Joe's truly feels like a Boston seafood experience! Everything from the nautical decor to the seafood based menu is great! You must try the warm lobster roll here or the fish and chips. Both dishes were delicious! Our waiter (Aris) was also very attentive and served us with a smile! Definitely recommend checking this place out!

I really enjoyed my visit to this restaurant. We ate outside in the patio. Some shade would’ve been nice, but there were no tables for two with an umbrella available. Service was good, and I enjoyed the food lots too. Would definitely go again if in the area!

I ate outside here for dinner and overall had a pleasant experience. For an appetizer, we got the spinach and artichoke dip. While the dip was warm and delicious, the tortilla chips they gave us were definitely stale. For my entree, I ordered the Cure burger which was quite good. Definitely makes its way high up on my burger list. It was around this time we realized we were never given bread, which was definitely annoying. Overall a good time, but still a couple of misses on the restaurant's part.

Went here for lunch with a big group and we sat in the corner looking out at the waterfront which was amazing. The staff were really nice and accommodating. They moved two tables together for us to help us fit a large party. However, the food was good not great. My favorite dish was the creamy clam chowder cup. They do not have hot buttered lobster rolls and the cold roll was very small for the price with few fries. The cessation salad was very salty and drenched in dressing. The nachos were delicious though.

Nice environment, the staff is very pleasant and attentive. I called to make a reservation that we were on the way with kids and we got seated right away. It took alittle long for the waitress to come to our table but after she took the order the food came out pretty quickly. The food was ok, I was expecting more. We had the Crab-Crusted Haddock and the Captain's Platter, both dishes were little bland. The tartar sauce saved the day. The kids (2 - 6 year olds) shared the Stake Tips Dish they said it wasn't good, the stake had a little sweet taste to it. They offer kids free icream.

We stopped on our own self-directed food tour. Food was good. Service was a bit lacking. Atmosphere is nice - right on the water. We wanted to sit outside but there was no shade so we opted for an inside table (still a nice view). We just had appetizers and drinks so I can't speak to most of the dishes. Clean bathrooms.

We arrived here randomly, from our long walk down Beacon St. to the waters edge, and we actually just strolled in without a reservation and scored a real nice table for two outside...no wait, right on the waters edge! Wow!! It became a tad chilly, also the servers quickly lit up the heat lamps. Nice... We ordered the clam chowder and Caesar salad which was the best Caesar we've had in a while. Our main dish was the crab-crusted haddock and the mushroom juicy lucy, (love the name, enjoyed the sandwich even more!), And it's a great vegetarian option if you like. Both were outstanding! Our very cold and tasty draft beers were so refreshing, especially after walking. Our server was hustling as best he could, it was quite crowded, but he still found time for polite smalltalk. We closed the place down, as it was soooo relaxing watching the light change...and the city lights glistening on the water...awww! Great way to end a great day!

Really nice dining experience! I found the prices remarkable reasonable given the water front location. David and I especially enjoyed the lobster topped nachos. The vegan bowl I had for my entree was well prepared and David loved his oyster selection. Everyone in our dining party enjoyed their meals as well. The service was a bit lacking but it was NYE too.

Wonderful atmosphere sitting outside. The food was delicious and presented well. Would definitely return here the next time I’m in town. Pics: crab crusted haddock, lobster roll, spinach dip and french onion soup.

This place is a 5 out of 5. Food is a little pricey, but worth every penny. The place is classy. Staffs were great too. Will be coming back.

Came here for brunch. We got lobster Benedict, smoked salmon, crabcake Benedict, espresso martinis and bloody Mary. I have to say this has been one of the best brunches I have had. The views are great too. Ask to be seated by the window if possible. Would come back again. Update: the food is just as good as it was a few months ago

I do believe the prices are a bit high for what you get but the food is on the higher end of the good side. I got the shrimp cocktail that I found to be very expensive for four shrimp and a salad with grilled chicken. The shrimp tasted like shrimp and that’s about all I can say about that - nothing special. You’re basically paying $5 per shrimp. The salad was pretty good though. The food came out very quickly and the staff was equally great. Considering the prices I probably won’t be back, however.

Really good brunch/ lunch. My burger was great and my partner had the lobster roll which was good. Fast and friendly service, only problem was the fries were not great. Beautiful spot

The food and drinks were good. All my coworkers said their food was good too. The buffalo chicken dip was awesome! The only thing is the broccoli was not steamed or cooked all the way, so it was close to raw broccoli. The sauce on my chicken and broccoli ziti was a little more runny than I like but overall good. Taste was of quality. The drinks were really good. I had the Fla-Mango Bubbly and it was delicious. Overall a good experience and would recommend having a bite here.

Pretty disappointed with the service but the food made up for it. We didn't have a wait when we went 5:00 on a Sunday, but our waiter was SO inattentive. It was terrible honestly. I'm not going to go into details since the service at restaurants can be hit or miss depending on who you get. There were lots of staff running around so I'm guessing our guy was just new or something. Either way, I had the gluten free mac and cheese and it was AMAZING. The manager brought out my food herself and confirmed it was the gluten free allergy version, which I always appreciate. I was a little worried when I only saw 3 or 4 things indicated gluten free on the menu and no mention of gluten free pasta or bread, but I read on their website they had those things. When I asked the waiter he said almost anything can be made gluten free, so the mac and cheese was it! I also had the parmesan truffle fries which were good fries but nothing to write home about. My husband got a burger and it was cooked to temperature. If I was a local I would definitely try this place again in hopes for better service.

