Some of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten… hands down. When I visit Boston this is a required stop. I recently visited with my kids….. there take away statement “I ruined all sandwiches moving forward”. Because nothing was going to be that good. If for now other reason…. Simply go and smell the place…. The aroma of sharp provolone and fresh bread is incredible.

Yes, yes, and yes. Monica's had the absolute best sandwiches. They were huge, the bread was perfect, the meats were flavorful and tender. One of our favorite meals during our vacation here, and we had a looot of good food.

I love this place. The footlong sandwich’s they serve are fantastic. It’s an old school place in the North End. I usually eat half for lunch and save the other half for later. The steak tip and Italian are my favorite.

Ignore all these pessimists. The bread is devine. On the Italian the meats melt in your mouth. Note though that pretty much everything has red onions on it so proceed as nesscessary. Also most have balsamic. Favs were the Italian, caprese ...wish it came standard with hots, meatball. Chicken cutlet was too dry. 5 stars for the bread and Italian but I love red onions. The service was good but everyone in the shop seemed confused about how, where to order, where to pick up and where to pay. Some more signage would help though everyone seemed happy enough to socialize and ask around. I'll report back if I find a less expensive equivalent version.

Great subs! There're lots of option, I tried the Italian and loved it. The sandwiches are big, and are cut in half. I think one sub can be enough for 2.

Hands down best chicken park and italalian sub I’ve got in years. I’m picky with my Italians so I usually don’t get then cause I get let down, the meat is a perfect ratio and thinly sliced. The balsamic and the hots mixing with the lettuce/tomato is perfect, it has an amazing flavor, not plain tasting like other Italians. Also the bread can’t be beat when you bite into it you know it’s quality. The chicken parm is my go to sandwich and their sauce/cheese/chicken checked all the boxes . I’m ashamed it took me 32 years of my life to try this place.

My husband loved the chicken parmesan sub he got. We waited in line for a while and then waited for the sub even longer- He said it was worth the wait. The staff were very busy and appeared efficient in fulfilling the many orders they filled while we were there. Staff were nice. Great set up for ordering on one side and paying in the next room. Very limited spacing, really just room to wait in line. There is no where to sit down while waiting or to sit to eat.

This was hands down the best Italian sub I’ve ever had hands down. Let’s start by talking about the homemade sub roll it explode with flavor so chewy. The meat is sliced fresh to order and paper thin. Some of the best sandwich meat I’ve ever tasted. The sandwich is one size and large enough for the two of us to share. Was it on the pricey side yes… just shy of 20 dollars was it worth it YES would I buy it again Absolutely!

Amazing fresh made to order subs. The Italian was the best sub I’ve had in my life. Fresh crust roll and filled with toppings.

The hype is real. This deli looks authentic. I haven't been to Italy but being in Little Italy and being the ONLY deli with a line down the street should speak volumes. The variety and being able to watch them make everything fresh makes it so much more appetizing. Due to Covid we sat on the street and ate it. I LOVE cold cut sammys. Especially Italian. My cousin wasn't hungry and didn't want to eat a ton but, "couldn't stop eating." I killed it as well. Definitely one of my favorite of all time. Unfortunately I live in CA. Recommend for anyone in the area.

EXCELLENT Italian subs. I tried the caprese sandwich and my friend got the steak tip salad. It is SO much food (at minimum two meals per sub/salad) and really tasty. Other reviews have mentioned the bread and they’re right - it’s really tasty.

Great Italian Sub! One of the best I've ever had. Great place to grab lunch after a freedom tour. No seating at deli but walk a few blocks and eat at Rachel Revere park.

One of the best Italian subs I have every had. The meat was fresh and very tasty. The sub was very large and I could barely finish it. Could have easily split it with my girlfriend and would have been enough for the both of us

When you walk in the door you know you are in for a treat. The aroma immediately sets the bar high, and the food meets the expectations. One sandwich will easily feed two. There was no seating at least when I was there for lunch, but I saw other places with limited to no seating, so this may be common in that area of town. Salem street is beautiful narrow street that leads the restaurant.

I ordered an Italian and split it. I was definitely full after just half. The meat was high quality and they put plenty of it on the sandwich. The bread was slightly crispy yet easy to eat. I was overall pleased with the exception of the price which was $18.

Go for the Italian sandwiches - several looked great, but we enjoyed the original. It's cut fresh, and big enough for two lunches. Otherwise, a small local market with craft beer and an Italian deli. Pizza and the chicken Parm didn't look great, but the Italian was probably the best of that style I've had.

Truly delicious Italian sub. I can’t speak for anything else but the Italian sub is amazing. I went here alone at lunch time when I visited Boston last. There is no seating. It’s just a deli counter. There was also very little wait - maybe 2 people on front of me on a Friday.

You look at the price and think it may be expensive for a sandwich, but let me tell you… You’re paying for a 2 person portion and even then you will walk out full after the fantastic Italian sandwiches. Definitely recommend!! Everything is super fresh and flavourful.

Absolutely the best sandwiches. I think the fresh bread is one reason they are so good in addition to the expert thin slicing. Definitely sandwiches big enough to share.

This place has very high quality and authentic ingredients. Many of their items are actually imported directly from Italy. Small, nice atmosphere, and good food. The prices are quite high, and they don’t offer half subs, but you do get what you pay for.

Best subs in town. Great service, real time sliced meat onto the fresh baked bread. Doing Italian subs justice. Worth $20 all day!

Hands down the best sammy I’ve ever had! If there was one thing to try while in Boston, I would seriously recommend going to Monica’s for one of their handmade subs! My friends and I visited on October 23, 2023 and each tried a different sub. I had the rosemary turkey sub which was sublime. All of my friends raved and universally agreed it was the best sandwiches we’ve ever had. All of the ingredients are fresh, locally sourced and produced, and top quality. Expect a line out the door so be prepared to wait. Excellent bakery next door for dessert and espresso cafe kitty corner to top it off. Price point was $18 a sandwich. Salads and soup are also available. I will revisit again and suggest anyone visiting Boston must visit.
