Cool spot to take photos with kids. We saw many families gather here to take a picture of their child riding the duck statue and it was the cutest sight! Awesome place to check out, the gardens too it’s so beautiful here!

It's a group of statues in the beautiful Boston public garden. Everyone loves them, especially the kids. Heads up if you want to take pictures, plan in some wait time till it's your turn. They do get dressed up for special holidays.

I loved this book as a child. It is still a favorite. I love that the sucks are dressed for St Patrick's Day! I absolutely had to come here once I knew we were stopping in Boston.

Cute sculpture to visit and revisit. The ducks wear different clothes depending on the time of the year so each visit is unique. Sitting in the beautiful Boston public garden and beacon hill neighborhood, the atmosphere is always chill and relaxing.

The bronze duck “ 🦆” statues beautifully crafted and at times decorated for special events or holidays. This photo shows one entrance of the Public Gardens where the statues are, * about 100 feet in at the corner of Charles and Beacon Street. Also, 10 minute walking distance away is the Hatch Shell or a playground at the Charles River. To get to the river, just cross over the Arthur Fieldler bridge by the corner of Arlington and Beacon Street. The duckling story plaque is nexts to the playground. * A option if you have children. Bathrooms are scarce. There is one behind the Hatch-Shell 10 minutes walk away at the Charles River, but this is 2 portable out-house.

This is a favorite corner of the Boston Public Garden for me, even though it's a lot of other people's favorite, too. (I tend to prefer off the beaten path/ hidden gems!) I love seeing a children's book immortalized and the children and adults alike who come to enjoy this reminder to help protect those who need our protection. A reminder that there is value in putting others needs and safety before our own desires. Over the years, I've seen many accessories on and near these ducks. These masks and signs and flowers during COVID-19 are some of my favorites.

The statue, composed of a total of 9 elements: the mother duck, followed by 8 ducklings is located inside the park. It is well kept and is accompanied by a small representative plaque. The access to the park is free and, therefore, also the view of the statue. Depending on the time of year or the holiday, these cute little ducks are decorated with objects.

🦆A Must-See (Read the Book Before you Visit!)🦆 This adorable series of larger-than-life statues based on the award-winning book "Make Way for Ducklings" can be found in Boston's Public Gardens. They're a popular attraction with kids and adults alike, so expect to either wait a short time for your photo, or arrive during slower times to get an unobstructed photo of the duckling family in a row. Around the holidays, the ducks are arrayed in festive attire (which I was fortunate enough to get some photos of). Each duckling is sculpted with a unique personality. If you're planning a trip to the Public Gardens, I recommend reading the children's book in preparation (especially if visiting with kids).

Nice sculpture in Boston's Public Garden. Go before 10 am, and you'll have it for yourself! At this time of year (early December) the ducklings were dressed in Christmas clothes!!!!

Super cute sculpture with a neat backstory. Located in a beautiful park - great spot for cute photos, especially with kids! The little ones loved playing around the ducks & one family had their kids sit on the ducks for a photo it was adorable!

Adorable sculpture worth stopping to see. There is cheap metered parking on Charles street (the road that runs between the public garden and the Boston commons) so you don't have to pay for a garage if you can find a spot there.

They're ducks. Sometimes stylishly dressed. Kids love them. Look out for aggressive panhandling squirrels.

My parents read me this book all the time when I was a kid. The plaque here claims that the book familiarized children with the garden and it did. Even never having been here before I knew about the swan boats and duck Island. Very cute. Many people in line for pics though. We got to see live ducks next to the statue.

Adorable little statues for the Make Way For Ducklings children's book. Love that these little babies are still here for all ages to enjoy. When I went, there were bananas on the ducklings, so sometimes there are small surprises when you visit.

They are so cute to look at, adorable. The park itself is so so beautiful and you can actually see ducks around this place. Relaxing even in the evening after it’s dark.

Walked thru the Boston Public Garden to see this beautiful sculpture. Lots of tourists taking pictures here. One adorable child was smiling and petting the mother duck statue while his Mom snapped photos and chatted with me.

These ducklings are iconic, and they get the love they deserve. It's worth it to stop by to see them, if only to see how they're dressed on any given day.

Small series of statues in one spot. Must see for fans of the book as is iconic. Would not go out of way to see a statue but if you are in the Commons definitely must go atleast once!

I couldn't resist stopping by these adorable ducklings while on my Freedom Trail journey. You don't need to be a kid to enjoy the sheer workmanship put into each duckling and mom.

Favorite sculpture in my favorite Boston Park. Kids and adults like them, and each season they dress them in different outfits. The cuttest.

If this is a landmark that has generated your interest then you have been through the majestic and beyond amazing Boston Commons to find this creation. It’s Adored by kids and my friend had to wait to get her shots. It’s fun to try angles to get all the ducklings in a row. There are real ducks nearby in the pond as well. Beware the chipmunks, they had a grudge against my friend for some reason.

  • 5/5 Jane K. 3 years ago on Google
Cute! The sweaters on the ducks are appropriate to the weather, and make this spot in the garden even better. The bench in front of the statues are nice for a rest while looking out upon the statue.

Make Way for Ducklings is a beautiful experience at any age. The art brings on immediate smiles, strangers talk to each other, help take photos of others and laugh along with the kids. The ducklings are often dressed up in sports team gear or wearing items reflecting social issues. This is art that prompts interactions and it’s fabulous!
