Parla is a great spot for good cocktails. The food is very good unless you are a vegan/vegetarian. It doesn't offer many options for vegan/vegetarian. Otherwise great pasta and Italian dishes. It's difficult to get a table on short notice. They also charge 25$ no show fee per person if cancelled reservation until a certain deadline. They offer outdoor dining too. Edit: The server did not inform that half of the dish at Parla can be made vegetarian. Do try their dungeon master dice for a surprise cocktail.

I recently toured two out of state friends around New England, with a final stop in Boston. This was a place I knew we had to visit, and even though it took us two tries to get in, it was well worth the wait (definitely make a reservation). I loved the vibe of this place, there was something new to see and experience every place you looked. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the cocktails were out of this world. Something for everyone, and the mystery roll if you're feeling adventurous (and as someone a bit nerdy, I appreciated the d20). I could have looked through the notebooks paired with the menus for hours, and tried to leave a few good contributions of my own (not pictured, can't take credit for that one 😉). I hope one day they will publish some into a book; it reminds me of Post Secret back in the day. I really hope to go back someday soon, cheers to these folks for an amazing location.

Do you want fancy cocktails? Do you want great food? Do you want to be a dungeon master drinker? Parla has all of it in the atmosphere of a small speakeasy hole in the wall. The food selection is amazing and they have delicious options. They have a "Dungeon Master" challenge where you roll a D20 and whatever number it lands on is what you get. You'll get a card and after you drink all 20 drinks, you'll get the choice to have them curate a drink based on which ones you like and then name it yourself and add it to the menu. The only reason I'm giving a 4 star review is that the food portions are a little small for the price and some of the drinks I got weren't very good. That is personal preference however but be aware that you could get a drink that has a liquor base that you don't like. Gotta deal with what the dice rolled for you though! Also side note, they have these cute little booklets the menus come in that you can add your own message or poem or drawing in. Just ask for a pen!

The ambiance felt like I was in a Harry Potter movie, the staff was sweet and I really enjoyed this bar! I probably stayed longer than I should’ve but it was too good to leave early! I also made new friends!! 😁

The food was excellent, Unlike most of the disappointing restaurants in the North End! Drinks were fun and creative. We did their dungeon master drink game, and it was fun actually. But good luck if you land on 15! The only criticism is that some tables got free shots and some did not, I am not sure of the criteria for the shots!

We stopped by for Brunch and it was fantastic! We throughly enjoyed the menu and the ability to Swansonize your drink (the side of bacon was no joke). The food was delicious and service was great, we will definitely be returning! Note: definitely make a reservation, the day before there were plenty of options available online so we were surprised that the restaurant was packed when we arrived. Just an attestation to the quality, so don’t miss out!

What a fun, funky, spectacular little place! Make a reservation if you don't want to wait, but we never had to wait more than 15 minutes even at the busiest time. The staff here is absolutely The Best and astoundingly knowledgeable about all things mixology. Do the "Dungeon Master" dice rolling to discover some surprising new drinks! Highly recommended.

The food was absolutely lovely. Their menu drinks are very good as well. I tried 2 of their "secret menu" drinks and they were...creative to say the least. People say the others are much better and I'm very interested in trying all 20.

Came here for date night and had a fun time! Rolling for random cocktails was a blast, and drinks we got were good, if not a little strange. A little pricey, but that's the North End for ya. Looking forward to coming back and rolling again!

This place was impressive. Play the dragon roll game. Find out about their deep and expansive cocktail list. Wow! I had the Cloud 9 and it was spectacular!

Such an experience!! Everything about this place was just so much fun - the menu, the drinks, the little notebooks hidden in the tables, etc. The concept of rolling the 20-sided die to choose your drink is so fun and adventurous, but it goes even beyond that! You’re given a card to track your progress so I’m intensely motivated to get all 20 just for my competitiveness’ sake, but if you do get all 20 they craft you a custom cocktail and you have access to “the bucket list” which is 17 drinks for $99 (must have a group of at least 4 to do) so how cool is that?! I went with a group of 5 and we ended up getting 8 of the 20 secret cocktails - some are really out there, but honestly none tasted bad. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. You can “Swansonize” a drink which means they give you 50% more of the cocktail you order plus they give you a side of bacon for free (the bacon was so good). If you’re looking for a really fun experience and delicious food this is definitely the spot.

