We were in the area and starving and randomly found this absolute Polish gem! To be completely honest, the area it’s located in is seemingly sketchy. However it’s totally worth stopping by for the delightful staff and tasty bites. The inside decor is beautiful- featuring unique solid wood furniture, real table flowers, and polish tchotchkes. Our waiter was very attentive and made menu recommendations. There are plenty of alcohol, coffee, and juice drink options to try as well as desserts. The food menu is a decent size and the prices are incredible for the quality and portion size being offered. They really could charge more! We started our meal with bread brought to the table and we ordered the pickle soup which I highly recommend. Following that my partner and I split the Gypsy Pancake and the Polish Plate. Both dishes tasted fresh and crafted with love. Make no mistake this is definitely comfort food, so arrive with a big appetite. If you’re in the area, you gotta check this one out!

Delicious, authentic Polish food. The food here will be a hit with Polish and non-Polish diners alike, from amazing smoked sausages to rich cheese-filled dumplings. Decor is adorable and service prompt and attentive. We can't wait to come back!

I have never had Polish food before "officially" "exclusively" anyway so I don't have anything to compare directly. However, this place was excellent. I got a pickle soup and a sampler plate. Then for dessert a Polish red wine. Good stuff!!!

Went looking for something not available at home (since I was in Boston for business) - Found this outstanding Polish Restaurant. The Polish Plate was very tasty and just the right amount of a good variety of Polish dishes.

Could not be happier with my experience. The food was authentic and delicious, the beer selection was excellent, and the service was fast, polite, and helpful. We ordered half the menu and each dish was better than the last! Will be coming back time and again, dziękuję!

I met this place through a polish friend and the place is simply amazing! Is a tiny and comfy restaurant nearby the t station! They have wifi and restroom inside! The food is really good! I love all the things that I've tried! Whe order the Highlander smoked cheese (appetizer) is only two peaces of cheese with jelly on top! It's really tasteful. We also ordered the polish plate that comes with stuffed cabbage, pierogies, and kielbasa and some dumplings! The price is really fair!

What a great friendly place with amazing food. Rode bikes over to this area on our trip to Boston unknowing what it would be like. Pleasantly surprised! Great service and legit food. Get the pierogies. The mulled wine was so good and like nothing I’ve had. We really enjoyed this stop. One of our favorites on a tour up the coast from NYC to Maine.

Awesome Polish food!! It’s the only Polish restaurant in Boston. Very authentic potato pancakes with sour cream, goulash, sauerkraut, beets, and Polish bread. Great service. It was our 2nd time. We will go again soon.

Amazing restaurant. I went to this restaurant in 2012 with my coworkers. The food was very very delicious. The server was very nice and accommodating. I loved the same of small family restaurants. It gives you sense that the cook really prepares the food with love and care. The place is small so it better for small parties. It’s close to the train which makes it very convenient. Can’t wait to go back!

You don't have to be Polish to enjoy this food; it's just GOOD! My friend and I had potato pierogi, the fresh kielbasa, and the shish kabob kielbasa. These were excellent, plus our app of pickle soup. Staff was warm and friendly.

Incredible food. A near flawless experience from beginning to end. We got the potato pancakes and Polish Plate sampler—everything was honestly perfect. Best cabbage roll I’ve ever had, most perfectly cooked Kielbasa I’ve ever had. We also tried blueberry pierogis and the chocolate lava cake for dessert. Short of going to Poland, I think this is about as good as it gets as far as polish food goes.

We walked in 50 mins before closing. The server communicated clearly that we need to be fast, but didn’t rush us, which is appreciated. The food was AMAZING. I’m not experienced with Polish cuisine. Our server recommended the Polish Plate that included 3 different dishes. With the kitchen staff probably tired and ready to go home, they DELIVERED 🙌🏻 with perfection. Got the smoked salmon potato pancake for appetizer and it was delicious! Crispy yet not oily! Highly recommend. The kielbasa was crispy and juicy. The sauerkraut was not overpowering which I loved. The Hunter’s Soup is actually not a soup lol, but sort of a meat loaf with tomato sauce. The pierogi was less eventful but I liked all 3 in the dish. The dessert pierogi with sweet cheese gave me a new found appreciation for sour cream (the dipping sauce). I’d eat that everyday and not get bored. Overall this is a hidden neighborhood gem. Highly recommend. Will come back!