It wasn't bad but not great either. High priced tavern food. Service was decent; I was hoping to get some nachos to start, but passed for 14.50 without any meat. My fish tacos were pretty good and one of the few appetizers not priced through the roof at 8. My buffalo chick mac and cheese was okay. The tang from the hot sauce over powered it. It didn't taste like anything else but tangy hot sauce. In the end I would probably try another place

CHOOOOOW-DAAAAH Sometimes you just want a warm bowl of clam chowder & a beautiful view - I came, I saw & I conquered (half) a bread bowl of chowder. The rest of my friends helped me enjoy a dozen oysters, the shellfish platter appetizer & some delicious drinks. We were lucky enough to have a table with a view of the boat dock and the sun setting. Good food & friends make me come back time and time again!

Solid lunch spot! Views of the water and park. Sat upstairs and was cozy and lively. The muscles were very good and a great amount for the price, would definitely recommend. The oyster appetizer was fresh and spot on. Had some fun cocktails to enjoy the meal.

Amazing staff. Mussels are in a white wine then almost charred, giving a slightly Smokey flavor that you’ll die for. Lobster is cooked to perfection alongside the filet mignon. Just sit at the bar and enjoy the ride!

Get a reservation and get ready for a great night. Best views of the water and relaxing atmosphere. Recommend the half ribs or lobster roll. My wife didn’t understand why I ordered ribs at a restaurant on the ocean…until they perfectly fell off the bone. Definitely worth getting.

It was a perfect day to eat outside by the water. Our service was EXCELLENT. Very patient and informative. The steak tips were delicious but I wish they served more. The Calamari was tender and crunchy. My wife enjoyed her Portobello sandwich. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Great food, great location, and great service! The Brussel sprout appetizer was exceptional and the honey chicken salad was delicious. The outdoor dining is very pet friendly; they will bring water out for your dog and there is even a separate menu for them.

The food was so great, we even had to add to our order after seeing how delicious some of the appetizers looked as they were brought out to other tables. The food also came pretty quickly. To top it off, our server was very pleasant. A great spot on the water, with buskers near by for some fun entertainment. Pictured here is the crab-crusted haddock - 10/10 recommend

We dropped by for drinks and snacks... Luckily there's bar seating and we ordered some beers, clam chowder and oysters. The prices were a bit high for oysters but they were fresh. The cup of clam chowder is good too. It's a good place for sea views and good food. The prices are a bit high but it's a great fallback in case other restaurants are packed.

We ordered clam chowder cups - good except having bacon. Also got Bouillabaisse (sea food mix in vegetable broth) for lunch (from the dinner menu) - pretty good. And Bloody Mary / no ice (not in menu either) So got full and happy.

Great way to end a day of site seeing . Husband ate the lobster roll (warm ) and bread pudding both were delicious and he would get again . I had a wine spritzer and crab chunk appetizer. Perfect for a lighter selection. Ate outside with view of water and enjoyed the atmosphere.

This location left me overall dissatisfied. The nachos were pretty good, but gave a meager serving of guacamole. The burger seemed pre frozen and too greasy, although the fries were delicious. The seared ahi tuna salad seemed like that just added soy sauce to lettuce. The sangria was sweet and strong.

Great restaurant in one of the nicest areas of Boston. They offer outdoor (wait was up to 50min on Sunday lunch) and indoor service (we were seated immediately). Service was up to standards, and both the chicken BLT and lobster roll we ordered were delicious. I would recommend this place for your lunch/dinner while visiting the beautiful Boston waterfront.

Best clam chowder I had while visiting. The boneless wings and steak tip entre (served with cherry pepper relish) with loaded mashed potatoes did not disappoint to say the least as well! Well worth the visit despite parking hassle.

So glad Joe was open on thanksgiving day while most restaurants were closed. We tried a bunch of seafood options and they did not disappoint. I especially like the crab meat in the shellfish platter and the Maine lobster is great.

From the service to the food, this was an unbelievable dining experience! Our waiter, Timothy, was amazing! His witty banter brought an element of fun to our meal. The Chili Lime Chicken Salad was fresh, crisp and the perfect balance of sweet, tangy and spicy. The blackened Sea Bass was good to the last bite. The fish sandwich can be ordered fried, grilled or blackened (blackened was a fabulous coice). Be sure to finish off the meal with a dessert. The seven layer chocolate cake and skillet cookie will not disappoint (and the servings are big enough to share). From start to finish Joe's was a Five Star experience!

I live nearby and so gave this place a couple of tries but the really, really poor service coupled with only average food is really not worth it. I prefer Sail Loft next door - much, much better in both respects.

I loved the food there starting from their signature chowders soup served in a bread bowl to their tasty lobster roll and shrimp. Pretty good food. Had the New York strip and it was amazing. Service was not too bad. For a place that’s surrounded by A LOT of Italian restaurants. This one was very nice. Little pricey but food is very good and a nice view too.

Our waitress messed up a couple of things and was a little meh, but not too bad. The man who actually brought the food over was hilarious. The food was absolutely amazing. Had the "Big State" burger and nachos.

They need to change the frying oil more frequently. My fried fish platter (with cod, calamari, and shrimp) was very oily. Do not waste $22 on this. We could not eat more than two bites. Besides, the fish and chips that my sister ordered was hyper hard to eat. We spent 50 dollars and had to leave the plate almost intact. The service was fine, but the kitchen was of poor quality.

  • 4/5 D C. 4 years ago on Google
Joe's as a whole is like a TGI Fridays, but this location is great. Its next to the waterfront and the food is very good. I have the french dip every time I go with a Boston Brick Red beer and I am a happy girl. Be ware that on weekends and sunny days this place is heaving. Make a reservation if your going with a group! Otherwise its good.

The food was SO DELICIOUS! And as an absolute bonus, the staff was incredibly kind and happy, the atmosphere is wonderful, drinks are 100% and there a great waterfront view from inside and out! And a great view of Boston! This is a great place to go for date night, family dinner, girls night out, or like me- a lil self-date dinner!
