Very interesting piece of history. There were several people on board but no lines or waiting really. Great view of the surrounding water, docks, and boats from the deck. I really with we could have gone into sections above and below the main deck but they were all roped off

A beautiful naval fighter ship "Destroyer" Vast history from WWII, only main deck is open, bottom deck and upper deck is out of bound. Need at least 30-40mins to see complete, strollers and wheelchair are not allowed. All tour is self guided, they do have guided tour by specific time and set number of people can join.

This is a great place to go! If you are a WWII junkie, you’ll love it here. I think even those who aren’t into WWII will have a great time here. We had a guided tour from a park ranger where we got to go down into the inside of the ship. It was humbling to see the living conditions and to think about all the people who gave their lives for freedom. Highly recommend!

At the Navy Yard in Charlestown lie the USS Constitution and the USS Cassin Young. We got there on a lovely crisp fall day. It is a beautiful sight worth a visit. Both ships can be entered (after security inspection). You can also get a water cab to the North End, and there is a small bar overlooking the water. The Navy Yard is on the Freedom Trail, making it very easy and convenient for tourists. I can highly recommend the Freedom Trail and the Navy Yard, followed by a water cab to the North End for a wet lunch.

A fun explore after the USS Constitution. Both are free. Unfortunately, due to covid, only the upper deck was open and it was very limited. But still a great explore!

A super quick walk from the USS Constitution, the USS Cassin Young is another historical masterpiece you can visit. It was very interesting to see the technology that was implemented in the USS Cassin and the tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely recommend stopping by here if you have the time!

Awesome ship right next to the USS Constitution. After touring the Constitution I was walking around and heard a tour being announced for the Cassin Young. It was free and took walk ins. I decided to take the tour and it was awesome. The tour guide took us through the ship and was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Parts of the ship are accessible to those not on a tour, but I highly recommend taking the tour. Great way to spend an hour or so learning about the history of the ship and the wars it took part in.

I'm so glad we toured the USS Constitution and noticed the USS Cassin Young right next door! This World war II era destroyer is a wonderful example of the war that was fought to preserve our freedoms and to liberate Europe and Eastern Asia from their oppressors. I pray we never become oppressors.

A very cool museum! Visit on a sunny day because you'll want to spend time on the deck peering down the barrels of the anti aircraft turrets. There is so much information about the ships history and operation in such a small space. It's worth a visit any time you're in the area.

Well preserved WWII destroyer. The main deck was only thing open due to heat. Would've been a five had the park rangers not had an attitude.

Anyone who is a WWII history buff needs to stop here. Ship is pretty much open so you are able to see all rooms and quarters.

A nice ship to visit that allows you to explore three different decks. The ship puts you into the shoes of sailors during the colonial era, as you descend to lower and lower floors, you become more and more cramp. The lower floors also lead to more humidity...so beware of that. On a hot day I wouldn't recommend staying long. Still, a great exhibit that efficiently teaches you about history without the need of words.

Free. Pretty neat experience to go on the ship. There are free tours if you have a 45 minute commitment. If you don’t take the tour all you get is the top deck. There is a 20 MM anti aircraft gun you can grab ahold of and feel what it would be like with a Japanese plane coming in.

These historical treasures are definitely a somber reminder of sacrifices of the past - but also of a country that invented, manufactured and out produced any other country in the world at a time when it needed to.

Great staff! Among them Ms. Maryann has been a joy to my nine year old Ryan, she showed him around and explained about the radio! (Spoiler alert, it still works but not on a frequency commonly used anymore), among many other things. I appreciate her kindness, patience, and the good heart to make a strange kid happy! Thank you Maryann!

Enjoyed looking around this ship. The displays were done well and personally, I love the smell of old metal!! Not a long walk through, probably took about an hour.

A very cool specimen of the Navy's history and a great place to visit after the USS Constitution, the disparity between the two ships is amazing. The smells are very immersive.

One of the few Fletcher Class Destroyers left. Inside the ship was closed because of covid but it was still cool to walk the deck.

Really interesting ship although due to covid , some parts are closed , admission is free and really great area to hang around in .

A nice piece of history to visit. It was worth the walk to see after visiting the Constitution. It was busy, but it was a spacious enough ship where it didn't feel crowded.

The USS Cassin Young is one of 4 existing examples a Fletcher Class destroyer of the 175 produced during WWII. It’s free to visit! It’s in great condition and there are docents who can answer your questions but there isn’t a guided tour. The tour I took only allows you to access the main deck and superstructure.

It's a ship. Interesting place to visit if you're into naval history and architecture.

Easy self guided tour. Only negative aspect was the inability to explore anthing but the main deck.