Amazing authentic Polish cuisine just like my mom and grandma used to make. Wonderful, friendly service and adorable decor. Sought this place out while in town for business and it did not disappoint. The goulash was very tender and flavorful with a perfectly seasoned sauce and fresh mushrooms. The potato pancakes were deliciously crispy on the outside and melted in your mouth on the inside. Pierogi dough was handmade from scratch and perfect thickness and consistency. The cheese blintzes were also prepared to perfection, using sweetened farmers cheese. Truly exceptional quality and hospitality. Thank you for a great experience.

Such a cozy restaurant with a wonderful selection of Polish soul food! The decor reminds me of Zakopane. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in Boston so I can get my fix!

The food it is amazing!!! The polish dish with all the different options is the best plate. The pickle soup it is something different to all I tried before and it is amazingly delicious. The desserts are fresh and it melts on your mouth. The attention of the people who work in the restaurant is really good, they are nice and kind. Definitely one of the best places I've been and will always recommend 👌

Very small but quaint. Reservations are a must. Staff were very friendly and service was good. Food was really good too. We started with Salmon and Caviar which was to die for. Our dinners were great. The kielbasa was my favorite. My husband loved it all! Sadly, we were too full for dessert.

  • 4/5 Clare K. 4 years ago on Google
Nice find. The food was delicious and authentic and reasonably priced. The missing star is for the dessert menu: though there's an otherwise nice selection of authentic Polish food, there's not a single Polish dessert on the menu. Worse, they actually try to pass off a generic chocolate volcano cake for babka. The babka listed on the dessert menu turned out to be neither babka nor anything remotely Polish. At least call it what it is.

It was my roommate's decision to visit this place. Since he is a Polish decedent & knew most of the items on the food menu. As I was flying the next morning I wanted to have something light. So he suggested me to order Kielbasa Sausage for appetizer & Potato Pancake for my main course and he ordered the Hunter's soup. The Kielbasa Sausage with mustard was delicious & is a must have. Overall the food was delicious, flavorful & light. The ambience & customer service was on point.

Despite some noticeable gentrification since I lived here 20 years ago, the neighborhood remains a bit rough, and working class. But the food and the service is excellent, and I love the home built furniture, and Polish decorations. It was also nice to speak in Polish in Boston

The food was amazing. I couldn't decide which polish standard I wanted, so I got the sampler player, and everything was amazing. They even serve really good Polish beer! This small restaurant is definitely a unique find and I'll definitely be back with friends next time I'm in the South Boston area.

I LOVE this place!!! Family run, good home cooked hearty Polish meals. The mushroom peirogi is my favorite. The cabbage rolls are huge and delicious. The hunters stew is super tasty. Fresh Polish rye comes to the table (buy a loaf around the corner at Euromart!) The Polish plate has a taste if the best, and it's a generous portion...so come hungry! Service is great. It's just a great place. We come once a year (we live out of state) and are never disappointed.

We were not real hungry and Cafe Polonia had good review rating and was short drive from our hotel. My sister ordered Salmon pancake appetizer and I had sausage with grilled onions, bell peppers and mushrooms. Both were really good and was more than we could eat. It's a small place with about 8-10 tables. They were pretty busy for Monday night, but didn't have to wait to be seated. I have to have gluten free and they had items that I could eat. We will definitely come here again when back in Boston.

Cafe Polonia offers a truly authentic atmosphere, with nice wooden tables and much traditional decor. As a central European, I was surprised how much it reminded me of home. The Polish beer and food tasted great, and the warm chocolate cake was a pure delight. They even got the whipped cream right!

Despite the Guy Fiery poster and stuff, which I've never watched, the food here is amazing!!! I wish they had one of those closer to my neighborhood, but it's nice to drive there once or twice a year for an authentic Eastern European meal. Everything I've ever eaten there is delicious