Came out for drinks on a Saturday night. They run a fun novelty called “The dungeon master” which is super unique and fun. The Manhattan was excellent, and one of my friends said “this is the best martini I’ve ever had”. Among the many bars in the downtown area, this place definitely stands out

A great speakeasy style bar. The bartender, Martin, was super friendly and knowledgeable. The Dungeon Master game is super fun and will definitely bring us back to this bar the next time we're in Boston

This is a fun speakeasy style bar. The cocktails were adventurous and fun to order. The waitress was attentive and the food was good as well. We went on a Saturday night (WITH a reservation) and really had a great time. I also liked that they had books at each table where people had written their thoughts on and it was interesting to read them all.

Cool little cafe style location. The staff was wonderful dealing with a Texan and Jersey Shore roaming around drinking and eating. The recommendations were great. The meatballs were some of the best.

My bartender was great. The cocktail was fantastic. I loved the atmosphere. I was by myself so the nice chat with the bartender and being able to doodle/read the doodles in the menus was a nice plus.

A great spot for brunch if you are visiting Boston! It is very small so you need to make a reservation if you plan on visiting, make sure you ask to see the drink menu as it is super unique!!

Hip, tiny spot for creative cocktails in the north end. Huge, quirky menu with a hilariously fun “TLDR” option where you (literally) roll the dice for a drink. Excellent service, reservations recommended. Will be back for sure!

Cool vibes. Creative menu that you can write in. Excellent drinks. Decent but average Italian food. Good service fast. Drink service a little slow. Good date spot

Cool, intimate spot with funky drink options and good food, nice service. Try the dungeon master, awesome idea! Whether you’re there at opening (5pm) or later on in evening, the vibes are fantastic. Bartenders are best I’ve ever seen doing their thing.

Greatest cocktails in Boston ever 12/10 experience. The staff is fun, the food is great, now even tho it's a small place it has a huge personality. The art the lighting. I can rant forever why I love this place so go an experience it for yourself.

One of the best cocktail bars I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. The tapas were off-the-charts delicious, but the real stars of the show were the cocktails randomly selected via rolling a 20-sided die. Every one of my friends (coincidentally having played dnd together) rolled the die to be given a special, wacky, always delicious yet unexpected drink. It was a blast, and I would recommend this place to anyone.

This meal was pure bliss. Great service, great drinks, great food. Big sexy meal!!! The Maine Lobster Ravioli was just as BUSSIN’ as the Beignets!

Yo Parla is lit! I am now part of rolling the dice and drinking mystery drinks adventure and it’s such a cool idea! Now I’m guaranteed to come back cuz I have to try the rest of the 20 something drinks! Super fun!

Great food, awesome cocktails 🍸, but really loud. It's a small place with expanded seating on the sidewalk. Don't drive to the restaurant, park in the financial district and taxi/uber there..👍

This was a great place for dinner! Great food and service, plus I love that you can specifically reserve whether you sit inside or outside

I would give this place 6 stars if I could. Everything was wonderful. Phill, the host, was charming and fun. He even charged our phone for us because it was nearly dead. Now the food - my spouse got the pappardelle (lamb pasta dish) that was delicious, but the star was the seafood risotto that I ordered. It is in the running for the best thing I've ever eaten. We thought briefly about ordering a second helping to share; it was that good. The atmosphere was fun and noisy without being too loud to talk. The outdoor seating was great. Overall, we are so glad we chose Parla for our dinner last night!

The food was great, but I am docking it one star due to the service. We ordered drinks, apps, and a main course. The apps and the main course arrived at the same time (more than 1 hour after we arrived) which kind of defeated the purpose, although I was pleasantly surprised with the food. The polenta was probably some of the best I have had. The unfortunate cherry on too was that after the food took so long to arrive, we were told that there was another reservation coming. I did find it strange that they were making us hurry up given that the food took so long to arrive. TLDR- good food, but you need to wait for it and eat fast

Loved the seared octopus! Great chicken parmesan. A bit cramped in the restaurant. Service was good.
