this being delicious, I do think there are places with even yummier steaks around Boston, but maybe this is because we had the restaurant week menu selection.

Modern steakhouse with great vibes and exquisite food. As one of the most successful local steakhouses in Boston, Boston Chops offers an amazing experience with quality steaks and exceptional service. Leather banquettes and grand decors inside also present an exclusive and an upscale vibe that parallel its food. My friend and I recently took a visit for a steak dinner and had a superb experience. While looking through the menu, our server recommended that we start off with a small basket of popovers. Served warm and fluffy, their signature popovers were amazing and kept our expectations high for the place. The two standard steakhouse appetizers that followed were also flawlessly executed. Bone marrow special was good as the ones from other high end steakhouses, and the combination of lightly seasoned crab cake and tomato wedges was very satisfying. For the entrée, we shared the tomahawk steak with a side of onion rings. As expected, the wagyu tomahawk steak was delicious and had good amounts of beefy flavors from the fat. Covered in a light and crispy batter, the onion rings were also one of the best I've had in Boston. Only disappointments were their cocktails which came out lukewarm, but the food was good enough to make up for it.

Very delicious steak. We went there during dine-out boston (so a bit cheaper). Try their popovers. You wont regret. We also ordered oxtail croquette & crab cake for the table. The main attraction is the steak. Great seasoning & preparation. Loved the place & service!

Enjoyed a nice night out with my sisters on a Monday night…. Our waiter, Vinny, was awesome. Food and beverage came out at a timely manner and Vinny was very informative. We top the night off with some coffee, cappuccino, and desserts. My Margarita was perfect. Highly recommended to try their steak with the bone marrow. Will definitely return.

It was super good! The only issue we had was the wait times on food. It did take long for us to get our app. The waitress kept apologizing and I completely understand it isn't her fault as a restaurant employee myself. I suggest getting the pop overs as they are one of my favorite apps. The bone marrow (attached photo) is also absolutely fantastic. They have a large selection of wine to pair with your meal as well. Overall I highly recommend if you are looking for a nice end steak house.

We came here because it was one of the few places that could take a group of 11 on Thanksgiving. Everyone at the hotel said we choose well. Our multiple Lyft drivers said we choose well. I can tell you they were all right! Their main courses were wonderful but the sides were Devine. This is a must eat if you are in Boston.

One of the worst experiences at a steakhouse ever. Horrible service. Food was way too overpriced and it actually sucked. I’m going to attach a photo of the 14 oz steak they served me. I think it was 1/2 the weight advertised. A rip off. Also this places charged you for everything. Sauces, bread etc. the steak had no flavor and wasn’t even seasoned with salt or pepper. And it was way under cooked. When I brought this up to the manager. He just brushed the experience off and moved on. A testament to the incompetent bunch running this place. Attached is the pic of the 14oz bone in fillet. There isn’t 7 oz of meat on this thing. Seriously. I was done in 4 bites.

Amazing steak! We ordered the three tomahawk steaks to share between a group of six. Also good options for sides to go with the meat. Nice choice of wines and great dirty martini’s.

Great date night, expect to throw down $$$ but also have a great dining and wine experience. I got the porterhouse special, the one that’s already sliced up for me by the chef. It was meant for 2 people but I always like a challenge. (I did not finish). Great birthday dinner

The service was Top Tier. The waiter was very knowledgeable about meals & drinks. The meals were tasty and cooked to specification. I love my steak well done and thanks to the recommendation of the waiter ( bald guy, beard looks like he gyms) I had the Bavette Steak. It was superb and yet soft ( not like shoe leather) as I'm always told when I order well done steak. Drinks were flavourful.

Oysters were great and the shrimps were really good. Steaks were 7.5/10, and in previous visit’s they have exceeded this rating. Maybe a little too overpriced

I came to Boston Chops for Dine out Boston restaurant week. For the appetizer I got the oxtail croquettes. My entrée I ordered Bavette steak with Mashed potatoes and greens. The dessert was Sticky toffee pudding with rum raisin ice cream. I would highly recommend for a date night.

Probably my favorite steak house in Boston if you are just looking for a simple steak done to perfection. No bone marrow butter or special sauces or marinades, just great steaks cooked perfectly. Also they have the best popovers

First time in Boston, first Steak House we tried in Boston. This place did not disappoint. Food was great. Service was on point. Draft beers were refreshing. Unfortunately no room for desert. Recommend if you're in Boston. Buisness casual

Had dinner and came away pretty disappointed. Started with oysters that were small and not worth the $4 that each cost. I’ve had better $1 oysters at other restaurants in the city so I was expecting more from the higher price tag. The person I was with ordered a fillet mignon that was tasteless. The arugula salad that came with it was delicious but I thought the fries that came with it were an odd pairing for what seemed like a high end steak house. I got the prime rib eye (medium rare) and wasn’t too impressed. It was made well but it came with no sides and there was nothing about it that justified the $69 price tag. I wanted to give a local steakhouse a chance but I think I might stick with higher end chains that offer more consistency and better bang for your buck. I should also mention that our steaks took 30 minutes to come out of the kitchen. Service was good enough but I could tell there was a shift in the waitresses mood when we weren’t ordering drinks. Dessert menu looked good but I was afraid to order & wait another 30 min for it to come out….

We dined here for the first time for my husbands birthday. The atmosphere was nice. The tables are a little too close for my liking. We ordered Thai Chili and Sweet Soy Calamari, NY Strip, Chicken under a brick, Spicy Broccoli and mac and cheese for sides. The Calamari was delicious perfect blend of sweet and spicy. The Chicken was flavorful and the risotto delicious. My husband was content with his steak, although he says he's had better. The mac and cheese was not our favorite and the Spicy broccoli was flavorful.

Great experience! Steak was cooked to perfection and service was fantastic from start to finish. Great atmosphere too. Highly recommend this spot for a date night/special occasion. Our waiter Vinny was fantastic, attentive, and very knowledgeable.

We had a Fantastic Steak dinner here on our final night in Boston. We started with Potatoes Bravas, then we had a fillet and rib eye steak. Both were delicious and cooked perfectly. Too full for a desert. Our server was superb (sorry I can't remember your name) he easily told us what menu items were Gluten Free.
